After spending 9 wonderful nights at The Royal Blue, we can confidently say this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, with a beautiful sunset every evening. The hotel is elegant, peaceful, and full of character. If you’re looking for karaoke and loud entertainment, this probably isn’t the place for you 😜. But if you’re looking for relaxation, stunning surroundings, and total tranquillity, you’ll love it. The food was delicious throughout our stay. While dining in the hotel may seem more expensive than the local tavernas, once you factor in the cost of sunbeds and umbrellas on public beaches, it actually offers great value. Having food and drinks delivered directly to your sunbed within minutes is a wonderful bonus. The private beach and the main pool are fantastic, and despite the hotel being almost full, there were always plenty of sunbeds available – no early morning rush to reserve a spot. The staff were excellent, our room was spotless every day, and the whole resort has a calm atmosphere that makes you forget about the busy world outside. A special thank you for making our wedding anniversary so memorable. We couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful place to celebrate such a special occasion. We will definitely be back. The Royal Blue truly is a little piece of heaven.

We had a wonderful stay at Royal Blue Resort & Spa in Crete and would happily return. What really made our experience special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful. The breakfast and dinner service teams remembered us throughout our stay, always greeting us with a smile and going out of their way to help. The housekeeping staff were equally impressive—fast, thorough, and consistently keeping our room spotless. The spa team were knowledgeable, professional, and very welcoming. As first-time parents traveling with a baby, we especially appreciated how child-friendly the resort was. The staff clearly love children and made us feel comfortable and supported throughout our stay. One moment that truly stood out was when my husband became ill during our stay. The hotel manager and relationship liaison went above and beyond to help us by arranging for a doctor after hours. Everyone was incredibly kind and reassuring during what could have been a stressful situation. They even called and personally checked in on him afterward to make sure he was recovering well. That level of genuine care and attention meant a lot to us and is something we won't forget. The food was another highlight. There was plenty of variety, so meals never felt repetitive, and everything was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the kitchen staff were—they were happy to personalize even buffet dishes when possible, which really showed their commitment to guest satisfaction. The resort itself is beautiful, with amazing views and plenty of space. Even when it seemed quite busy, it never felt crowded thanks to the size and layout of the property. A couple of minor points: the rooms are a little more dated than the photos suggest, but they are very spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. The private beach is also well maintained and ideal for families, as the water is calm and safe for children. The only slight downside was that the rock barrier somewhat obstructed the sea view from the beach area. We also loved the thoughtful local gifts we received at the end of our stay. The olive oil and traditional sweets were such a lovely touch and a wonderful way to end our holiday. Overall, the outstanding service, excellent food, family-friendly atmosphere, and beautiful setting far outweighed these small drawbacks. The genuine kindness shown to our family, especially when my husband was unwell, made this stay truly exceptional. We totally understand why so many families go back to visit year after year!

Visited only for lunch, but wouldn’t hesitate to stay here in future. Hotel was spotless and attractively laid out. Food was delicious and very fresh. Service from the lady running the lobby bar was super welcoming and very friendly. Prices weren’t cheap, but given the quality and location, I thought good value.

We spent 4 nights at Royal Blue. I was afraid because they mainly offer all-inclusive option, which is never a luxury experience. We chose the regular bed and breakfast, and the experience was really very good : nice and comfy rooms, excellent service, marvellous à-la-carte restaurants and perfect spa. Forget the main pool where people "reserve" their lounge chairs in the morning by letting towels to prevent you from using it even if they will only arrive 2 hours later, and choose the small pool which not crowded and offer a more luxury setting. The beach and pools bar service is very efficient. The hotel in itself does not feel crowded. We particularly appreciated the service of George upon arrival, Nikitas at the restaurant and the exceptional massage from George at the spa. An excellent choice, no downside; except maybe the never ending check-in process, which is not the best way to welcome the guests because it gives a very bad impression from the beginning; but you quickly forget it. Don't hesitate !

We had a wonderful stay at The Royal Blue Hotel in Crete. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome – everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, creating a really relaxing atmosphere. The food was a highlight of our trip – absolutely delicious with plenty of choice at every meal. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, everything was fresh and full of flavour. The service in the restaurant was excellent too, which made dining even more enjoyable. Overall, this is a perfect place for a relaxing holiday in Crete. Friendly staff, immaculate rooms, and fantastic food – we couldn’t have asked for more. We would definitely recommend The Royal Blue Hotel to anyone visiting the island and look forward to returning again soon!
