We had an amazing experience at Hilton Yala, and everything from start to finish was absolutely top-class. The front office team, especially Chalaka and the entire team, were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The service across the hotel was outstanding from the restaurant staff, housekeeping to the banquet team, everyone went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality really stood out. The location is perfect, surrounded by nature, and the safari experience was awesome, very well organized and truly unforgettable. It’s one of the best places to experience Yala while enjoying luxury and comfort. Overall, Hilton Yala delivers excellence in every aspect service, location, food, and experiences. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Yala. Definitely a place we would love to visit again!

Fantastic room with ocean facing balcony. There is a fantastic pool & short walk to the beach. Well worth going to see the Indian Ocean & walk along the beach. The bathroom has an open top shower & we made the mistake of turning the lights off when we went for supper...bats came in & left their calling card! The staff were excellent & house services sent someone to clean the bathroom & give us fresh towels. Remember to leave the lights on! The food is delicious, we had a la carte for supper rather than the buffet ($30 per head) & my yellow fin tuna was cooked to perfection. We did an early morning safari to Yala Reserve & had a late buffet breakfast when we got back. The selection was first class. All in all a really enjoyable stay.

This is our 2nd night here at Jetwing Yala and we honestly have nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience. A huge shout-out to Mr. Naminda and Mr. Saravanan for the exceptional service and support, right from the booking process through to our entire stay. They truly went above and beyond with their service. Every single staff member was amazing and always greeted us with the most genuine, beautiful smiles, which made us feel so welcome. The food deserves a special mention ,hands down some of the best we’ve had from a hotel in a long time. The staff were always attentive, checking in to make sure everything was perfect and asking if we needed anything else, which made dining such a pleasure. The chef and guess it was the F & B manager visits each table to make sure eveyone is happy and the resturant staff are so efficeint and super friendly all the time. The hotel itself is lovely, spotless, and very well maintained. And the rooms — wow!. They were massive, incredibly comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The bathroom was very spacious and offered stunning views of the ocean, which was an absolute treat. Both the kids and us are equally sad to be leaving tomorrow, but we’ve promised ourselves that Jetwing Yala will be right at the top of our list when we return to Sri Lanka next time. Keep up the amazing work, everyone, and thank you once again for making our stay so comfortable and truly unforgettable.

This was our third stay at Jetwing Yala, and as always, Jetwing did not disappoint us. We had a wonderfully relaxing time at the hotel. The level of service, cleanliness, and overall standards were maintained to a very satisfactory level. The food was delicious, and I would especially like to mention the seafood, which was very well seasoned—unlike what is often experienced at many other hotels. The homemade ice creams were absolutely delicious 😋 However, the homemade treacle was not to our liking, as on previous visits. Unfortunately, it tends to spoil the taste of curd as well.

This is a solid property in an excellent location for visiting Yala National Park (separate sub optimal review on that). Check-in and Rooms: We arrived in the evening and were promptly greeted and offered welcome drinks, which were a choice of juices. Room was available immediately and bags arrived shortly after. Our standard queen room was large which a big bed, expansive balcony and huge bathroom. Bathroom has two types of showers were I found interesting and a very dark industrial aesthetic. Waters inside the room are free. Everything was very clean. They left cookies as a welcome amenity, as well as a box of nuts doing turndown service nightly and extra water, much appreciated after a long day at Yala park. Overall, the service aspect was very good throughout the stay. The rooms were a little dated in some places such as the wallpaper. The other aspect, which we didn’t mind because we are in a jungle, is that there are cockroaches in the room from time to time. We entered the room and noticed them on two separate occasions. I called the front desk staff and they were immediately taken care of. Note that this property is located in proximity to the park, so in the morning there are frequent elephant sightings. We saw two during our two night stay; one directly in front of the hotel in the arrival area and one near the beach on the beach walk. Food: We had the buffet dinner for two nights and breakfast for one morning. There is a variety of food, mainly Sri Lankan and Indian, and some western. Seafood consisting of grilled fish and prawns were made fresh, as were the meats. The ready-made food was hit or miss, with some dishes standing out more than others in terms of flavor. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Breakfast variety was as extensive as dinner. Service for beverages was better at dinner, and a bit slow at breakfast. Seemed like they were relatively understaffed in the morning. Note that they do have soy milk alternative for coffee if you are not a fan of diary, but you might have to ask a few people to get it. Experiences: There are two experiences offered at the hotel: a beach walk at 6:30am and a sustainability tour at 9:00am. I would highly recommend the beach walk in the early morning, which departs from the beach and is given by the lifeguard on staff. The hotel tries to facility safeguarding turtle eggs from predators during hatching season (winter/early spring). Aside from the morning sunrise from the beach, the lifeguard will show you the turtle eggs and if you are lucky, you might see one that has hatched if not eaten by wild boars or birds. It’s also just a really nice walk down the coastline.

The other tour was given around the hotel which departs from the lobby at 9:00 am, showcasing the sustainability initiatives that are on site. I would recommend this if sustainable tourism interests you, as the hotel does an extensive job of utilizing on-site solar, biofuel for water heating, and desalination methods for both bath and drinking water. You are shown the entire process behind the scenes of these operations. There is also a composting facility and organic garden. I got to try some sugar cane and passion fruit from the garden which was fun and take a bottle of water from the drinking water plant. A big thank you to my excellent tour guide Chameera for the educational experience.
