Jetwing Yala has a peaceful atmosphere right next to nature. The food was delicious, and the overall dining experience was very enjoyable. The pool area was relaxing and well-maintained, making it a great place to unwind. The staff were warm, helpful, and made our stay feel special from start to finish.

We stayed for two nights in December 2025, mainly to visit Yala National Park. We arrived from a charming boutique hotel in Mirissa, which set a high standard and made the contrast noticeable. However, even without that comparison, we felt somewhat disappointed, as the hotel’s current condition didn’t quite match the photos presented online. While the bed was comfortable and the rooms were spacious, they appeared a bit run down — with stains on the walls, dirty curtains, and a general lack of attention to detail (as shown in our photos). On a positive note, the hotel’s location is excellent for exploring Yala National Park, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. As always, it’s the people who make the biggest difference, and in our case, that difference was made by Sashila at the front desk. Her warm smile, welcoming attitude, and genuine helpfulness stood out. She even took the time to show us two different room types and let us choose the one we preferred — a small gesture that made us feel well cared for.

Wonderful Stay and Warm Hospitality at Jetwing Yala Our family started our Yala adventure with a night at Jetwing Yala, and it was the perfect beginning to our holiday. The welcome from the team was warm and genuine, and my little boy was thrilled with the elephant teddy “Natta Kota”, such a lovely touch! Our room had a beautiful ocean and jungle view, and the staff went out of their way to make our stay special. We even got to enjoy the pool at Jetwing Safari Camp next door during sunset, an amazing experience. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, especially the buffet and hot-chocolate machine that our kids loved. Although it was just one night, we’ll definitely return for a longer stay. A big thank you to GM Naminda and the team for their outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Yala!

Absolutely fabulous hotel in an excellent location, with spacious rooms and wonderful staff. I really appreciated their genuine effort to reduce plastic usage, such as using biodegradable wraps for disposable toiletries and takeaway breakfast boxes. It’s a place unlike any other, where you can see wildlife roaming freely. We saw elephants, monkeys, deer, squirrels, and a few bird species right from the dining hall. My son even spotted a giant squirrel (දඬු ලේනා) running through the hotel corridors. The staff were humble, attentive, and friendly, and they weren’t focused on serving for tips. They seem to be very well trained. My mother, who travelled with us, also spent time reading the founder’s book and found it really interesting. There are a couple of things to keep in mind, though: If you’re self-driving, your vehicle may be at risk of elephant attacks when parked (see details below). In addition, the gravel road leading to the hotel is in very poor condition, which also presents some safety hazards.

Jetwing Yala was a highlight. The pool is absolutely beautiful and perfect for cooling off after a safari. We loved seeing the wildlife right on the property — cows, monkeys, rabbits, bats, and geckos wandering around, which made it feel unique and connected to nature. The service was excellent and staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were ice cold and very comfortable, which was perfect after a hot day out. A fantastic stay and highly recommended when visiting Yala.
