Hotel TRH Taoro Garden - Only Adults

We had a great stay at the TRH Taoro Garden Hotel. The location, in the neighbourhood of the gardens, is excellent, and the whole area around the hotel is lovely and well maintained. The town (Puerto de la Cruz) is beautiful, and it was a pleasure to stroll around. The hotel room was spacious and very comfortable. The food was very good, with plenty of choice every day. The staff were extremely friendly, including reception, housekeeping, and the bar and restaurant teams—they all worked very hard.

We had a lovely stay at TRH Taoro Garden hotel. The surrounding area, pool, and food were incredible. The beauty of the location is truly breathtaking, looking out from the balcony it feels like paradise. The buffet was varied and well-cooked each day, we particularly enjoyed the grill section (Joanna was a highlight of the trip!). The reception staff were always happy to help and gave us lots of great info and recommendations. The hotel had a fair number of amenities with a massage/mini spa where we both enjoyed a treatment under their daily deal. Puerto de la Cruz is a beautiful area, we highly reccommend visiting the La Orotova Botanical Gardens. The reason why I have given 4 stars over 5 is primarily due to our experience as a gay couple in the hotel. We found that the other guests were very judgemental and often stared at us/made remarks across the room - apart from a handful of lovely people. This was made worse when we found many of the male staff (not all of them!) but particularly at the bar really seemed put-off by our presence. Whilst they would joke and laugh with other guests, they were almost silent with us. Please address this with your staff as the servers in the dining room are SO welcoming whilst other staff seemed cold. I want to gently suggest inclusivity training so that all staff can feel more confident around Queer guests. We are not a threat, and personal beliefs should not allow the level of excellent service at Taoro Gardens to suffer - especially because we cannot escape the homophobia from the guests. I also feel like the rooms could do with a touch up as some of the electrics were a bit temperamental...such as the air-con which didn't really work. We stayed in mid-September, all-inclusive.

Lovely modernised hotel. Positives- Adults only but mostly German guests -Very Clean -basic rooms but nice enough -Staff very good, friendly, speak most languages and attentive. -Pool area nice, good and plenty of beds -Quiet and relaxing. -Food ok. Negatives - hotel is up high, so walking down is fine, 20 minutes to seafront. But you’ll need a taxi back -shuttle bus to town picks up at various hotels so can be full and never on time. -No atmosphere, we’ve just used it as a base to explore -B&B is enough, you’ll go crazy eating here 3 times a day. We had a sea view 3rd floor

Cockroach infestation. A quiet and peaceful adult only hotel. About 20 minutes walk to the beach. The walk back is very hilly. On our second morning we woke to an infestation of cockroaches. See video. Please watch till the end. The staff were blasé about the situation. We did change rooms. And we’re upgraded to full board. But the distress did ruin our holiday.

Nice 7 day stay at Taoro Garden. Breakfast was very good, nice variety and the restaurant staff were lovely. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and it was a super quiet and relaxing environment. Pool was a good temperature and very clean, bar staff were all really friendly and the drinks reasonably priced. Nice 15/20 minute walk into town through a beautiful garden, uphill / stairs on the way back. We were given a ground floor room with a lovely terrace. Very clean but we did find two cockroaches (understandable as we were bottom floor). Unfortunately, the room was damp smelling, we found the beds hard and the air conditioning did not cool the room - it was often a lot warmer in the room than outside, especially at night. The reception team kindly offered us another room, one floor up. This room wasn’t damp smelling and the bed was super comfy, so I would avoid the bottom floor rooms. The AC also didn’t work well in this room - we found it hard to sleep in the heat. Overall a pleasant stay but I wouldn’t return due to the poor air conditioning.
