This is a very large hotel but it is well run and we never had any problems with overcrowding. We stayed in September and it was very warm therefore the sun loungers around the pool filled up very quickly when the gates were opened in the morning. However, we were always able to find available sun loungers when we strolled up at 11 a.m. We were half board. There was a huge variety of food available so there was always something to suit your taste. On one day we swapped our evening meal for a midday meal and we thought the lunch food was not as good as the food at dinner.

Overall extremely underwhelmed. On arrival the hotel is exquisitely stunning.. however once inside it’s a huge disappointment. They welcome you with fabulous service & with a smile before the nightmare begins. This hotel is not fit for those with mobility difficulties or disabilities. They are non negotiable about any simple aid. Housekeeping may aswell be non existent. A guest of mine was extremely unwell in the bathroom and it wasn’t cleaned at all. However they had been to purely make the beds & ignore the ants festering all of the floors & patio. I am not exaggerating when I say a huge disappointment because a customers worst nightmare happened to me. The One main restaurant is buffet style, I picked up a potato on my plate and it was inches away from my mouth when I noticed a great big BALL of blonde hair moulded onto the top of it. I reported it to a waitress who then followed up with her ‘manager’ to assist. However after swiftly taking the fork away as I was taking a photo of it, she said she’s taking it to the chef… her and all other staff members never came back to apologise, or make any kind of resolution. They would consistently walk infront of my table and put their heads down or be on the phone as though they couldn’t care less and that I’m just one person in a sea of people in the cafeteria. Hotel is definitely not recommended for any families with teenagers as there is no nightlife nearby nor activities. I plead to find another hotel because this is just not acceptable.

We’ve just returned from a 10day stay at the Barceló Playa Blanca and were very impressed with the hotel from the moment we arrived. As we approached by coach, the huge glass frontage and views were amazing. The hotel has a very modern, clean and welcoming feel. The reception area was lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were checked in and seen to in good time, which was much appreciated after travelling. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a sea view, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for more. The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and having a lovely balcony to sit on with a drink in the evening while looking out to sea was a real highlight. Our room was cleaned every day and the bed was made daily, so we really couldn’t fault the housekeeping. The food was also very good, with a great selection and different main courses each day. There was show cooking with freshly prepared meats and pasta, as well as plenty of other choices. We never had a day where we went hungry! The pool area was lovely and very spacious, with a warmer pool on one side and a cooler pool on the other. One thing we particularly liked was that there were no sunbed wars plenty of space and no need to get up at the crack of dawn to claim a bed. The bars were also conveniently located, making it easy to grab a drink without having to go far. The cleanliness throughout the hotel really stood out to us. Every toilet we used smelled lovely and was always clean and well looked after. All of the staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. A massive hats off to all the bar and restaurant staff, who work incredibly hard, especially during the busy periods. They were always pleasant and kept everything running smoothly. The entertainment was also good, with some special evening shows that were incredibly professional and highly skilled. There was plenty to enjoy throughout our stay. The location is another big plus. It’s only a few minutes’ walk to shops and restaurants, with the Marina Rubicón around 5 minutes one way and Playa Blanca around 15 minutes in the other direction. Overall, we were very impressed with the Barceló Playa Blanca. It is a very large hotel, but despite its size, everything felt well organised, clean and welcoming. We had a fantastic 10 days and would definitely recommend it. We would love to return in the future! 🌴☀️🍹

All the gear no idea....... We went as a group of 3 adults, on check in staff rather rude, we went to the room and saw the shower was literally in the room, ok for a couple not for 3 friends or a families, also only 2 chairs on balcony, we went to reception to ask for a room change to be told all rooms are the same, we asked for a extra chair as there was 3 of us and was told no, asked for a manager who came out as was also rude. Food at breakfast was nice but evening meals not that good food cold most nights and one night the food was actually raw (mince meat in bolongaise) Restaurant staff rude one came and started taking cutlery away even though we was about to get dessert, I asked him to leave it and he became a bit aggressive.. We also saw a member of staff pulling faces and making a guesture behind a guest back as she walked in front of him, Hotel is stunning but the staff and poor room designs really let it down. Also there cocktails are the worst l've ever had and didn't taste like they should. The local bars are much better, Not Worth the price for service you get

Very Disappointing for Families with Food Allergies We stayed at this hotel as a family, including a child with multiple severe food allergies, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. The hotel claims to cater for allergies, but in reality the options were incredibly limited. Every day the allergy-friendly meals were virtually the same – plain chicken with either chips or potatoes and some overcooked vegetables. There was very little choice or variety, especially for a longer stay. One member of our family also has a severe nut allergy and found there were almost no suitable desserts or pastries available throughout the holiday. It felt as though guests with allergies had very much been overlooked. Most upsettingly, our child suffered an allergic reaction during the holiday. Thankfully he recovered, but it was a very frightening experience and left us with little confidence in the hotel’s ability to cater safely for guests with complex allergies. There were other disappointing aspects too. The swimming pools were surprisingly cold, despite us visiting at the end of July, so they weren’t particularly enjoyable to use. The gym also had no air conditioning, making it unbearably hot and uncomfortable to exercise in. Overall, this was not the relaxing family holiday we had hoped for. If you or your children have serious food allergies, I would think very carefully before booking this hotel. We expected a much higher standard of allergy awareness, food provision and overall guest experience.
