Myself and my husband spent a week of our honeymoon here It was seamless from start to finish. Information provided regarding transfers from the airport and transfer booked through barcelo. Boat over to the resort was an exceptional on time service All staff from gardening, maintenance, service, spa and reception staff were friendly and really hard working. We had the all inclusive package, the options available were good, we had 2 out of the 4 restaurants available and good all inclusive drinks options at both. There was 50% off at the other restaurants. The only complaint I would have in regard to this would be the western menu was indicated as covered by all inclusive on info sheet given on arrival, however this was a paid menu ( 11-5pm). Also when the buffet nights happened at kucina my partner would have no western menu options on those evenings as thats when the kucina al a carte would not be available. Thats for the more fussy eater, he did eat off the kids menu once or twice. i however loved eating in Kabang and didn't have any complaints . We loved the Spa, there was always appointments available. We loved our time on the resort. We had one of the pool villa rooms which was one of our favourite things about our stay, plenty of time spent in that pool. The onsite shop was handy if you forget suncream or mossy spray. We went on the hotels walking tour of the island, the local village also has a few shops if your looking for a few bits for your fridge. Hopefully we get to revisit in the future

We had the most amazing stay here. Me and my partner stayed here for 7 nights. We stayed in the jacuzzi suite which was gorgeous with so much space. Daily housekeeping was amazing and they top up drinking water too. The staff were so attentive and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you. Although food and drink in the hotel were quite expensive (western prices) there are a handful of nearby restaurants and bars on the island that are more local prices. They have entertainment on every night like fire shows on the beach, cooking demonstrations and live music. The facilities like the pool and the gym were all spotless and very modern. The hotel offers a free long tail boat to a neighbouring island (rang yai) which is so pretty and a must do. They also offer other excursions but they are a bit more pricey than online but worth it for ease. The shuttle boat to mainland is so easy and goes every hour. I saw some reviews that were complaining about bugs/animals around the hotel- you’re staying in a jungle there will of course be some wildlife. Aircon in the room was very good too. Overall 10/10 stay

The all inclusive package was exceptional, including amazing seafood and a la carte dishes. I have had my fair share of all inclusive 'luxury' resorts that end up serving burgers and fish and chips; I can confirm that this is not the case with my stay! The resort was well presented and worthy of a true five-star rating. Attentive and friendly staff. The Director Guest Experiences (glasses and bald hair gentleman) and the Kabang waiter/bartenders were exceptional. The location is a double edged sword- to no fault of the hotel. The inherent nature of a private island means inconvenient transfers. Its location on the quieter Eastern coast provides an idyllic and serene environment. This naturally, means that getting to the bustling districts take a long time (eg. to the Western coast- like Patong, Kata or even Nai Harn). Be prepared for an hour's taxi (affordable though). That said, I would still book here again- it is worth the trade off if you prefer something more secluded and quiet. Overall, outstanding. Seldom do I write reviews and endorse stays, but I was truly satisfied and it achieved my intent of unwinding and relaxing.

We had a really rocky start to our holiday but thanks to Alex who has intervened and tried to make our holiday experience more enjoyable. So a big thank you to Alex! On the other hand the hotel management really needs to review some of their management skills and decisions. . This hotel has a non-swimmable sea with murky water and a below-average, dirty beach. Apparently this depends on the time of the season. It wasn't great when we were here in December for Christmas. Maybe the seasonanality of the water quality should be communicated to the clients in the hotel’s description on their website. In my opinion the beach photos on the hotel website are misleading. If you want to travel 10+ hours from Europe to stay on a so-called tropical island, only to find dirty sea water where you cannot swim and have to fight daily for the very limited sunbeds around the pool, then this might be your dream holiday. Unfortunately, it is not for me. The food and drinks in the all-inclusive package are not great, just acceptable at best. The staff are very friendly, but very few speak English, and they often do not understand even when using a Thai translator app. Communication becomes a guessing game with most of the staff. We only booked this hotel because of the Barcelo name, but our experience so far has been very disappointing. Thailand has many beautiful beaches, and Barcelo's beach is not one of them. The hotel has a lot of potential and the service and the client experience can be improved immensely. There are other management issues like you can't order a burger at the beach restaurant bar as part of your all inclusive concept. If you do you will be charged but you can go to the restaurant next door(5 seconds walk!!) and order it for free as long as you eat it there. So the big question to the management of this hotel - Why can't one of your staff order the burger from the next door kitchen and serve it at the beach restaurant?? We didn't enjoy our holiday much and there seemed to be others who did. So do your research before you book! It looks like we have failed...

A beautiful, retreat style resort , with the option All-inclusive , very recommended. The Island is very quiet , but the hotel makes up for it . Rooms are large, bed is 7 out of 10 , beautiful interiour and stylish, relaxed modern and suits the thai island. Pool and sunbeds are good , great food to be buffet. This place is really perfect for 3-7 nights stay , if you are happy to do nothing, just eat, sunbake, or join the activitys, go for bikeride or yoga. There is no hustle and bustle. Easy access with taxi from airport, and the free boat shuttle to the hotel , best start of an holiday , getting over jetlag and adjusting. Very friendly and nice staff!
