Unfortunately my experience was average at best... A week after check out Still waiting for guest satisfaction survey but for some reason they didn't even send me one. We arrived to JW Khao Lak 2 adults and 2 children with very high expectations for 5 nights of a good relaxing vacation, but sadly, the overall experience fell short of what we expected from a resort of this standard. Upon arrival We were allocated in the worst possible room in the least favourite wing of the hotel. Our family lagoon pool access room had very bad layout for families ad there was very dangerous step between the kids and the parents side of the room and my 3yo daughter had a hard fall and only with a lot of luck didn't get serious injury. The pool access in this room was limited, uncomfortable and the balcony had no roof so every light rain made it impossible to seat outside and remaining wet for hours after. As a silver member I raised this issues to and was informed that they actually have a better room but it will available only for our last 3 nights. So after 2 nights feeling as very not welcomed guests, we moved to actually much better room that felt more new, without the dangerous step and with a roof in the balcony. The compensation offered for the inconvenience was just a 5% discount on food at the resort. Considering the safety concern and the disruption of having to change rooms during our holiday, this felt inadequate and even kind of ridiculous but it is what it is. As for the rest... The check in/out staff is not trained enough in my opinion and their English probably should be better and more understandable. The beach is nice but the sea in my opinion is less appealing as the water is not clear and on some days there were jellyfish allert. The "family" breakfast room which located at the drift restaurant the one they recommend to have breakfast there as a family is much lower standard facility than the other breakfast room which located at the olive restaurant. I can understand their will to separate the families with kids from solo or couples guests but it doesn't mean they can mistreat families with bad service or worse facilities and unfortunately that was our feeling from the beginning. On the positive side the kids club is very good with nice staff and a lot of fun activities for youner kids However even there my 3yo went for shoe painting but there were no shoes her size and only for older kids. The breakfast staff at olive was very nice, welcoming and even remembered the way we drink our coffee the next day. The quality of the food the breakfast and all restaurants is very good with all the dishes marked with allergens and can be adjusted to your request. The kids pool with a slide is nice and so the infinity pool but most of the time they are overcrowded. After all it was not a bad stay but as I sad unfortunately our expectations were not met. It was kind of disappointing and average at best and I believe JW can and must do much better. Sadly there was also no follow up, not at the check out and not a week after they didn't bother to contact or send a survey to ask how was my stay and how they can improve. They said that they are proud to have many returning guests but unfortunately even that the resort has a lot of potential I'm not sure I will be one of this returning guests

Amazing hotel!! Highly recommended. We took a pool accessible room and it was great, going straight into the pool that surrounds the entire hotel. The service was great, you can see the staff is always working to make the place neat. The hotel has a private beach which is also beautiful, and on the beach some restaurants, massages and laundry services with really decent prices (dont belong to the hotel). The hotel also offers many activities, bike rental, an amazing kids club, and more. We were there with our 2 yrs old and really enjoyed, it was the best hotel of our trip (just dont make our mistake to go there as the first hotel, because then all the other hotels dont stand up to the expectations 😂)

Our belated birthday celebration at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa was an exceptional 5-star experience from start to finish. The resort went above and beyond to make us feel truly special. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with beautiful birthday decorations on the bed and a bottle of sparkling wine, setting a festive and memorable tone for the stay. While we encountered a few minor problems during our stay, the attentive team took proactive steps to resolve them, following up with a courtesy call to ensure everything was fixed to our satisfaction. Special Kudos to the Team: Ms. Madhu (Front Desk): Delightfully charming with a wonderfully positive mindset that made check-in a joy. Khun Taki (Assistant Front Office Manager): Truly exceptional. We cannot thank her enough for genuinely listening to our feedback and showing deep, sincere care for her guests. Khun Praew ( doorman)& Khun Lookpa (Front Desk): Absolutely lovely and welcoming every time we arrived. The warm hospitality, thoughtful details, and outstanding service recovery made this trip unforgettable. We highly recommend JW Marriott Khao Lak to fellow travelers and Marriott Bonvoy members!

The best resort in the area! The hotel has the most beautiful and spacious private grounds, filled with tropical plants and local wildlife. Special attention should be given to the pools the entire resort area feels as if it is surrounded by water, and the pools are carefully maintained throughout the day. I stayed in a pool-access room, and I would definitely recommend it. It was absolutely a 10/10. I also really enjoyed the breakfast, with a good selection of hot dishes and fresh fruits. The service was very attentive, friendly, and professional. The hotel beach was always clean and had everything needed for a relaxing stay, including swimming, sunbathing, and surfing lessons. I highly recommend

The place itself is amazing. The environment surrounding the hotel is relaxing and beautiful. The pools were perfect and plentiful. The room we stayed in was amazing too. It had pool access and was very spacious inside. The furnishing was very Thai and made our stay very comfortable. We were also given a complimentary snacks and sparkling wine as a welcome gift. Perfect way to start our stay. The breakfast was plentiful and covered a variety of tastes - Asian, Western, Eastern etc. There were two places to eat but both had similar choices. Staff at both places were friendly and helpful. If there was any negative thing to say about the place was the weddings. There were two while we were there. And both took up a lot of the spaces in the hotel. The views and noise from the weddings kind of spoiled the relaxing ambience of the place. I thought it was inconvenient for the regular guests to endure the situation when they had paid quite a lot of money for the ambience of the place. So for me, it was a little disappointing. JW does have a ballroom so I didn’t understand why the wedding g couldn’t have been held there.
