This hotel is a good one depending on the needs of your stay. If you are willing to take the trains to your desired destinations around the city I’d say it’s a great option. It’s located next to a train station, and it’s adjacent to food in vibrant alley way were locals hang and it has a nice grocery store attached. My daughter and I were in the area to visit Orange St. and typically we like to stay walking distance from our desired destination. We were train stationed out after using the train to get from Tokyo to Osaka, so we had to use UBER and that adds up quick. Our room was very small, compared to the rooms we are used to. The size of the room wasn’t a big deal, I just felt the pictures on Expedia were slightly misleading. Let me really reiterate the property is definitely a good one, it just didn’t fit my travel needs. Also the service is Great

The windows can not be opened, there's no fresh air.!! I was very disappointed with this hotel. The entire hotel smells dusty and feels extremely stuffy. The windows in the rooms cannot be opened, so it’s impossible to get any fresh air. I believe the air conditioning filters have not been cleaned or replaced for a long time because the AC was blowing dust into the room. The bad smell stays trapped inside since there is no ventilation, and many parts of the room were dusty as well. I couldn’t sleep at night because of the lack of fresh air and it also triggered my allergies. In my opinion, this hotel definitely does not deserve the price. It’s also worth researching the location carefully before booking. We could not reach many tourist attractions directly with a single ride, which made transportation inconvenient. On the positive side, there are markets and restaurants around the hotel and the area is quite lively. We were also satisfied with the staff, they were polite and helpful.

The rooms are smaller than American size hotels, but we didn't mind. Our twin room accommodated us well. We absolutely loved the design of the room and the clever underbed storage nook. The hotel is located next to a grocery store and several restaurants. The location is great for travel on the Osaka Loop Line.

Excellent hotel, great value, great staff, good location, and good amenities. The free laundry was a great bonus, and the in room TV was very modern and up to date which made nightly relaxing nice. Staff was very helpful with shipping our luggage and receiving our shipped luggage. Location is very good, close to a train station, good spot for taxi/uber pick up too. There are several very good restaurants walking distance and several right across the street, including a grocery store! Room is quite large and very modern and up to date. Awesome shower/bathroom! Very spacious. We booked a double room but the bed was either a king or queen size, maybe they changed the room when they saw I was checking in and over 6ft, or maybe they just have big beds! Highly recommend this hotel, if we're back in this area we'll be staying here again! Edit- we're back here again 5 months later! Favorite hotel of both of our journeys, we're staying 6 nights this time because we liked this place so much. Once again staff has been great, laundry service is much appreciated as well. Bed is still comfortable with the best pillows we've had on our stay. It's hot this time of year and the whole hotel has been cool which is great when coming back from being out and about. Still recommend this hotel!

Stayed at Hotel Hanshin Annex Osaka for 6 nights during my recent trip to Osaka for the first time. Location wise was perfect; the hotel was a straight road (~200m) walk down from Fukushima Station, with many food options (izakayas, chain restaurants like Yoshinoya, Sushiro, McDonald's etc) within walkable distance. There was also a 7-11 and supermarket (Oasis) located a stone’s throw away. From Fukushima train station, it is one stop away from Osaka Station, with many departmental stores, shopping and food options. All the other touristy spots are also easily accessible by train. Hotel wise, the room is what you would normally expect from a hotel in Japan, rooms are small but sufficient for a solo traveller like myself (I booked a Double Room, non-smoking). I paid around $130 per night for my room, and I was going in with the expectations of it being a 3 star hotel - and it was exactly that. Room was relatively clean and well designed to make use of every inch of space, bed was comfortable - shower was great, had good water pressure and temperature controls. Hotel provides complementary water and refills, and hygiene essentials (e.g. shavers, hair brushes and toothbrushes) were self-service at the reception, which was nice. My room didn’t have much views of the city, so I can’t comment on that. If I really had to nitpick, there are some spots in the room which were collecting dust (e.g. vents in the shower, door hinges), and I found a few nail clippings and stray hairs on the platform beside the bed on my first night. Again, with it being a 3 star hotel, these are things I am willing to overlook. Reception staff were nice and accommodating and I was able to store my luggage at the hotel since I arrived a bit early before check in was available. Overall an okay stay, would not be my first choice if returning - but I enjoyed my time here.
