Such a beautiful stay ❤️ We had the best time at Barceló Bávaro Beach! The staff were honestly so warm, kind and welcoming, they made us feel so special throughout our stay. For my birthday, they even sent a beautiful letter along with cakes, which was such a sweet and unexpected touch. The night celebrations, live bands, dancing and overall atmosphere were so much fun! Everything just felt happy, lively and welcoming. Definitely leaving with some beautiful memories and would love to come back! ✨

**Barceló Bávaro Beach – Solid all-inclusive with a few clear areas for improvement** Stayed: August 7–12, 2026 | Room 4086 | Booked via Costco Travel (Premium Guest status) My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. Overall we had a very good time and would consider returning, though a few things keep it from being a perfect experience. **The good** The property is beautifully maintained and kept clean. The pool area is excellent—large, well-kept, and inviting. The beach itself is lovely when it’s clear, and the resort deserves real credit for the constant early-morning and nighttime cleanups during sargassum season. They clearly put in the effort so guests can still enjoy the beach. Food at the buffets is abundant and covers a wide range of tastes and dietary needs. You won’t go hungry. Tropical fruit was always available and excellent. The bed in our room was huge and extremely comfortable, with clean, high-quality sheets and pillows. Wi-Fi was strong enough to stream shows without issues (we used a Roku dongle). Staff throughout the resort were consistently friendly. We used several of the included à la carte restaurants (book early—they fill up). The Mexican restaurant was a pleasant surprise and one of the highlights of the trip. Portions at the specialty restaurants are more European-sized than American, but you can order additional dishes. **Where it falls short** The rooms are clean but feel dated. Ours had clearly been painted many times over the years, and the overall layout and finishes are ready for a refresh. Replacing the bathtub with a proper walk-in shower would be a big improvement. The air conditioning works well, but the control panel feels cheap and outdated. Buffet service was a bit overbearing—servers constantly stopped by to refill water glasses even when we didn’t need or want it. Desserts were generally bland. The Japanese/Teppanyaki restaurant was a disappointment. We saw a cockroach, waited a long time to be seated, and the overall experience didn’t justify the time. (In fairness, this isn’t unique to this resort—similar issues happen at many teppanyaki places.) The water spa was poorly managed. Even though we had a scheduled time, no one was there when we arrived, and staff simply handed us towels with zero guidance on how to use the different stations. Simple numbered signs would solve this instantly. English fluency among staff is limited, which is surprising given how many American and Canadian guests are here. There’s also a large European contingent, so the beach atmosphere can occasionally feel a bit more free-spirited than some North American guests might expect (it’s an adults-oriented resort, so nothing shocking, but worth noting). **Bottom line** Barceló Bávaro Beach delivers a clean, well-run all-inclusive experience with strong value, especially when booked through Costco Travel. The grounds, pool, beach maintenance, and Mexican restaurant stood out. Room renovations, better specialty-restaurant consistency, and improved spa organization would elevate it further. We left happy and would recommend it with the caveats above.

I absolutely loved this resort and will definitely be returning. I feel it is well worth the money. If you’re planning a stay, I recommend booking directly through the hotel’s reservation department to get the best value and available package options. We upgraded to an exclusive package that included premium liquor and beer, access to top-quality dining experiences, and personalized butler service. Our butler was outstanding and made sure our room was well taken care of throughout our stay. The refrigerator was kept fully stocked with drinks at all times, which added an extra level of convenience and luxury to our vacation.

This resort is so much fun! I especially enjoyed the entertainment services! Yandeiry and her crew were so much fun! We did water exercises and dancing in the pool, which brought all of us guests closer and together. They also hosted a karaoke and dancing night, engaging all the guests. She and her crew truly made the experience worth while.

Great location and good property but Definitely Would not stay again. (1) limited food choices for vegetarian, very poor food quality (2) no staff speaks English except front desk , tons of miscommunication at the restaurants, couple times we didn’t get what we ordered, Ordered vegetarian dish at the Mediterranean restaurant, got non-veg dish and nobody could explain what it was. Manager was not around (3) no beach umbrellas, only shades from tall palm trees (4) bartenders at the pool bar not friendly.
