My experience at Amatara Welleisure Resort was wonderful. From the moment I arrived I was carefully attended to, having my luggage delivered to the room and being provided with a drink, cold towel, and fruit. As I went during the low season my suite was upgraded to a bigger one. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the view from the balcony of Cape Panwa was great. Breakfast was lovely - there was both a buffet and an à la carte menu and you could have both. Lunch and dinner had nice options. The food was well cooked and served quickly. Prices were high compared to the rest of Phuket - my 3 course meal with drinks cost about £30. My room service (1 dish and drink) was about £11 The wellness aspect of the stay was the highlight for me. One of the staff at breakfast offered to book me in for physio when I mentioned I had a bad ankle and I received a free consultation. I booked an oil massage the next day and the masseuse offered to give special attention to my bad ankle without me asking. The pressure was perfect and the oil was amazing. I had a short time at the private beach - they offer water sports you can arrange with the hotel. The beach was clean and instagrammable. There are few loungers however and it’s not great for swimming in. Cape panwa is quite far from many of the main sights so this stay is more for resort dwellers - a taxi to Phuket old town was £7 and took 30 mins. Best to spend a whole day there.

We began this Thailand journey at Amatara in Phuket. There were wellness classes, beautiful natural grounds, and a feeling that people were genuinely happy to see one another. What stood out most was the warmth of the staff, their graciousness, their gratitude, and the quiet way they preserved and expressed something deeply rooted in Thai culture. We enjoyed great breakfast buffet and amazing classes included in the booking. The rooms were suite like enthusiasm st entry level done tastfully in classic Thai beauty. The grounds impeccably maintained. And don't miss the beach@ we unfortunately did until last hour but it's heaven on earth. Special thanks for Top, Joy, Aziz, Max, Tom and Aui for going above and beyond. The rest of the staff were amazing also. We were there at same time as yoga with Bri and enjoyed one of the classes. What an amazing stay. We will definitely be back ❤️

We had an amazing meal tonight in Senses restaurant. Ding and his team; Nam and Kim were all amazing and made us feel so welcome! Their service is second to none, they are all so friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely incredible, we would definitely recommend and hope we can return before we finish our trip! ----- For the first time in my life, I leave a place… but the place doesn’t leave me. Amatara is not just a resort for me; it is an experience that will stay in my heart for a long time. Even after leaving, I still feel a deep longing for the place and for the people who made our stay so special. We stayed at Amatara for our first four nights, then moved to another hotel with very high ratings and an equally high price tag. But on the very same night we checked in, we cancelled that booking and came straight back to Amatara — because no rating or price can replace a team that is truly exceptional. For the first time in my life, I felt like I wanted every single person in the team to be a real-life friend of mine, simply because of how genuinely kind, warm, and welcoming everyone was. One of the most beautiful parts of this experience was the entire team, but Jasper and Nita had a truly unforgettable impact. Jasper was exceptional from the very first moment we arrived until the moment she stood at the door to say goodbye. She was full of genuine care, warmth, and a beautiful energy that made us feel like we belonged there. Before leaving, I left her a small note, and I truly hope she read it, because it meant a lot to me. Nita was also incredibly kind, supportive, and respectful. She never hesitated to help with anything we needed, always responding with a smile that made everything easier and more pleasant, as if her presence alone could brighten your day. The food was unbelievably delicious, with every meal being a delightful experience on its own. The resort is also perfect for families and children, offering a calm and peaceful atmosphere in every corner. I also deeply appreciate the attention to our needs as Muslims, including a comfortable environment and suitable food options, which made our stay even more relaxing and reassuring. One of the most meaningful gestures was that the rooms were completely alcohol-free — a quiet but powerful sign of respect that meant the world to us. And I cannot forget the spa experience with Paul — it was truly magical, to the point where I felt like I was floating among the clouds because of how relaxed and peaceful I felt. Honestly, Amatara is not just the best resort I have ever stayed in; it is a place that left a real and unforgettable mark on my heart. I have been missing it since the moment I left. Booked via agoda and stayed 3 nights. On checkin you get a welcome drink (cinnamon inced tea) which may be the best thing I've ever drank. The room felt aged but in good condition. The facilities are amazing with great pool and gym (and lots of activities including a body composition scan). Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet has all the basics and the à la carte menus are amazing. The porridge and wanton soup were so good I had it everyday. The only hiccup was on the last night the water from the taps in the room started to run brown and they couldn't fix it so another room was provided. The room had its own issues with shower door not closing fully meaning water spilling outside, lotion that smelled old and weak air conditioning (even on full fan speed it was so weak sleeping was challenging). There were no apologies at the time which was disappointing but the next day the manager came to apologise for the inconvenience. I appreciate the gesture but it felt late. However, to make up for it Nita and Nui helped arrange a drop off to our next destination. This was really appreciated and helped restore faith in the venue. Overall, I'd recommend this resort and in the end the people made the difference. Tip would be to buy some mosquito repellent spray from. 7-11. There were quite a few which I suspect cannot be helped given the surrounding nature.
