The hotel has two sections: an old wing and a new wing. The rooms in the new section are beautiful and comfortable, while the old section is at a much lower standard. Breakfast starts closing even 5 minutes before the official end time, and the staff seem stressed and eager to shut everything down. This happened every morning and felt a bit unpleasant. Housekeeping did not clear the used dishes from our room — cutlery, glasses, plates, etc. In addition, they did not provide enough towels and at times did not leave toilet paper. One day, the room was only cleaned late in the afternoon. Overall, we stayed in a beachfront villa, so the room itself was amazing. However, the service experience is very much in line with a 4-star rating, or perhaps even less. The hotel restaurant is extremely expensive.

We’ve just returned from 10 days at Celes Samui and would definitely go back and recommend guests to stay here. We were looking for a luxury stay in the beach and in walking distance to amenities and this was perfect. The staff are all incredibly nice, work hard and show a genuine interest in making your stay a special one. The spa is lovely and my massage was incredible. There are 2 gyms which are well stocked with what you need and 3 pools. The infinity pool has the wow factor and a pool side bar. You can walk along the beach to Fisherman’s village where there are shops and restaurants and a night market that operates several times a week. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to Chaweng and Fisherman’s Village. We took advantage of this and visited Chaweng which is recommend as it has a very different vibe to Bophut. The food here is excellent and we booked a few of the theme nights which are well worth doing. Breakfast was served 7-10am and you could sit overlooking the beach. The breakfast served a varied selection from cooked Thai, pastries, salads, fruit, eggs, omelettes, cereals and more. What really shines here is the staff and how lovely everyone is and how hard they work. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were restocked every day with water, and the mini bar restocked with soft drinks. The staff who cleaned the room were so nice and always had a smile. This was our first time in Thailand and Celes Samui gave us the most amazing experience, thank you.

The hotel itself is beautiful, with a great pool, excellent food, and very friendly, professional service. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The Premium Villa is comfortable, though it doesn’t offer any particular view. Unfortunately, there are two major downsides. The first was New Year’s Eve. The price was extremely high for what was offered. It included only food (which was very good) and very weak entertainment. No drinks were included at all — not even water or a glass of champagne. Everything had to be purchased separately, bringing the total cost to around 8,000 THB per person. For that price, expectations were much higher, especially since similar New Year’s events in other hotels were free for their guests. Many people left during the event, which says a lot. The second, and biggest issue, was the beach. There was a large amount of trash in the sand and floating in the water, making swimming impossible. What was most disappointing was seeing hotel staff sweeping the trash back into the sea instead of collecting it. This is especially troubling when hotels promote sustainability by limiting towel and linen changes, yet allow pollution on their own beachfront. Overall, if you are not visiting during New Year’s Eve or other special events and mainly plan to relax by the pool, the hotel can be a good choice.

This could easily be a 4 or 5 rating, but there are some important matters to a hotel stay that unfortunately drags down the experience. 1) The service is not anything near what it should be. Upon arrival I had to sit and wait for my room until I had to ask for it being ready way past 14 (normal checking time). The person finally showing me my room was not at all friendly, and did not tell me anything about key features such as coffee machine and AC. She just left. I wanted to go out and enjoy the views and stepped out of my room in my underwear. The door locked behind me and I did not have the key with me - because I were not told the door locked automatically. So I had to walk out in almost naked into the common area and look for help. Quite embarrassing! 2) Cleaning The room was never really clean and came with dust, hair and nails on the floor. This effect the room over time and its very clear that areas around the toilet, shower and bathroom, windows and edges/corners need a real fix. The pool had a lot of small organisms floating below surface level (dominanse the water) even if pool boys came twice. They just don’t know how to clean things, people seam not that trained. A huge cookroach showed up in my bathroom, something I don’t expect at any decent hotel even if I am in Thailand. 3) Breakfast area and serving areas lack charm, feels like charter concept. I stayed at a pool suite by the ocean. The room is great looking, and it felt private and nice to have the outdoor area by myself. It’s pricy, but a rare opportunity to stay at the beach with such a nice view.

We spent 9 nights in Celes Samui, as a group of 24 people, from the beginning everything went smoothly, Navaporn took care of everything regarding offers, agreements and preparation for our vacation, she was very patient and answered all questions. On our arrival we had a pleasure to be taken care of by Noi, another woman with kind heart, if we had a problem they solved everything. Rooms are beautiful, very spacious, very clean, breakfasts are delicious with a variety of food, hotel is modern, but has a lot of green areas, which makes it comfy. In general, I think everyone knows that it's hard to satisfy 24 people, but at the end, everyone said that this were their best vacation, so we highly recommend staying in Celes. :)
