Authentic review (without staff hovering for a 5-star rating) We spent 6 days at Lopesan Costa Bavaro as a family of four (with 2 teenagers). Overall, we felt the stay fell short of a true luxury 5-star experience for the price paid. The Good: Resort & Grounds: The property is beautiful, well-maintained, and the main areas are kept spotless. The infinity pool makes a fantastic first impression. Buffet & Select Staff: Food at the main buffet was diverse and consistently good. Special shoutouts to Luis, Gabriella Jimenez, and Alvin at the Atlántico buffet—they were extremely welcoming, attentive, and made our stay truly enjoyable. Dining Highlights: The Mexican restaurant offered great food and wonderful service. Amenities: Our teens enjoyed the water park and pool activities, and a room maintenance issue we reported was efficiently resolved the same day. The Bad: Food Safety: Avoid raw fish at the Japanese restaurant. The salmon poke was noticeably unfresh, and it resulted in food poisoning the next day. Inconsistent Service: Staff service was a hit-or-miss. We experienced rude service at The Valley restaurant and at Bávaro Coffee—where wait times consistently averaged 20–30 minutes, despite the great coffee (shoutout to Anabel for particularly poor service). Beach & Pool Standards: Due to high seasonal seaweed (though staff do try their best to clear it), the infinity pool was the main attraction. However, guest standards were disappointing for a luxury resort—people entered the pool fully clothed or wearing street shoes, and restaurant dress codes were rarely enforced. Conclusion: While certain staff members and amenities were lovely, the mixed service, food quality issue, and lack of enforced resort standards made us feel we overpaid for the experience

Jose Soso was an amazing server and he was very friendly and polite to our group. The greeters were happy and kind. They were able to accommodate our bigger group and were often able to sit our group into a kids table and an adult table. He often checked on our table asking if he needed anything else! Facilities are great, restaurants are great. However since previous visit 2 years ago I feel that the service from certain elements have decreased significantly. Rude and slow service at the coffee shop and some of the staff in the buffet. I feel that the quality assurance of both these services has decreased significantly. Service at the bars still remains high with staff attentive and welcoming. Staff at the reception are also great and helpful. Cleaning, excluding the rooms, seemed incredibly slow with left over cups, glasses and cutlery left around resort from previous night. Pools and lift guards good. Several engaging with our young child during the visit and helping where possible.

I recently stayed at the Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort and had a fantastic experience. The location is absolutely excellent, and the customer service across the property is top-notch. The premium food and beverage options really elevated the stay, with everything tasting fresh and high-quality. A very special thanks goes out to Bizcocho and Jades, our incredible servers at the Atlantic Buffet, who went above and beyond to make our dining experiences memorable. The rooms themselves are very nice, modern, and comfortable. My only critique is regarding the bathroom housekeeping; upon arrival, there was some visible dirt that was easily cleaned, but it shouldn't have been missed by staff. Aside from that minor detail, it was a wonderful vacation, and I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a premium getaway.

~From European point of view~ The rooms are big but the walls are very thin (if some neighbour is speaking a little bit too loud you hear him). The housekeeping was good after we went made a complain (the cleaning ladies didn't made housekeeping in the room for 4 days in a row - we think that is because we didn't let tips on the bed or something) The food was good. We had the opportunity to make servation for all types of restaurants and the staff was nice and kind (even if some didn't understood English well we understood each other). What was a little bit weird was that the staff came to take your plate after 0.3 second you finished to eat (we felt like they wanted us to leave as fast as we can) Location is amazing. The beach and the pool are constantly cleaned. You can easily find a place on the sunbeds, you don't have to wake up very early in the morning to have a sunbed. Daily they have activities (challenges, games, yoga, parties, etc) and the staff is nice. Raisa and Jay are the best! They are very funny, entertaining and fair. PS: In the team are a few people who are not fair and take sides with certain people when it comes to prize competitions... but what to say.. we hope they will learn form Raisa and Jay
