I have stayed at Casa de Campo twice with a separation of 5 years. While much is still the same, the service has gone down drastically at the resturants and bars. Expect to wait, and wait somemore. Expect it to be nearly imposible to make reservations at any of the resort owned resturants. In fact, I wasnt able to make a single reservation the entire 5 nights I was there. One would question, if you buy the "all inclusive" package but cant get into a resturant, is it worth it. It appears people are told to reserve tables months in advanced and many never show up. The resort holds these reservations even though no one shows up. So either complete incompetence with the food and bev department OR they do this to conserve on food/money, forcing you to order room service. The property is beautiful and if you have a chance to upgrade to a Villa, I would recommend it (what I did) vs the regular rooms. Overall, I would not recommend this resort until they resolve the service and resturant reservation issues. This was an overwhelming theme with all I spoke to onsite.

Casa de Campo Hotel is truly special — we absolutely love it here. It’s incredibly family-friendly and perfect for traveling with babies. The kiddy pool is amazing and made our stay so easy and enjoyable. I’m also obsessed with the gym — one of the best resort gyms I’ve experienced. And Lagos breakfast… wow. Easily one of the highlights of the trip — everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully done. Between the amenities, atmosphere, and overall experience, this place is top tier. Already looking forward to coming back.

We stayed in a private villa with our extended family and it was an absolute dream. Having our own golf carts made zipping around to Minitas Beach Club and the pools so much fun. The villa staff, Maria Rodriguez and Elvis M. took flawless care of us, cooking amazing breakfasts in our home every morning and keeping the villa perfect for the family. The staff were friendly, professional and very helpful. From the wedding at the stunning Altos de Chavón artisan village to Minitas Beach, there was something for everyone. Highly recommend this spot for a luxurious, secure family getaway!"

Absolute nightmare! Ruined birthday, aggressive staff, and unbelievable incompetence I have visited Casa de Campo multiple times and I actually live in the Dominican Republic, so I know what local hospitality should look like. But after my recent experience, I will NEVER spend another cent here, and I highly advise everyone to stay away. My friend bought me a stay here as a birthday gift. Everything went downhill the moment I arrived: 2 hours trapped at the entrance: The staff refused to let me onto the property because they "couldn't find" the reservation. At the same time, if you typed the reservation number and email on their own official website, the booking appeared instantly! They told me I "understood nothing" and demanded emails. The Email Circus: Over the course of 2 hours, we sent about 50 emails. They claimed they didn't receive them, gave us new email addresses every time, and openly admitted that the addresses listed on their website were outdated and didn't work! Aggressive and rude staff: The staff were shouting, being extremely hostile, and didn't even think to apologize for my wasted time. For all this time, they refused to call a manager, leaving me with an incompetent 20-year-old supervisor who acted like it was his first day on the job. Ignored requests: It turns out my friend had been emailing them for three days prior to my arrival, asking to decorate the room for my birthday. They completely ignored her. Extortion and a ruined day: When they finally let me in, they blamed ME for their system issues. To make matters worse, they demanded I pay $1,300 USD for a room that was listed for $300 USD on the website! I spent another 2 hours arguing with the director. The only "generous" solution he offered was to cancel the booking without a cancellation penalty (which is documented in an official printout from Front Desk Supervisor Maxwell Brown). I spent a whole day traveling, spent money on the road (which, of course, nobody reimbursed), and ended up with a completely ruined birthday and toxic stress. This place is a disgrace. Terrible experience, utterly unprofessional. Avoid at all costs!

TL;DR: The golf is a 10/10 fever dream. The hospitality is a 2/10 fever dream. Come for the views and golf, stay because the shuttle never actually showed up to take you home. Golf Sicko Report If you live and die by the playing top courses, just go. Seriously. The courses are pristine, and Teeth of the Dog actually lives up to the hype and more. The golf staff are the only people on this property who seem to know what planet they’re on. 10/10, would lose a $15 Pro-V1 in the Caribbean Sea again. Everything Else Disaster Here is where the wheels (specifically the golf cart wheels) fall off: The Villa Roulette: It’s a literal gamble. You might get a modern oasis, or you might get a 1982 time capsule with plumbing that sounds like a haunted house. May the odds be ever in your favor. The Logistics: The resort layout is aggressively inconvenient. You’ll spend 25% of your vacation staring at a shuttle stop or 15 minutes vibrating in a golf cart just to find a banana or maybe some stale banana bread (Dye Fore). The Support: Attempting to contact management is like trying to argue with a toaster. They’ve outsourced their souls to an enterprise-GPT model. If you have a real issue, enjoy your polite, grammatically correct, and entirely useless AI-generated "we value your feedback" or "at your service" loop. The Check-in/Out: Imagine a DMV, but with a tropical breeze and 500% more confusion. The Verdict I’ve stayed at places for half the price that treated me twice as well. Casa de Campo is basically a world-class golf course attached to a mid-tier logistics nightmare. Go if: You only care about the golf and have a high tolerance for organized chaos. Avoid if: You expect luxury service to involve actual humans and functioning showers. EDIT: I am bumping this up to 2 stars (from a 1) solely because I eventually got to speak with an extremely kind gentleman calling on behalf of the PGA. He was the only person I interacted with who seemed to actually care about—or understand—Guest Services and Hospitality Management. They are lucky to have him; he is effectively carrying the entire reputation of the resort's service on his back.
