Barceló Santiago - Adults Only

We stayed at Barceló Santiago for two weeks and had a really wonderful stay. A few things, though, could use improvement. Before we arrived, I messaged the hotel to request a room on a higher floor, and they fulfilled the request. We had a wonderful room on the 5th floor. The room was very spacious and tastefully designed, with a large balcony offering a beautiful view of La Gomera. The room was very clean, and the amazing cleaning staff did a fantastic job every day keeping it spotless. The pools were very spacious, and there were always enough sun loungers available. Swimming in the pools or relaxing by them while enjoying beautiful views of Los Gigantes and Mount Teide was a wonderful experience. I also really enjoyed the activities offered by the Entertainment Team, who were always friendly and in a good mood. I especially loved both the candle-making and jewellery-making workshops. The instructors were kind and helpful, and I came home with two beautiful souvenirs and reminders of my stay. There were parts of the hotel where you could tell that some renovation is necessary. For example, every morning, we had a bunch of drywall falling onto our balcony. Some areas of the hotel and the room also showed visible signs of wear and tear. We had half-board booked, and breakfast was my favorite part. There was a great variety of dishes and foods to choose from, and they changed some things, such as the potatoes or sausages, so there was still plenty of variety. The dinners were also tasty, and the different themes offered lots of variety. When it came to the food, however, there were some minor nuisances. For example, the hotel could work on the labelling of the food, as it wasn't always clear, and sometimes things were not labelled at all or were labelled incorrectly. The food also tended to get cold quite quickly. We showed up for dinner every day right when it opened, and quite often, some of the food was already no longer warm. That being said, the taste was still good for the most part. There could also be some variations in quality. For example, one night I had some fried chicken, and one of the pieces was so overly salty that it tasted like nothing but salt. Another time, the French fries were really soggy and seemed to not be fully cooked. Overall, though, these things did not take away from us having an amazing stay at this wonderful hotel with its very friendly staff. I would definitely return!

We had a great holiday in October and visited here for the second time. Staff were wonderful - polite, timely, and helpful. The place was very clean. Nice walks along to the harbour, natural pools, and beach. Reasonable gym facilities. Enjoyable food and wide range of drinks choices. The only negative is that the music from a bar (Route 66) was ridiculously loud and went on some nights until gone midnight. If we didn't have noise-cancelling headphones with us, I don't know how we'd have gotten any sleep- I think Barcelo need to do something about this.

If you like friendly staff and a spectacular oceanview, this hotel is definitely a good choice for you. However, if you love peace and quiet—which is exactly what you would expect from a 4-star Adults Only hotel—I strongly recommend booking a room at another hotel on this beautiful island. Most rooms face the ocean and the impressive cliffs of Los Gigantes. The entertainment area is located between the ocean and the hotel, meaning that every single room is subjected to the loud noise and heavy beats. And this happens every night, until the late hours! Getting a quiet night's sleep is virtually impossible. We had to wear earplugs, but the bass was so intense that it barely made a difference. In short: stunning views, but zero peace and quiet. Combined with substandard food and a management team that clearly doesn't care about guest satisfaction, we cannot recommend this hotel. Save your money and find a place where you can actually enjoy your well deserved vacation.

Amazing stay at Barceló Santiago! The location is stunning, right by Los Gigantes. Our sea-view room had breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains. The food was abundant, fresh and delicious, especially the seafood dinners. Beautiful grounds! Special thanks to the fantastic animation team for the 11am yoga, stretching and Pilates! The service was unforgettable, and the staff did everything possible to make our stay truly wonderful and memorable. I would definitely give this hotel five stars rather than four!

My dad and I had a wonderful stay at Barcelo Santiago. Everything was excellent—from the clean and comfortable room to the beautiful sea views. The hotel was well maintained, and the atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. What truly made our experience special was the staff. Everyone was kind, friendly, and professional, but we would especially like to thank Rodrigo at reception. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm. He explained everything clearly and professionally, making us feel welcome right away. His positive attitude and exceptional customer service created such a great first impression that we felt at home immediately. Rodrigo’s welcoming energy, together with the kindness of the rest of the staff, made our stay memorable. We would happily return to this hotel, and people like Rodrigo are a big reason why.
