Blue Bay Resort Hotel

We stayed at the Blue Bay for 7 nights. We ended up arriving late due to a storm over the airport and from our very first interaction with staff it couldn't have gone better. The receptionist sorted our key and bands out in no time at all and also supplied us with a food parcel each because we arrived after the evening meal. The room had an amazing view of the bay and beyond to Heraklion along the coast. It was clean, well presented and everything we could want. The hotel itself was spotless throughout and the services and amenities were great. The food was absolutely superb with plenty of choices every time, we only ended up eating away from the hotel on 2 occasions as the food was so good and one of those was because we were on a day trip to Knossos and Heraklion. While some say the inclusive drinks package is limited, we found it more than fine, the Minoan beer definitely deserves a mention for it's light taste and easy drinkability. The location definitely lends itself to a quieter trip away which is exactly what we were looking for. The little bay below the hotel was just perfect and a 20 minute walk over to the village was well worth the stroll. The pool area is just lovely and in October when we went there was plenty of room. The entertainment was plenty for what we were after too. In summary, if you want great food, amazing views, staff that never fail to please and a super relaxing time, head for The Blue Bay at Agia Pelagia.

A beautiful location with marvellous views, between several beaches and a shopping street. The facilities are excellent and the service with a smile was a constant at all levels - literally as the resort is on a hill. Multiple swimming pools and two bars. Evening entertainment was fun and professional with a variety of acts. The all inclusive wine and drinks including soft drinks could definitely be better though. The restaurant is large with sun terraces to choose from. The food and number of different dishes are wonderful.

Great place to stay. The hotel rooms are nice, rhe staff is friendly and helpful, there are all the necessary accomodations, the veach is small but great and there are cats here too. I should especially mention the great food. I couldnt stop myself from gathering massive plates of food every time I came for a meal because I couldnt just choose one dish - they were all mouth-watering. Compliments to the chef! I enjoyed my stay here and can recommend this place for everyone who wants to have a calm relaxing vacation.

It's been a great week at the Blue Bay resort. Cold refreshments upon arrival within the reception area. We arrived very late and we're shown to our room with a bag of sandwiches and snacks which was appreciated. The room was very basic, but clean and has been cleaned daily. There is a small fridge but no tea or coffee facility. It's approximately 100 steps up from our room to the pool area so if you have mobility difficulties you will need to be aware of this. The pool area is lovely, open from 10am to 6pm. Drinks served till 11pm. Pizza, cakes & ice cream also available. Its well attended to, with shower, coffee and water stations close by. Some nights they have a D.J till 11pm The main restaurant for AI is up another approx 40 stairs, then into a lift. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are set times. The food can be a little repetitive but there is enough variety to cater for all. There is indoors and outdoor seating, with smoking available. There is a shop located within the reception area which is good to stock up on your basics. You'll need water for your room. Monofalitis beach is 5 minutes walk down a steep, steep hill but there is a shuttle available. The beach is small but delightful. The sea is so clear and tranquil and there are a few restaurants and souvenir shops here too. Sunbeds are about 10 euros. The staff are all friendly and welcoming within Blue Bay. I would argue this is not a four star resort, but definitely a three star. The sea views are unreal and the location is perfect, 35 minute transfer from Heraklion. However some parts are a little outdated, and if you are not based it the main hotel then you'll have a lot of walking to do.

Good location on the map, 2 small stone beaches in the near, 3/4pools restaurant terrace is very nice in the sunset. If you are not in the main building, regardless of all inclusive or not, to get easy drinking water isnt that easy. Stairways or "long" walking paths. Recommend to ask for a main building room, otherwise skip. Could be lil more animation or activities for children, otherwise i would recommend this for young couples. From Iraklion a Bus is driving there directly, which is very nice to have a cheap fare. All-in buffet is standart but reall, good and wholesome.
