Second Anantara hotel I’ve stayed at and it was a great experience for us, though with one big miss. Amazing views - room was huge with a jacuzzi overlooking the Uluwatu coast. Service was incredible as was the rooftop breakfast. Yoga and spa were also favorites of ours. The big miss however was new years - we stayed 2 nights to enjoy the new years dinner and celebration at the poolside restaurant. It was very expensive for Bali - around $400, and unfortunately it seemed the restaurant was woefully unprepared for a special new years menu. Food was slow and tiny portions, and we heard other tables complaining as well. Hopefully more prepared next year. In any case we made the most of it and will consider Anantara again.

Large rooms equipped with everything you need. Views are stunning and the infinity pool is next level! Service from all team members is brilliant, made our stay even better. The spa was clean and we had a lovely massage. The breakfasts were amazing, had everything you could want. Highly recommend Anantara, we will definitely be back.

My stay at Anantara Bali ulwatu was truly exceptional. The service was impeccable, the cleanliness was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, making the experience feel genuinely luxurious and welcoming.

We stayed at Anantara Uluwatu expecting a 5-star experience for USD 400 per night, but it turned into one of the most disappointing hotel stays. The main infinity pool is closed, the entire 5th floor is under renovation, and there’s constant drilling and hammering from 8 AM until night. None of this was disclosed on the website or before booking. We only received an email three days before arrival, when it’s too late to change plans or cancel (it’s non-refundable). When we asked about it, staff claimed it was mentioned online (it wasn’t) and said we’d been “informed.” That felt dishonest. The rooms are outdated, sheets had stains, and there’s a paint and construction smell throughout the property. Construction workers are visible all around the resort, not exactly the “peaceful cliffside retreat” we booked. Their “solution” to the pool closure was to close off a villa and let everyone share a tiny pool with seven sunbeds. Other solution was to use Radisson Blu pool next door, which is very inconvenient. Radisson Blu is half the price, why did I book Anantara then? For context, we’ve stayed at other 5-star resorts in Bali for significantly lower price, and the difference in cleanliness, service, and overall experience was huge. Anantara Uluwatu feels overpriced, outdated, and mismanaged. Until the renovations are truly done, avoid this hotel: you’ll get no pool, no peace, and no value for what you pay.

I’m writing this review because I don’t want any other person to be scammed because honestly and objectively this hotel is the worst hotel I have been in my life, the rooms are not clean, the whole resort is not clean, everything looks very old and dirty. The spa was also very poor, not relaxing at all, the ambiance music was stooping every 10min and it smelled really bad. So if you are expecting the comfort, cleaning, luxury of a 5star hotel please be careful because you are going to be disappointed. My impression of this place is that they were trying to steal people, everything is overpriced. The rooms, the restaurants, the spa are way overpriced for the value. You can find way better elsewhere for the same amount so once again be careful. It’s a scam and I will for sure never go back there. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that the staff team is really nice but I think they did it on purpose to compensate the fact that the hotel is terrible.
