Had an amazing vacation at the Hyatt vivid playa del Carmen. We came for the beach and pools and wanted to stay longer for the delicious food and amazing staff. The staff were so kind and welcoming. We were greeted at breakfast by our friend/server Javier and spoiled at the pool by servers Erick, Roberto, and Favela. We loved spending time with the pool staff/entertainers Aranza and Aaron. We truly loved our time here. Coming in the off season our only complaint is having fewer options for dinner time but we loved the breakfast buffet and barefoot for lunch in particular. Asiana was also delicious. We wish the buffet was open all day and that there was beach chairs out for beach front. There is some seaweed but truly not horrible, the staff clean it up in the morning. There is some ocean or sewage type smells particularly in the morning but I’m assuming this is more the environment/beaches than any fault of the hotel. The location is near downtown and very walkable. The staff were great in being attentive and helping keep our room clean. We felt very well cared for and looked after. We had an excellent time and would absolutely come back. Thank you!!

I've stayed at many resorts in cancun and this is by far the worst resort. The resort itself is clean and nice and in a good location, there was hardly any food options. The 24 hour bar closes at midnight and no food or drinks after that. There was only two restaurants open in the hotel for dinner and it was mediocre at best. The staff at the sports bar (Brenda) chased us and said we couldn't take a plate of food outside of the sports bar and she would like me to throw the plate of food away. The lobby bar staff was it was fine and the supervisor said it was fine!! And EVERYONE was taking food out and eating it at the lobby bar. The entertainment is hands down the worse thing I've ever seen. Aaron the entertainment manager asks everyday if anyone can be his sugar daddy, they talk about how they cannot have any explicit music at karaoke but you have ur entertainment guy dancing explicitly, his clothes are too small and tight on him, and he's asking everyone for sugar daddy so he can live off them. It's just distasteful this is a 2 star resort at best. The management also said they would address these issues and get back to us and they just ignored us and avoided us until we left. We met so many people with similar experiences. Just do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

The service at this resort is incredible! The rooms were always clean. The food was good. We had a beach front room. The room itself is outdated, clean but definitely not the nice feeling we have had at other resorts. The crowd is much younger, partying crowd. So if that’s what you’re looking for it’s a great place to PARTY! I feel that’s where all the 5 star reviews come from, younger people that have not traveled a lot. Will I return to this location, No. But for a friends birthday party for 5 nights it was good.

The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. A very special thank‑you to Kevin, who went above and beyond for us throughout our stay. He made us feel truly welcomed and supported during such an important moment in our lives. It was always asked every restaurant we went to. And a heartfelt thank‑you to the wonderful lady who performed our ceremony — we unfortunately forgot her name, but she was incredibly warm, kind, and made our moment truly special. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and comfortable — but what really made our experience unforgettable was the people. Our stay at Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles, genuine hospitality, and a staff that consistently went above and beyond to make our visit unforgettable. The dining experience was a standout feature of our trip. Every restaurant delivered incredible food with rich flavors and beautiful presentation. Dolma, Pelicanos, and the Chef’s Table were all fantastic and offered unique culinary experiences we’re still talking about. Breakfast at Spice was always a perfect start to the day, and José made each morning brighter with his friendly service and attention to detail. We also want to give a special shout-out to Antonio, whose beach and poolside service was outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, and always on top of making sure we had everything we needed to fully relax and enjoy our time by the water. His thoughtful service truly elevated our experience. What really makes this resort shine is the people. Every staff member we encountered was polite, courteous, and greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello. Their warmth created a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere that stayed with us throughout our stay. We absolutely loved our time at Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen and highly recommend it to anyone looking for amazing food, exceptional service, and a resort filled with genuinely wonderful people.
