Impressive Premium Punta Cana

Impressive Punta Cana is a 900 room all-inclusive hotel with some lovely staff and a perfect location right on the beach. Bear in mind a lot of seaweed can cover the beach, which is constantly being removed. The beach was not very crowded and there were ample amount of lounge chairs available. The hotel also has a Premium service which you can pay to upgrade to, giving you access to other areas and restaurants. My son and I stuck to the standard service. I had a bit of a bumpy start as I had booked an ocean view room but I ended up with a view of the pool and bar with the ocean obscured. I made a complaint and they changed the room the next day. It was a bit better but still obscured by trees. The actual ocean view rooms are the junior suites which I think is a bit misleading. Also before I could go to my room, I was accosted by Querby who took me to the tour seller even though I said I was tired. I did end up booking some excursions which I have reviewed elsewhere. The next day, I was told I would have 'breakfast' with a rep from the Heritage Travel Club. I was getting time share vibes and I asked if I was going to be sold anything but Querby did not explain. When I got there I was told it was a membership which involved paying a fee. Right off the bat I said I was not interested so did not want to do the tour. Querby got annoyed and was quite rude which I mentioned in the hotel survey. Apart from that, all the other staff were lovely, from the room cleaning staff, the restaurant staff and the bell boys. Tipping is well appreciated, so bring your dollars. The main bedroom was spacious with a balcony. The bathroom could do with a bit of modernisation. Also, toilet paper needs to be placed in the basket available, not in the toilet due to clogging issues. Tap water also should not be drank or used to brush teeth. The buffet serves traditional Dominican food, of bean stews, as well as desserts, fruits, vegetables and salads, pasta, rice etc. I found the food quite monotonous and the meats quite dry. The hotel itself is very lively with music in the bars, the foyer by the pools where aqua aerobics takes place even in the buffet restaurant. I found it a bit too noisy at night as our room was right next to the bar at the sea front. There was even a cleaner who sweeps outside and he is singing very loudly quite early in the morning before 7am and noise carries a lot from the corridors. The are a few English speaking staff so we were able to get our needs met. Over all, the hotel is a beautiful well kept resort which could do with a few modern touches as mentioned. I personally would have preferred some where a bit quieter.

Dear all, I think it's important to know that this hotel manages to be top-tier mainly thanks to the people here! 🤗 The accommodation is excellent... large, clean rooms and top-notch security. In my opinion, it's definitely a 5-star hotel. While there is always room for improvement, I won't go into details here. 😎😬 ​I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Santo in particular. He is a true professional, always available, and the kind of person who gets everything done—no matter how demanding you might be as a tourist! He is simply wonderful! ​Beyond that, I cannot leave out Luna, a highly skilled manager ready to handle any request and solve any existing problem! I also want to mention the entertainment team, the bartenders, and even the security staff. My utmost respect to you all! 🫡🙏 ​About the hotel, I can tell you this: it's worth choosing for a truly relaxing vacation! I highly recommend the Premium package. 😎😉 ​Thank you to everyone! We had a family group trip for a week and it was good, all expectations were met. The hotel even though it’s old it still managed to keep up with today needs. The premises are 5/5 The location 5/5 The sunrise 6/5 The beach 5/5 The Customer service 10/5 The general ambiance (energy) 5/5 All employees are incredibly friendly and always ready to help you have a good time, always trying to help with a great smile and chill energy. I had a couple of issues while staying there and the customer service desk reacted beyond the duty I expected: I’ve lost my cellphone, credit card, glasses and some other stuff because yes: I was very drunk at certain point (I had a lot of fun!!) and when I realized they already had my stuff waiting for me, nothing lost and with a great smile (shoutout for Joanie! 🫶🏼); second issue was a reimbursement to get done because the credit card I’ve paid for the trip got replaced before I go on my holidays and then I had a bit of a situation and then had to pay again when I get there. It was very stressful because the time passed and the front desk couldn’t help me as much as I would like BUT! Carla the manager from Customer Service got her hands busy and resolved the issue with patience and professionalism, it was awesome: two minutes into talking with her my peace of mind returned and the problem got a solution right away. Seriously, I’ve been in many resorts “All inclusive” and while the dynamic is just the same as any other resort this one is a must return for me. If you want a guaranteed “good experience” i recommend. I had to go but I actually considered to stay another week, I gotta go back home I but leave a piece of my heart at this ressort. 💯 Carla (Customer Service manager) you are the best!! 🫶🏼

What a wonderful week. It was our first time in DR We stayed on the premium side and it was worth every penny! Private check in and check out, butler service, own breakfast and lunch buffet in the premium building (food was repetitive but delicious, hot and fresh), premium pool (nicest one on resort), premium beach (was well maintained and we were able to get shaded seats everyday even around 11am), premium beach bar (all premium bars had top shelf liquor), there were premium only activities (hat making, clay sculpture making, rhum tasting, foam party and much more), premium also gets you free room service, pillow menu and turn down service. The resort offered some fabulous evening entertainment (our favorites were Queen Tribute band and the Circus show) We had the opportunity to learn some Spanish as there is a language barrier but that did not change the wonderful service we had during our stay. The grounds were well kept, the resort was organized. All à la carte’s offered huge portions. The only downfall for us was the beach waters are rough, there is seaweed, some coral and lots of boat traffic. It is important to avoid seaweed season if you want ocean time. This is not a 5 star resort but for those who are on a budget premium will definitely make the stay feel luxurious. A big shout out to Slaine our premium lounge bartender - thank you for putting up with our evening card games and making us some fabulous drinks. To Israel our butler who booked all our à la cartes and ensured our stay was comfortable. To our animators 911 and Strawberry you sure now how to get the crowd going and to ensure everyone is having a great time.

Our stay at Impressive Punta Cana was an absolute nightmare from start to finish, and if you are expecting a proper resort experience, you should look elsewhere. We specifically chose this hotel to celebrate my partner’s 30th birthday and exchanged multiple emails weeks in advance. Although the staff promised a birthday surprise on his exact special day, they completely failed to deliver. To make matters worse, management later falsely claimed they had left the amenities in our room on our arrival day, which was a total lie as we never received anything. The issues, however, run much deeper than just ruined celebrations. The room we were given was completely unacceptable and incredibly dirty - full of bugs, cobwebs, heavy dust, and bed sheets that looked and felt as if they hadn't been changed in months. Our health was also severely compromised; my partner and I suffered from severe digestive issues and unbearable stomach pains for days, which only stopped after we completely cut out mixed foods, warm fruits, and processed items from the buffet. The resort grounds are equally disappointing. The pool area was so visibly dirty and smelled so strongly of harsh chemicals that we didn't dare to step foot in it even once. There is also absolutely no control over the "Premium" status, as non-premium guests were constantly using premium facilities and perks for free, making the whole upgrade system a total scam. To top it all off, customer service is nonexistent if you speak English, often resulting in total disrespect or being completely ignored. Even the entertainment team was a joke; they seemed completely uninterested in their jobs, and when we agreed to play beach volleyball, it turned out none of the animators even knew how to play, yet they aggressively forced everyone to play seriously, completely ruining the fun. Due to this horrific experience, we sent an email officially canceling our upcoming second reservation for June and explicitly asked for a confirmation. True to their terrible hospitality standards, they completely ignored our email and ghosted us without ever sending a reply. We refuse to return to a resort that treats its guests, hygiene, and health with such complete disregard. Save your money, your health, and your nerves - go somewhere else.
