Initially, we did not like this resort. However, after taking a step back and understanding that they're going to adults only, we get it. The food is fantastic. The service was great. The hotel is in a transition to adults only, but overall if you're looking for a relaxing romantic getaway, this could be your spot. The downside is the beach or lock thereof. Not much swimming due to the weeds

This hotel is nothing close to a 5 star hotel. - The food is ok. Wherever you go in the hotel. It's always underwhelming. The room service is below average, If not bad. The buffet... is a disaster for a 5 star hotel.. - BARELY any snacks/drinks in the room : only 1 small tequila a day (no other alcohol) + 1 mini chips + 1 m&m. That's it. The cheapest room snacks I've seen in a 5 star all inclusive. - The preferred upgrade is a scam. We were a big group and we all checked in at different times as couples. Each couple got a different price for the upgrade.. -We upgraded in order to access the rooftop pool. Rooftop pool gets crowded quickly. with limited available tanning chairs. The worst part is that the only beds available (beds that fit 2 people) were available only for an extra fee. why pay to be Preferred just to be asked to pay MORE EXTRAS ?? - The entire resort is a wind tunnel. Blasting winds the entire time. We were there in march, which is known to be windy. However, we left the hotel every day and noticed that it was not like that a few blocks away. - You have to reserve a place to eat at the restaurants. Good luck finding a reservation at the time you would like. - Coffee shop was ok. Decent coffee. But why put all the pastries out and let them dry out in the air ?? - Beach seating was very limited. - On a positive note, I have to say thatThe staff is nice and friendly FOR THE PRICE, YOU CAN GET MUCH MUCH BETTER. THERE'S A LOT TO WORK ON FOR THEM TO BE CONSIDERED 5 STAR.

Excellent resort, clean spacious rooms, excellent service from all the staff. Special mention to Pamela at the concierge desk for going above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Large clean pool, lots of chairs and umbrellas. The beach is quite small. The resort was not busy so it was ok. It would be a problem if the resort was busy. There is an area reserved for preferred guests which was empty most of the time. Buffet was closed for dinner most nights because the resort was not busy so we went to à la carte restaurants for dinner which was ok You might be approached by someone at the VIP fest to attend their marketing presentation where they sell memberships in Hyatt group of companies. Something like timeshare but not quite. They can be very aggressive so beware. They promise you coupons that you can use for spa or excursions so if you are ok to spend about 2 hours of aggressive marketing then go for it lol.

Pros * Clean and well-maintained rooms. * Good food with a nice variety of options. * Friendly, hospitable staff. * The evening entertainment was enjoyable and well done. Cons * The air conditioning throughout the resort was inconsistent. Some areas felt as though there was little or no cooling, which was uncomfortable given the high outdoor temperatures. * Drinks from some bars seemed to contain very little alcohol and often tasted more like juice than cocktails. * First-time guests may be invited to what is described as a Hyatt information session, but it is actually a high-pressure sales presentation for vacation packages costing over $70,000. We were assured that any decision would be respected, yet after declining, multiple representatives continued to pressure us to purchase and requested a substantial deposit. The presentation lasted nearly three hours instead of the promised 90 minutes, and the salesperson became discourteous when we chose not to buy. We found the experience misleading and detracted significantly from our stay.

New favorite resort! We had an amazing week here and were blown away by the quality of the entire resort. We are a couple in our 30’s, no kids, not big on partying. From start to finish, our stay was perfect. The design is compact and modern. Rooms are spacious and well designed. It’s very easy to get around this resort. The beach is small but the water was clear, and you can take a lovely walk heading south, along the golf course/beach. Food was fantastic. Breakfast buffet had a great and rotating selection. We LOVED Himitsu and ate there several times (shout out to Ruben and Pablo, our wonderful servers). Every dish we had, from sushi to pad Thai was delicious. The food court for tacos, hamburgers, and sushi during the day was amazing - best carnitas and birria tacos, right by the pool, very tasty. Coco Cafe for coffee (Gabriel was so sweet, I really loved how friendly he was - always a smile on his face and just genuinely some of the best service ever) and pastries was wonderful. Loved the chocolate croissants and sugared donuts, maybe a little too much! Bartenders are attentive and also great at making drinks - Adrian at Barracuda would always give great service during the day, whether we wanted a cocktail or just some waters, he was always quick to greet us and help us. Activities are always fun with the entertainment staff. Thank you Erik for always making sure everyone is having a good time, he would often stop and chat with us to invite us to the nightly events and always checked in on our day. We witnessed on more than one occasion the women who work in the Explorer’s Club taking the kids to the pool, or to lunch, and I can’t say enough about how kind and caring they were with these children. They seemed so patient and happy to be taking care of the kids during the day. Last but not least, another example of the staff here is Jacqueline, a hostess at Himitsu. She remembered my husband’s peanut allergy and was always so friendly with us. It is small but very meaningful things like this that make me return to Dreams and Secrets properties! A big bonus to this resort is that you can easily Uber. So if you want to go take the ferry to Isla Mujeres, super easy. If you want to Uber to Mercado 28 and do some local souvenir shopping, super easy. I would choose this resort over hotel zone simply for this reason.
