We arrived on Nov 20 and was given a bottom room which we rejected....Ingrid at checkin moved us to a 2nd floor ....with ease and it translated to a very pleasant stay .Room always was clean ,comfortable and everything worked. The resort is well kept....staff always cleaning...very impressed. Restaurants esp the buffet was excellent and the wait staff were very mannerly and attentive...everyone was a standout. The ala carte restaurants were impressive in decor and food service was not bad.It serves it purpose to those who relish fine dining.AtDan Pablo our server Paolini was a stand out. The entertainment team were excellent and once you got involved it was rewarding. Night shows were good ... Bottom line is...I highly rate this resort ...beach was swimmable and very sandy in some areas . The customer service reps promptly replied to m6 emails prior to being there. Well managed resort and managemen5 should take a bow!

We had a wonderful 1 whole week in this hotel (grand tulum) and we can’t thank enough all the people who worked in here. We received great service! Everyone welcomed us with their smile and their famous “Ola!” Though we were not able to try the ala carte, we were satisfied with the food we had in the buffet at Yucatan. Shout out to our fave servers Saul and Reinaldo and our bartender at the truck,Jose! They were all great. Plus all the cleaners, excellent cleaning service that we have to give tip every single day because they deserve it. To the management, please do take care of your staffs, they were all great! Til we visit again! :)

5-Star Review – Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, (Room 4923) We still have two days left of our vacation, but I couldn’t wait until we got home to write this review – I had to share while everything is still fresh! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. Marco at the front desk checked us in and he was an absolute gem – friendly, professional, and answered all of our questions with a smile. The check-in process was quick and seamless. Thank you, Marco! We sadly never caught the name of our housekeeper (Building 49, Room 4923), but she was truly outstanding. Every single day our room was spotless before we even returned from the beach, and she always greeted us with warmth and a big smile. Whenever we needed anything, the team at Guest Services was incredibly helpful and patient. A special mention has to go to the buffet staff who made every meal a joy – Olivia was wonderful at breakfast and lunch, but Patricia deserves the biggest shout-out of all. This woman is a superstar! She and her team took such amazing care of us at dinner every night. We never had to wait for drinks, water, extra cutlery – nothing. Patricia remembered exactly what we liked and made us feel so special. On our very last dinner tonight, she completely surprised us by decorating our table with rose petals and fresh flowers. We have traveled all over the world and stayed at many resorts, and no one has ever done anything like that for us before. We were speechless – it was such a beautiful, thoughtful gesture. Patricia, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You helped end our two-week vacation on the perfect high note. We are already planning our next trip back. Bahia Principe Akumal, you’ve won us over completely – largely thanks to your incredible staff who treat guests like family. Highly recommend! Nice resort. We have been several times over the last 18 years. Quality started to slide until the big renovation through Covid. After the renovation it was excellent, everything was new and good was amazing. It’s been a few years since their big renovation and things are starting to deteriorate again with the food quality and maintenance. The service however has never changed which is part of why we always come back. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. It’s a good resort for kids and families (all ages). Always something to do. Not overly crowded, but could be because of the economy (came at end of November 2025).

My partner and I stayed at the Bahia Grand Tulum for 6 days. We had a great experience the moment we got off of the plane. We pre-booked our transportation through the hotel and communication was maintained up until arrival. When we got to the airport, we knew to look for an Amstar representative for our ride to the hotel. The driver was professional, and we felt safe during our ride. Upon arrival to the hotel, the check-in process was efficient. We got in late and were encouraged to check out the buffet before they closed for the night which was a lovely consideration after having travelled several hours. When we checked in at the priviledge club lounge everyone there was extremely kind, helpful and informative; Lulu, Alejandro, Gabby and Marino to name a few. Throughout our stay the names listed above ensured that my partner and I had everything we needed to ensure an enjoyable stay. The food experience was one of our favourites!!! We pre-booked several dinner resevations about 5 days in advance before arriving. This is highly recommended as reservations fill up fast and openings are few and far in between. Dinner reservations are a good way to diversify your meals during your stay and great opportunity to try something new! The main buffet Yucatan was very clean and offered a variety of traditional Mexican dishes and more Americanized meals. I would suggest prioritizing the Mexican dishes you would not be disappointed. The buffet can get very busy the closer to the closing times so be sure to plan accordingly. Everyone working in the buffet is hustling and very kind, being respectful and reciprocating the same goes along way. There is a lovely lady named Emilia that works the breakfast/lunch buffet that gave us the best service while we were there. We had many other great servers whoms names I unfortunately can not remember. As privileged club members, we had the pleasure of exploring the other resorts and their buffets. All had their own unique vibe and depending on what you are looking for there is something for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the privilege club beach bar at Akumal. Antonio and Carlos just a few names to mention were friendly, kind and extremely efficient. Beach beds and cabanas were available on a first come first serve basis. Towels were accessible by the pools, in some cases they were a bit of a walk away from the beach fronts so organize accordingly to ensure you have your towels before settling down. Overall, we had a lovely time! We will be back and hope to check out and stay at the new resort Tequila! I wish that I could name everyone who was so kind and helpful throughout our trip I truly believe that they deserve to be recognized by name.
