We are checking out tomorrow. The property is beautiful and clean. Our room was big and comfortable. The impression I had, is that staff at Casino & restaurants hate their job. Drinks take awhile to arrive at the table in the restaurants (if it arrives…). You need a reservation for all the restaurants (except the buffet), you cannot make reservations prior arrival and neither for the first night, restaurants are small and get fully booked pretty easily, walk ins are not accepted and if you try to speak with someone, you will be turned around… out of 5 days, we were able to make reservation for 2 restaurants (what was available, not what we would like to try). The steakhouse is for adults only. I’d suggest not trying room service food. There is no paying option for a restaurant as well, so you are on the verge of the buffet (great selection of tropical fruits, hot food is pretty average and questionable). Took us 6 calls to have the sofa bed set up to sleep on the first night. The beach is beautiful and we have had no issues on getting a good spot by the beach in the morning. Overall, we had a great time (we are pretty easy going people), but I’d try a different all inclusive next time in Punta Cana.

We had a great experience on Hard Rock las year and we decide to get a better hotel at this time. So the hotel seem newer than Hard Rock but the service is 2 star. If you do not speak spanish do not go to Lopesan, no one understand you and most of the time seem you are asking a favor. So many employers seems sad or not happy in working. The restaurants are hard to book and food is 1 star. I'm not talking about michelin just a honest food. The buffet I believe the placemats are never washed (strong smell) first time I thought was the server but next day we peek another table and the smell was the same I decided to sniff the table (booommmm). Room service was horrible: (1) we needed to call 4 times in 6 hours asking someone to make the sofa bed for our son. (2) Call to restock the mini fridge and snacks (they do not understand english and I'm not speak spanish) soo nothing happen. (3) Order a simple burger and fries and a chicken tender for dinner take one hour and came all well done, fries like a sponge we can't had the food. Casino is very poor, many slot machines out of service, the first machine just reseted and the screen was black I tried to find someone to helpme and the girl said: Happenes all the time lol and blackjack dealers counting the numbers using his fingers to make sure they are losing or winning. Bars was ok. For sure we will never back on Lopesan.

I checked in 30th may and still here until 8th June celebrating my wife 35th birthday where no bell boy came to meet us for our bags we were directed to the adult only reception with 4 large suitcase cases after being on a 9 hour flight. We waited 1 hour to be seen to that it took a manager to see us waiting to get someone to attend to us. Prior to coming i emailed Jenifer to get a birthday banner and decor arranged for my Mrs. We got our keys to the swim up room 1018 after a long winded check in. Let's say that out swim up room has a path where workers walk and drive through and neighbouring houses are having loud parties and making car horn notices for £4200 room only it was a bit of a kick in teeth. There was no birthday banner for Mrs and this got me stopping to the reception immediately being told wait for the manager also wanted to see if there was a swim up room that had a view of not the wall and path. I had to wait for the manager to come that took 45 mins then she said I'm sorry about the banner even showing the email I sent and received from Jenifer she said I promise it will be done tomorrow at 3pm.. TOMORROW NEVER CAME AND ITS DAY 4 NOW THANKS LOPESAN FOR MAKING THIS EXTRA SPECIAL FOR HER. The toilet flush broke and we could. Flush the toilet, the shower has lots of damp on it and the tv remote didn't work until we got a replacement. Customer service is terrible they all look angry and hardly anyone speaks English. Day 4 which is today at 1230pm we went to get towels for the sunbed and there didn't have any left and didnt know when they will get more so I am sat in the bar waiting to even jump in the pool. This isn't what a 5* is or looks like and It was out of the lopesan and w hotel and I wish I picked the W. The positives of the hotel is that the gym is the best and biggest I've ever seen in a hotel but please don't reply with stating that as a positive because I would not recommend this hotel and suggest try the w it was cheaper by a marginally feed. I don't leave negative reviews often but this is justified and honestly I travel 3 to 4 X a year so I think I have enough experience to know what is good and what is not. I have 2 Instagram accounts for 250k following and 11k which I will be spamming with all that has gone on. Stay blessed Saad

We had stayed here 5 nights and upon arrival the property is quite grand and beautiful from the pieces of art work and furniture's used in the lobby, and the corporation of plants used throughout giving the entire resort a Mediterranean facade. We had originally requested a garden view but the receptionist told us he upgraded our room to a view of the beach and water, but unfortunately when we got to our room the view was not to our expectations and what the receptionist had told us, as our view was the side road of the hotel and just a wall of palm trees obstructing the view as to what was promised to be. We let this pass as we already arrived at the hotel late afternoon and tired from our flight. Our room was okay, but we found the fridge to be broken and not working at all and one of our bedside light was broken. House keeping in our room was good for the first 2 days but went downhill after and this became a concern and issue to us because we found our door not completely closed all the way to lock twice, this gave us extra concerns with our belongings in our room being safe. On one of the day during our stay we found the new towels were very damp that we had to request room service to receive new ones. What was more upsetting was coming back from grabbing lunch and swimming all day we found the lock and door closer hinge completely broken and the entire parts missing. We had to double check if all our stuff were okay and we immediately called the front desk to report this issue. A worker who came down to see and fix the issue was even surprised to see this and had to go grab the parts to fix the lock. It took a bit of time to get this fixed but we waited patiently because we wanted to ensure this was fixed before we got ready and left for dinner so we could have a good sleep knowing we were safe. Our final day, house keeping didn't clean our room at all, no changes of towels, no toilet paper replacements to replace our empty rolls, and the floors of our room were not swept and mopped so we can feel the sand on our feet. Again we had to request room service for new towels and toilet paper. Only housekeeping that was done was our bed which was rushly made. We did experience power outage issue throughout the stay, on our first night and then our third night it was a 4hr blackout with the emergency lights constantly failing and no running water. The power throughout our stay would turn off and back on a few seconds after. Maybe add two emergency flashlights in the rooms to help guest have a source of light if these things happen for safety. Food in the buffet was good and somewhat better than the a la carte experience in our opinion. Staff in the buffet looked more happy and were more pleasant to speak to and more attentive to our tables than in the a la carte restaurants. At the a la carte restaurants we went to El Charro, the food was good but we ended up waiting for our appetizers and main for an hour. This was disappointing as we saw those who came after us already receive their order. La Boheme food was good but service was okay, and Mareas we also experienced the same dining experience like El Charro. The best experience in food and service we got was the Gondola. Staff were attentive to all diners no matter if you were dining in pairs or in a large group and when we did not receive one of our orders in a orderly time, one of the staff checked in on us and asked if we were okay and if we wanted to order drinks while he quickly sees about our order. This kind of customer service is greatly needed for all of the a la carte restaurants to make a good experience for all diners. Overall we have observed and would like to point out is the poor customer service. We also saw and felt that tipping the staff when given service to that their attitudes changed from being closed off and rude to now being opened and positive, tipping should not be demanded to have a good customer service. A lot of coaching with staff is needed to make the whole experience for both staff and guest a positive experience.

Lopesan Spa Resort in Punta Cana is a beautiful property — the rooms are well-appointed, the views are stunning, and the whole place has an energy that’s easy to settle into. The service throughout was excellent, from the bartenders at the discotheque, to Luis J and Dionni at El Charro and Nicole at the Gondola were exceptional. The aguachiles and the lasagna there is also worth ordering. Luis in customer service handled things quietly and efficiently behind the scenes. One suggestion for management: add some charging outlets around the bar areas. Other than that, this place delivers on every front.
