I recently visited this beautiful resort to treat my friend to a spa day for her birthday, and the entire experience was absolutely wonderful. The property itself is spectacular — from the stunning views to the peaceful ambiance, everything feels luxurious and relaxing the moment you arrive. We also had the chance to explore the resort, which made the day even more special. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. They even helped me organize a little birthday surprise for my friend, which meant so much and made the day unforgettable for both of us. That level of hospitality truly stands out. Overall, it was a breathtaking experience from start to finish, and I already can’t wait to come back — especially to try their ladies’ day special next time.

I recently booked a pool day at Bab Al Shams and, considering how expensive it was (including the long and costly journey there and back), I do feel obliged to leave a fair review. The hotel itself is beautiful and the desert setting is stunning, especially if you’re looking to escape the city. Most of the staff were genuinely very helpful — particularly when it came to arranging taxis back, as it was difficult to book one through Hala. They really made an effort, which I appreciated. However, I was quite disappointed with the overall experience. One thing I really didn’t expect was how loud it was. Where I was laid out, there were a lot of children around the pool, and while that’s absolutely fine, it just wasn’t the peaceful atmosphere I had anticipated for the price. On top of that, there was a live singer performing at a nearby restaurant, and the music carried across the pool area. It just didn’t feel calm or serene — which is what I thought I was paying for. The food was also disappointing. Although your pool day payment includes credits towards food, the prices are very high — around AED 120 for a main — and unfortunately the quality didn’t match the price. I ordered the souvlaki and it was very bland, lacking flavour and seasoning, which was frustrating given the setting and cost. I also had an uncomfortable interaction with one receptionist when I politely asked about the camp area outside (which looked lovely, with what seemed like a fire show and small souk being set up). He was unnecessarily blunt and patronising in his tone, simply saying “it’s a restaurant” and that I could book, without offering any further information. He seemed eager to end the conversation and walked off quickly, which felt unwelcoming and disappointing as a paying guest. Overall, the location itself is beautiful and most of the staff were helpful, but for the price point, I expected better food quality, a more peaceful atmosphere, and more consistently warm customer service.

What a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect. The food the staff the facilities, really everything. Room was beautiful and very comfortable. Definitely hot so enjoy a walk at sunrise. It is very refreshing to see the desert without feeling the extreme heat. I recommend early morning and evening activities. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a really wonderful time here! Really enjoyed the dining options (every single restaurant we tried here was good) and the activities. The free camel ride was quite good. Free falconry show was decent. The paid activities are excellent. We did the private falconry as well as the desert drive. Learnt about falconry and the history, as well as the chance to interact with a falcon and a hawk. The highlight for us though was definitely the desert drive. Super fun (and we had to tone it down since the wife was pregnant, so I can only imagine how thrilling it can be if we didn't). The guide, Umar, was very kind and helped to take memorable photos of us too. Our son had a wonderful time on the desert drive. The spa is excellent too, did both the massage and the hammam and it's so relaxing. Finally, the staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Great stay and definitely the highlight of our Dubai trip!
