Coming towards the end of our stay here, so updating my last review. It has been a wonderful holiday, very relaxing. Special thanks again to Phil and Ahmed in the Bar Hall, great service 👍 and also to Alin. The Oriental Spa gardens are stunning. Susannah was so helpful and lovely. We will be very sad to leave. We ate in Il Pappagallo twice, nice meal and reasonably priced. Antonio- always cheerful on the door. Hope to come back next year.

We booked a SPA day and notified the staff that we are coming with a little baby. When we arrived, the valet asked us to find parking on the street, outside of the hotel premises because “we are not guests of the hotel”. That was a great start. We started with the massage. The therapy rooms are located right next to the pools’ water pumping engines. The noise was constant during the procedure and even closing the window didn’t help - it was louder than the “relaxing” Thai music in the background. To add on top of that there was some kind of a party right outside the room. You can imagine the ambience that all this noise creates. The massage therapist was a nice elderly lady, but who is obviously gaining her first experience. The quality of the staff varies dramatically as one of the SPA receptionists, a warm blonde woman with glasses, genuinely tried to understand and help us. While another tried to gaslight us saying that the noise is not that loud and repeating that we are not “guests of the hotel” when I mentioned we had to park a few blocks away from the hotel while coming with a one year old baby in 30+ degrees heat. We decided to not follow with the other procedures, paid for the massage and left. This is not a 5 start hotel with a SPA. This is a tourist trap. Never again.

absolutely beautiful hotel with stunning tropical gardens and gorgeous swimming pools. the whole place looks so peaceful and luxurious, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. definitely somewhere that would make a stay in tenerife feel extra special

Had a fantastic time in Tenerife last week with a phenomenal stay at Hotel Botanico. Big shout out to the staff- specially Pino, Patricia, Adama, and the rest of the staff. I made my reservation the day before arrival and Pino, the hotel manager, provided me with room options when I arrived and Adama took the time to give me a tour of the rooms to decide which one I preferred- without being pushy on upselling. Also worth mentioning that throughout my stay, the staff remembered my name and asked how my stay was and if I had any questions about the island and suggestions where to go- little things but adds a little touch to the experience. The hotel cleaning staff also did a superb job; my room was clean daily. Very much appreciated the chocolates they left in my room daily! I read a lot of reviews about the air conditioning; it does work and you have control of it- you just have to tinker with it a little bit. Click on the fan button until it’s illuminated with only the 1 or 2 fan icon (don’t let it set to “automatic”); that allowed me to set my room temp down to 16.5*. Overall very pleased with my stay; would highly recommend. I’ve been a fan of LHW hotels and I would definitely come back to this one.

I stayed 9 nights and found the hotel was excellent in every way. First of all, and importantly the service was professional and friendly from the whole team of staff without exception for the duration of my stay. I felt very well looked after. An extra special touch was being delivered a cake, a rose and a bottle of cava on my birthday, a lovely surprise especially as I hadn’t mentioned it. The hotel is more beautiful inside than it appears online, the photos don’t do it justice in my opinion, and I loved the Thai-themed decor. I had a superior room and it was very comfortable with everything provided that you would need and expect from a 5star hotel, with plenty of space inside and on the balcony. It was comfortable, clean, and everything worked perfectly, including the excellent shower, excellent hair dryer, remote-controlled curtains and air-con. I enjoyed trips into town shopping on the complimentary bus, and a couple of excursions most notably star-gazing up mt. Teide, but the hotel is an experience in itself with a variety of restaurants, a spa with a huge range of treatments on offer, gardens, animals and art to explore (and golf if that’s your thing). There is museum-quality art to find all over and you can purchase a book for 20 euros that explains the artists where to find all of the interesting pieces, which are spread throughout. There’s a shop where you can browse/buy quality clothes, shoes and accessories and if you have the money you can arrange an appointment to purchase something from the Hermes shop onsite. I just drooled at the bags and scarves via the window display! It’s a hotel where the more you explore and the more carefully you look, the better the experience is. There is very careful attention to detail all around if you look closely enough and It’s a space that encourages you to slow down and be mindful if you let it. Breakfast buffet provided a lot of choice and nice GF options, including lovely toast and home made cake (my favourite). I was able to eat a variety of fresh and healthy foods throughout the 9 days at breakfast (and cake). I enjoyed the birds in the aviary each morning inside but you can also eat breakfast outside. I tried a couple of the restaurants in the evening and enjoyed my meals there, especially the Spanish cuisine. I also enjoyed an evening at the bar drinking cocktails with live entertainment and dancing. The well-maintained gardens are beautiful with interesting vistas, and ponds with fish, turtles and black swans (inside there’s also a jellyfish tank). Tucked away to find while exploring the gardens is a beautiful selection of orchids and a herb garden too, along with beautiful lush tropical and some highly scented plants throughout. I had fresh orchids in my room throughout my stay too, a lovely touch. The spa was beautiful, quiet and peaceful: excellent, with whirlpools, jacuzzis, a waterfall, and an amethyst cave with a jet tub, all giving a variety of massages for various parts of the body. There are 4 different saunas and a pool inside, and a solarium with waterbeds. I didn’t technically need any treatments due to the variety of wellness features available, but I did indulge in an oriental ritual, a massage and reiki and each treatment was excellent and immersive. There are a variety of teas, cold water and fruit available at any time. My only gripe was the price of yoga class at 40 (50 if you include meditation) euros per person per class. I would have liked a chance to enjoy yoga class but this was prohibitively expensive. Perhaps guests could be offered a class one day per week included and charge if you want more classes thereafter? I didn’t use the gym despite good intentions but it had a good variety of modern equipment to meet anyone’s needs. Anyway, this hotel was perfect for a holiday and wellness retreat and my stay here melted all of my stress away. I’m already saving up for a return trip next year and I’ll be staying longer next time! Needless to say, I thoroughly recommend a stay here.
