This hotel is 5 star in location , rooms , service and the food in the plantation resurant is excellent. The buffet food in the evening the quality , variety and presentation needs some attention. Area of excellent are the Plantation restaurant under the mangment of Radhoa is of high quality and exceptional food. The spa treatment by Aurelie and Clina were outstanding. Sailen the butler was attentive to all our needs, and no job was too small for him . Jackie the waitress in the bar area was friendly and always has a smile for the guests in welcoming them and attending to them. Overall hotel is excellent , would come cack again.

An amazing hotel, we have been to Mauritius many times and stayed at many hotels, I can very certainly state that the residence is my favourite, save for the situation with the horses. The bathrooms were very clean. The rooms were clean and even though Mauritius is very humid it was very nice to not have the bedding or any of the linen have that humid feel or smell to it. The tiles were clean and absorbent. Amenities were plenty. The breakfast was very nice however it’s the same food every morning they really could work on changing that. I would also suggest that the heat the pool as we were there the end of September and it was too cold to swim had the pool he been hit though we would’ve been able to swim. There is one activity I would like to highlight which is extremely disappointing and that is the horse riding. Every morning horses walk up and down the beach for photo opportunities with guests who pay for it however as the horses walk through the ocean, they defecate into the ocean very close to the shore. This was really offputting and also very unhygienic and because of this we could not put our kids or allow them to go into the ocean, this is why I gave the hotel 4 stars. It is also the reason I will not recommend people with babies or very young kids to stay here. Very sad that this one thing can ruin such an amazing hotel.

This hotel has been by far my BEST stay in Mauritius. Ive stayed at other 5 star places but this has been my best experience, one to, I will certainly return to. I was here with my mum and we loved every moment. The staff and service is exceptional. I am vegan, and every day my dietary requirements were sorted. The rooms are extremely clean, housekeeping does such a great job. We stayed in room 274, ocean facing, highly recommended to take ocean facing. This is the one hotel I'll return to. Thank you for making my stay a great one.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin – this hotel completely exceeded all my expectations! The kindness and warmth of the staff was absolutely extraordinary. I have truly never in my life experienced such attentive, polite, and caring people. Every single person went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome – it was simply heart-warming. The cleanliness of the entire property was impeccable, and the service flawless from start to finish. And oh, the food… I could go on forever! So much variety, such incredible taste, and such creativity – every meal felt like a celebration of flavors. The hotel also offers a wide range of water activities, many of them included, which made our stay even more fun and exciting. The beach is breathtaking – right at the doorstep, with soft sand and crystal-clear water. It felt like paradise. One of the absolute highlights: I celebrated my birthday here, and the team surprised me with a freshly baked cake and the most beautiful decoration. I genuinely felt like a princess – it was such a touching and unforgettable moment. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone at the hotel. We left with full hearts and the happiest memories. We will definitely be coming back!

We were overall quite disappointed with The Residence Mauritius. The hotel is clearly outdated and, apart from the arrival hall, has very little charm. Many areas look worn. The sunbeds are standard, and the umbrellas cannot be opened when it is windy, leaving you exposed to the strong sun. The pool is too small and looks old fashioned with its blue tiles. You can really tell that the hotel opened in 1998. I was especially shocked to see a staff member chase away stray dogs with a stick. That is absolutely unacceptable. Room: Clean, but definitely not 5 star level. Very noisy you can even hear the neighbours snoring or walking upstairs or next door. The windows are not light blocking, so it gets bright very early in the morning. The minibar is loud, and the air conditioning is noisy too. Food: Large scale mass catering. Not bad, but definitely not good or memorable either. Late check out was also not possible. A hotel right next door looks much more modern and lively with cool lighting, good music and a lounge atmosphere. The Residence, in comparison, feels very early 2000s and quite outdated. A renovation is urgently needed. Overall, unfortunately quite disappointing.
