Huge resort with private section of the beach and plenty of variety for activities, food and drink on site. In the main staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating to requests. We stayed for 3 weeks and have had a great time! Standout features and individuals were: Asana restaurant (Gloria, Luis, Karla and Keshar). Food here was so good that we came back 1/3 of the nights we were here!! - Mexican a la carte (Valentina) and Brazilian also very good - Fora in the guest services team was absolutely superb, very proactive and cheerful everyday! - Also Nico in the entertainment team. However, a few issues that prevent the full 5* for us: - The rooms in the adults only section are dated compared to the rest of the resort and wristband keys are erratic. - Restaurant booking is difficult and MUST be done well in advance... Without Fora's help, this would have been very frustrating. - Reception is always busy and extremely slow as never seems to have enough staff on. It's difficult to change larger notes that the cashpoint gives for smaller ones to tip as guest services don't hold cash for this, so you end up standing in the queue for 30 mins at reception, and they often don't have notes for change anyway. The hotel should have a dedicated money service for this.

We’ve been coming here for years, and Margarita has always been our absolute favorite waitress. She is warm, attentive, and always remembers us, which makes every visit feel special. Her kindness and great service truly make the experience unforgettable. A big shoutout as well to Oscar, the chef, who consistently makes some of the best food we’ve had at the resort. Every meal is delicious and clearly made with care and talent. And of course, Isaac and Pedro, the managers, do an incredible job making sure everything runs smoothly and that guests have the best possible experience. Their attention to detail and welcoming attitude really enhance the whole atmosphere. This team is a huge reason we love coming back. Thank you all for making every visit so enjoyable!

Great adult family vacation but Sandos needs to do better. They pay a lot of lip service to issues but with no actual attempt to rectify anything. We traveled in January and stayed in Adult Superior Select section, the rooms are dated and tired but the location on the beach is the reason we returned after a trip in 2020. Our daughter is pregnant and we requested bottled water for HER ROOM, the other 2 rooms we were fine with the water coolers even though the plugs were cut(in all three of our rooms) on the coolers which were not gravity fed coolers. We were told bottled water was not available and we could purchase in the gift shop( $12 US for 750ml) one of our rooms had two bottles in the room when we arrived. When we mentioned this we were told they were left by previous guests. Next day we went to store for water. Room 2 had two bottles after house keeping. I then went to ask again and said I had seen the water, I was told it was a welcome only, our third room didn't receive any so please send it we asked. We were told they would send ONLY TWO, no more. We gave all the bottles to pregnant daughter, her room never received promised water even though we talked to Westjet Rep, concierge at the meeting place, concierge for the Select Club, and even our travel agent called and was told there was NO BOTTLES allowed in the resort. SHAME ON ALL OF the staff who lied.. Very difficult to make reservations for dining on the app, 2 people in our party of 6 were able to get us reservations but we spent a lot of time trying. We are not buffet people so the difficulty was a big negative. As well some restaurants did not have menus and you HAD to use a qr code. Not an ideal situation for our party. Now the great things, fabulous food at the Mexican, Italian, French and Indian restaurants. Also the staff at all of these were great. Premium Select bar Daniel, classy and charming you are wonderful, as was the young man who was working on your day off. Adult Pool and adult Select beach, bar service clearly lacking staff, they cleaned up cups but be ready to get your own drinks and for long line ups at times when doing so. The staff in the Adult Select breakfast venue, all of them were FANTASTIC and started our day on a positive note, the cook at the egg station made this place SHINE!!! We looked forward to starting our day with her PERFECT omelets and eggs. Again the beach is incredible and the ocean perfect!!

We just spent the week at Sandos Playacar and had a great experience. The staff were absolutely amazing throughout our stay. We did have a few minor issues and concerns, but they were dealt with quickly and with out an issues. The food at Fogo Brazilian Steakhouse was outstanding and easily one of the highlights of our trip. Our waiters Alfredo and Jordan, made our dinner experience even more memorable with their excellent service and fun nature. The kids had a great time. Thanks again. We will definitely return!

We are staying for 9 days. I love the location. Beach area is amazing and clean. As a royal elite member, I have few comments: The pool area for the members is small. There are no enforcement of making sure that select members or kids to be in that area. Service: service is OK, I have seen worst. Restaurants: good variety of restaurants with good service, a bit slow but good overall. Food is decent.
