We have just completed a 5-night stay at Meliá Koh Samui, and overall we had a wonderful vacation. As a family (father with two teenage sons), we truly enjoyed every moment. We stayed in a The Level Pool Access Room, and this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Being able to step directly from the terrace into the pool was fantastic. My advice is to ask for a room away from the water slide, as it can be noisy during the day. Also, the room location matters—some rooms open onto much wider sections of the lagoon than others. The room itself is simple but comfortable, with an excellent mattress and a huge bed. Some of the outdoor furniture shows its age, but it certainly didn’t affect our enjoyment. The hotel’s greatest strengths are its two beautiful swimming pools and the beachfront. We spent hours there every day, and there were always plenty of available sunbeds. The beach also has jet ski rentals and several local restaurants that are much cheaper than the hotel’s restaurants. Breakfast was good, and upgrading to The Level Lounge was definitely worthwhile. The quieter atmosphere and air-conditioned lounge made a big difference. Service was good, but not exceptional. Compared to other hotels we’ve visited in Thailand, it didn’t particularly stand out. We even had one occasion where we requested fresh towels before leaving the room, but the request was forgotten. A special thank you goes to Yulia from The Level Lounge, who welcomed us every morning with a genuine smile and outstanding kindness. She truly made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is about a 10-minute taxi ride from both Fisherman’s Village and Chaweng (around 350 THB), which was perfectly fine for us. There are also restaurants, a 7-Eleven, and massage shops within walking distance. Two suggestions for improvement: • The Level arrival experience: Guests checking in at The Level are taken by buggy to the lounge. Unfortunately, our route passed the hotel’s garbage collection area, which wasn’t the best first impression. Simply using the other side of the property would create a much better arrival experience. • Lagoon Pool maintenance: Leaves constantly fall into the lagoon pool. Although the staff clean it every morning, adding another quick cleaning round in the afternoon would help keep it looking perfect throughout the day. Overall, this is a great resort, especially for families with children. It may be less suitable for couples looking for a romantic luxury escape, but for families it offers an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. We would happily return.

An unforgettable stay thanks to the amazing Level team! We had a wonderful stay at Meliá Koh Samui, and what truly made our holiday so special was the incredible team at The Level. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, attentive and welcoming throughout our stay. The Level Lounge quickly became one of our favourite parts of the holiday. Having breakfast there every morning in such a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere was a real highlight for our family. A very special thank you to Kim, who made absolutely delicious Pina Coladas! We also really enjoyed talking with Honey. She did such an amazing job and was incredibly warm and attentive, especially considering that she had only recently joined the team. A big thank you as well to Julia, Sachi and Zena, who were always so helpful and lovely during breakfast, and to Pink, who always made sure that our orders arrived on time. Matteo and his entire Level team really went above and beyond and turned a beautiful holiday into a very special one. The hotel itself is stunning, but it is the wonderful people working there who make the experience truly memorable. Thank you so much to everyone for taking such great care of our family. I do not recommend Meliá Koh Samui. We booked the most expensive room in the entire hotel expecting an experience that matched the price, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. At around 6:00 AM, the room fills with direct sunlight because there is no proper blackout curtain. We were traveling with our young daughter, and every morning she woke up, and so did we. We raised the issue with the hotel, but no real solution was offered. The room was also supposed to include a baby bed. Instead, they simply placed a mattress on the floor, without proper protection or a safe setup for a small child. We also had uncomfortable experiences with some of the men driving the buggies, who made inappropriate comments. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this category. The cleanliness was also below the standard you would expect from a five-star hotel. The breakfast was not good, the quality was poor, and we were also served food that appeared to be in bad condition, which we found completely unacceptable. Overall, our experience was far below what the hotel promises and certainly not worth the price we paid. We would not come back and definitely would not recommend this hotel, especially for families with young children.

We stayed at Melia Koh Samui and enjoyed every single moment of our stay. The breakfast was outstanding—rich, varied, and of excellent quality, with a wide selection to suit every taste. The hotel's facilities are fantastic. The large infinity pool overlooking the beach and the sea creates the perfect vacation atmosphere. In addition, the hotel features a unique lagoon-style pool that surrounds much of the property. Guests staying in the ground-floor rooms have direct access to it, making it possible to swim or simply stroll along the water—an experience you don't find at many hotels. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. Our room had an enormous, incredibly comfortable bed that made our stay even more relaxing. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile, providing excellent service throughout our stay. Overall, this is an outstanding hotel that offers a truly high-quality holiday experience. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Samui. A perfect vacation!

I stayed at this hotel with my sister and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly attentive, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and helping us with transportation around the resort. Their friendliness and hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. The room was clean and well maintained, and the entire resort was spotless and beautifully surrounded by nature.
