Mercure Samui Chaweng Tana

I booked Mercure Samui Chaweng Beach Tana hotel over a month ago and wished to have a pleasant holiday with my family. I chose beautiful pictures room, with beach access and nice pool. However, when we arrived to the main reception, they told us that they 2 buildings new one and old one, and that all the standard rooms are I the old building just opposite the street. That was not OK for my family and they got angry, but as I booked standard rooms I said OK, perhaps the conditions are the same and only going to the beach would be a problem. And the hotel staff assured us that the rooms were absolutely the same (we paid 200usd per night for a room), I somehow booked breakfast for 3 people, though we were 4 )) As you can see the corridor floor it is just concrete. The rooms itself are fine. On the website they offer a view to the yard, but in reality you get a room with a view to the construction. You can not sleep daytime as all day long they keep building and talking, making lots of noise. At night we understood that our rooms are between 2 roads and as the corridor is open, without wall we have noise coming to the room both from the door and the window. Moreover, the A/C worked very loud. It was a terrible night and ruined our holiday we planned long to this Samui island. My children’s room window was trembling all night making noise and frightening them. So, the next morning I complained to the manager, and all we could do is just we pay 150usd per night for upgrade to deluxe room and move to a new building. And you know what? Rooms are not the same, rooms are better, fresh and they A/C works quite, you do not hear it. I told the manager that they must have 2 properties on the booking platform as they cheat people. They provide info about the 2nd building only if you open the room photos and read the text, that’s weird and scums do that way. And guess what, we still had breakfast for 3 people only )) Paying total for 3nights fifteen hundred and not offer a breakfast taking into account the situation I explained …)) I won’t come back here again, but if you ever come, please avoid this hotel no to destroy your holiday. This time they said that standard rooms are in old building, next time they will say that deluxe rooms are in old building, it’s very tricky and cheating way doing business. The worst is that the hotel is under international chain Accor. I booked this also because of it’s being international brand to avoid cheating, but couldn’t. It’s bad for both the Mercure Samui hotel and the Accor chain, doing business this way.

If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I would. Having stayed in thousands of hotels over the past 25 years, I can honestly say this is one of the best I’ve ever experienced. Ning welcomed us so warmly and escorted us to our room, immediately making us feel at home. Sadly, we only saw her on the day we arrived, but she left a lasting impression. I can only assume she was also behind the wonderful surprise for my son’s 11th birthday after I casually mentioned it at check-in. The beautiful birthday cake was such a thoughtful gesture that we’ll always remember. Everything was exceptional. Thank you to Ning and the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We can’t wait to return.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mercure is definitely one of the better hotels in the area. The beach is beautiful and the sea is very enjoyable. The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast offers a good selection and is generally very satisfying. The staff throughout the hotel were attentive and professional. In particular, the reception team were very helpful, friendly, and always willing to assist with any questions or requests. One detail that could be improved is the beach towel system. Towels are collected and returned from the restaurant area, which is not very convenient. While guests are eating, people may enter the restaurant wet and dripping water to collect or return their towels. It would be much better to have a separate towel station closer to the beach or pool. There is also a 7-Eleven just a short walk from the hotel, which is very convenient. Overall, it is a well-managed and comfortable hotel with a great beach, good breakfast, and excellent staff.

I strongly recommend Mercure Koh Samui. The hotel is lovely, right on the beach and in a great position. We stayed in the Beachfront Villa which was massive, beautifully finished, had a private pool and beachside access. But what sets this hotel apart from others, is the staff, particularly the reception. They were absolutely lovely, friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I mentioned in passing that it was my wife's birthday and they decorated the room beautifully and left us a gift. Every other member of staff was also lovely. In short, whilst there are a lot of hotels to choose from in Koh Samui, I strongly recommend the Mercure. Thank you for making our holiday special.

The entire reception team was absolutely amazing – incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Their kindness and professionalism made me feel comfortable and valued throughout my stay. A special thank you to the reception staff for their outstanding service and support. They were always attentive, helpful, and genuinely caring. What I especially appreciated was the warm and heartfelt goodbye when I checked out. The team took the time to personally say farewell, which made me feel truly appreciated as a guest and left a lasting positive impression. Thank you very much to the whole team for your exceptional hospitality. I will definitely return and happily recommend this hotel to family and friends.
