First off, I want to say I know what a 5 star is in NYC or San Francisco. 5 star in the Caribbean is different. This is a wonderful experience if you want a small, quite, relaxed atmosphere. Yes the food is not over loaded with choice american style, but I found all the meals to be tasty and many unique vs my home in GA! In a very good way! Breakfast was always great and yes typical but what's wrong with that? Lunch nothing to write home about. Dinner was always different and we had no complaints. Dinner is not casual! They are clear about this contrary to a few complainer reviews. Slacks, sundress ect. No shorts. The restaurant is open air, very common throughout the Caribbean. Drinks are plentiful, employees range from nice to very nice and interactive and warm. The spa is small but we had a nice massage. She was wonderful, period. Again, don't listen to the whiners occasionally complaining. Rooms are nice, not over the top but no complaints. Comfortable and clean. Fridge is stocked and just ask if you need more or something different. The staff was ALWAYS ready to help. No exception. Great stay, beautiful sunsets, enjoyable days at pool.

I have been a loyal Marriott guest for many years and chose this property because I previously worked for Marriott and have always believed in the company’s commitment to exceptional hospitality and guest service. Unfortunately, this has been the first Marriott property where I have felt genuinely unwelcome. During our stay, we were refused seating for dinner because we were told we were not “dressed appropriately.” While I understand that restaurants may have dress codes, this is a beachfront resort, and the restaurant was nearly empty with only a handful of guests. I'd also like to point out that no where on their website or at the hotel is a dress code mentioned. Rather than making us feel welcome or offering a reasonable solution, we were simply turned away. We chose to eat off property for the remainder of our vacation, because we no longer felt welcome dining at the hotel. As a result, we were unable to take advantage of one of the primary amenities included in the all-inclusive package that we had paid for. The experience worsened three days into our stay when the electricity in our room went out. Maintenance was unable to restore power that evening and assured us someone would return first thing the following morning. No one ever did. By the afternoon, I had to visit the front desk myself to ask for an update because no one had communicated with us. Only after I inquired were we offered another room. We ultimately went approximately two and a half days without electricity in our room, which was an unacceptable inconvenience. Throughout the entire situation, there was no proactive communication, no meaningful apology, and no apparent sense of urgency from the staff. Overall, the level of customer service we experienced was among the worst I have encountered. The staff consistently came across as rude, unprofessional, and indifferent to guest concerns. I have stayed at many resorts over the years and have never felt so unwelcome. This experience fell far below the standards I have come to expect, particularly from a property operating under the Marriott brand. After years of choosing Marriott properties around the world, I never expected to leave one feeling this disappointed. This experience has fallen far below the Marriott standard that I have always known, and based on this stay, I would not recommend this property to others visiting Barbados. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously so future guests receive the warm, welcoming experience that Marriott has built its reputation on. Note: I reached out to the hotel and General Manager (Rajarshi Ganguly) numerous times and have not heard back.

We loved our week in Barbados because we were looking for a very chill and elegant, yet casual environment and this is exactly what the House delivered. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was great and we were surprised with a complimentary massage. We enjoyed the beautiful clear waters with a ride on the mini catamaran and a glass bottom boat off the back beach. The other guests were so lovely. It really was a relaxing trip!

We stayed at The House in March 26 - our first time to Barbados. The hotel is in a perfect location – easy access to Bridgetown by bus, or a stroll north to Speightstown. I was concerned that a 10-night stay in an all-inclusive hotel would see us eating from the same menu every day, but that wasn’t the case at all. Lunch and dinner was superb and always beautifully presented. Breakfast was a little underwhelming by comparison, but with complimentary fizz, I could live with that! The terrace was such a stunning place to watch the sun go down on the horizon with drink in hand. Another highlight was the care, courtesy and good-humour of the staff. Almost everyone left a positive impression on us, with a tip of the cap to: Shanaynay, Nickelle, Wade, Aleysha, Shane, Kristin, Leeandrew and Sheena.

We had a brief but absolutely perfect two-night stay at the House in Barbados, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful this experience was. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was top-notch—the people here are genuinely some of the kindest and most welcoming we have ever met! Jason, you have a great team! The service was simply excellent. Shane was the first to greet us, but every staff member was attentive and professional, ensuring that even during a short stay, every detail was taken care of. A side benefit - there is a water taxi that will take you to other properties. The food was another major highlight. Each meal was a treat, featuring fresh ingredients and incredible local flavors that rivaled any fine dining experience. Whether it was a quick bite or a full dinner, everything was delicious! It would be nice if there was a workout room but I was able to use the property 2 doors down. Since it was so early, one of the staff members even walked me there to make sure I had no issues with access. If you are looking for a place with great people, stellar service, and beautiful sunsets, this is it. We are already planning our next (and much longer) visit!
