If you choose to go all inclusive, the programme generally consists of breakfast (8am to 10.30am), lunch (1pm to 3pm) and dinner (7pm to 9.30pm), all buffet style, served in the main restaurant. During meals soft drinks, beer, water and wine are usually offered. Locally produced alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks like water, wine, soft drinks, beer and spirits are usually served from 11am to 10pm (except during meal times).

Stunning hotel with lovely staff. We stayed in the Atlantic Suite which was perfect and then upgraded to the Penninsula Suite which had the best views over the ocean and funchal. We had a little kitchen with fridge as well as two bathrooms. Only criticism is the beds should be at least king size rather than two singles pushed together. The grounds were so well looked after. We walked to funchal and really enjoyed it. Fully recommend

We had a wonderful stay at The Cliff Bay. While there were a few minor things that felt a bit "classic," the overall experience, especially the service and amenities, was top-tier. ​The Highlights: ​The Facilities: The spa area is incredible. We spent a lot of time enjoying the swimming pools, saunas, and jacuzzis—everything was clean and very relaxing. The gardens are also beautifully maintained and offer a peaceful place to walk with stunning views. ​The Breakfast: Absolutely amazing. The variety and quality of the food were a highlight of our mornings. ​The Staff: The service here is truly special. They went above and beyond by providing a birthday cake for our daughter’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch that we really appreciated. ​The Room: ​Comfort: Our room was very spacious, and the beds were large and incredibly comfortable. We had plenty of space to relax. ​The Decor: If there is one downside, it’s that the furniture and carpets felt quite outdated. The room could definitely benefit from a modern refresh, but because it was so clean and comfortable, it didn't ruin our stay. ​Final Verdict: Despite the slightly dated decor in the rooms, the world-class facilities and the warmth of the staff make this a 5-star experience. We would definitely recommend it for a relaxing family getaway!

5 star luxury hotel. The sunbathing are down by the seafront is outstanding. Fantastic restaurant at the lower sunbathing area. Rooms are very spacious. We had a sea view balcony which was a ideal place to enjoy some madera wine and relax. Spa with indoor outdoor pool is luxurious.

Cliff Bay was exceptional in many ways. We stayed here for our honeymoon and showed up to an upgraded room and a bottle of chilled Champagne and chocolates waiting for us. The staff and service were top tier, the restaurants were world class and the view from the room was picture perfect and priceless. We travel often and honestly this may have been the best hotel we have ever stayed at. You definitely won’t regret booking here if you’re thinking about it.

A bit out of the centre but that is more them made up by the service and the quality of the hotel. The seating area around the indoor pool is a real bonus as it gives you somewhere to sit even when it's not particularly warm outside. The rooms are large, very clean and comfortable. Perhaps the best thing about the hotel is the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Excellent Breakfast I would definitely come back here. 😊
