The overall service was top-notch. Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive, always checking if we needed anything. The food was average, typical of an all-inclusive resort. Agave was the standout restaurant, along with the sports bar. We tried both Lobster House and Oregano, but both had too much fishy seafood for our taste. Room service bolognese was AMAZING! The service at all the bars/coffee shop was excellent, which made the nighttime entertainment great. There were also plenty of activities scheduled during the day. The only downside was our room. It had an air conditioning vent over the bed that dripped water directly onto our pillows and face. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to move rooms, but it was really gross and made the Swim Up room less enjoyable. Overall, I wouldn’t be returning because of the food and room situation.

My stay at Excellence Punta Cana was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The resort is beautifully maintained, with stunning beachfront views and an atmosphere that perfectly balances luxury and relaxation. The staff went above and beyond to make every moment memorable. Their friendliness, professionalism, and attention to detail truly set this resort apart. Agave and the grill were incredible and the service was consistently impeccable. The accommodations were spacious, elegant, and meticulously clean, providing the perfect retreat after a day of enjoying the beach, pools, and activities. The entertainment, amenities, and overall resort experience exceeded all expectations. What impressed me most was the genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. Every interaction felt personal, and it was clear that the team takes pride in creating an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend Excellence Punta Cana to anyone looking for a luxurious, stress-free getaway in paradise. It was one of the best vacations I've ever had, and I cannot wait to return.

We chose this resort for our anniversary, and while the property itself is undoubtedly beautiful, our stay was marred by a lack of professional service, recurring issues, and an atmosphere that did not meet the expectations of a luxury retreat. While management was responsive when we complained—often calling to check on us—it was exhausting to have to repeatedly ask for basic services. Throughout our stay, we had to continually follow up to get our mini-bar restocked, receive our anniversary banner, and ensure our room received daily turndown service. Beyond the service lapses, we were deeply uncomfortable with the overall resort culture. We were subjected to unprofessional behavior from staff, such as being interrogated three times about our food choices (ordering five items because the portions at the Excellence are tiny—for example a shrimp cocktail consisted of 2 small pieces of shrimp, an onion sliver, and a little red sauce) by a server who made us feel judged for our appetite. We also faced a hostile experience at the coffee shop where we were met with a rapid-fire, aggressive outburst in Spanish after a simple request, despite it being clear we did not speak the language. Additionally, we felt unsafe and intimidated on one occasion when a security guard repeatedly flashed a light at us in an aggressive manner while we were relaxing on the beach. Finally, the resort’s open-lobby layout and the prevailing guest behavior created a chaotic, exhibitionist atmosphere rather than the romantic, tranquil environment we booked. We frequently witnessed other guests behaving inappropriately in public spaces—such as intentionally revealing themselves in dining areas—which made us feel entirely out of place. We appreciate that management attempted to rectify some of these issues with complimentary dinners, but these gestures felt performative and did not address the systemic lack of professional discretion and hospitality standards at this resort. For travelers seeking a sophisticated, peaceful anniversary experience, we recommend looking elsewhere. Pros: beautiful resort Cons: food is decent but nothing special for a 5 star, half the service you receive is without a smile (making you feel like an inconvenience), restaurants had no AC or it didn’t work, rooms can’t be cooled below 68f (at home this temp is fine for us but here it wasn’t cool enough.) felt more like a party atmosphere than romance—lots of groups and exhibitionist behavior, very inconsistent service

The staff were always friendly. Ask for Denny to be your server at the French Restaurant. He was friendly and attentive during our dinner. The resort is beautiful. I can’t say the same outside the boundaries of the resort. Trash could be seen along the sides of the roads. The presentation of the food was always beautiful. Some of the food at various restaurants was very flavorful and others were lacking seasoning. The complaint I have was the vent for the air conditioner would drop condensation while sleeping. We were talked into signing up for the Excellence Club but we really didn’t see much of an advantage in doing so. Yes, we got to eat at a restaurant other patrons couldn’t, but there are plenty of restaurants on the resort! Save your money and go on a few excursions.

We had an amazing stay at Excellence Punta Cana. Not only was the staff very kind and welcoming, but they made you feel like family. I would like to make a special mention to chef Francisco Sanchez, Luis and Raquel, as well as waiters Danny and Juan Carlos for their amazing service and for going way beyond their regular duties. Also, the food and drinks were superb, we reccommend the lamb chops from the Chez Isabelle, the miso soup from Spice and the fried calamari from the italian restaraunt, Oregano. The best drink we had was the Tom Collins. Finally, al though most of their visitors are english speakers, they are very very excited to siversify their profile and were very entusiastic with to have us (Puerto Ricans) at their resort. Thank you for elevating our experience and making it an excellent one.
