Just got back from a week there. Took my family with teenagers. Activities were engaging for the teenagers, but not quite sufficient to keep them busy all the time. Facilities, location, and staff all excellent. Rooms very nice. Food at the buffets is good not great. It is impossible to have gourmet buffet food when you are serving a few hundred people 16 hours a day. Very good value for the money. À la carte options very good. Recommend planning some excursions off the property if you really want to see coral and sea life.

First time here at occidental cozumel and won’t be the last. The resort is gorgeous and well maintained. The beach is not the longest but beautiful with crystal clear turquoise water.the staff is very polite and welcoming.We just had dinner at Mexico Lindo and everything was amazing: special thank you to david, samos, miguel and Luis that made it a night to remember. As for the buffet , the breakfast is great , at night we never went hungry and was able to find good food throughout the week. The beach buffet for lunch is great and the vue is very nice. It’s the perfect getaway vacation for relaxation and lush tropical feel. Can’t wait to be back

The resort is extremely beautiful - placed in a tropical parc, well maintained and full of lush vegetation. We stayed at Royal level and used mostly the restaurant there. La Carreta restaurant staff is hard working, particularly kind and very professional : Lupita, Carlos Uch, Juan-Carlos and David the captains. Claudia and Armando. Jimmy - the best chef you have at royal level. They all are very hard working people, friendly and very attentive to our needs; they make our stay super special. Then there is Noemi - she is one of your best employees and we are very happy to see her hard work, professionalism and dedication being recognized - she deserves it!. Please make sure you keep this very very good people at the royal level, because it matters a lot. We went to the lunch buffet twice and to dinner twice - the food went down a lot in quality, that is not good for the resort at all and that is something you must improve asap if you want to keep your resort at a proper capacity. Employees at the buffet do their best with what they have - and they don't have much to cook with or the quality of products is not that good. Also AC at the dinner buffet must be replaced asap - there is no air in there. and that is very bad. Amazing improvement - now Occidental has the best beach in Cozumel! However, please make sure the chairs are washed. There is a very very hard working and nice employee- Jesus Frias, he does his best but one person to care for all the chairs is not possible... Buy new ones as the ones you have are old - Allegro has better chairs and towels too. I love the no card towels but for that to work, you need to double the numbers of towels you have. Many times we went there were no towels available. Food was very good, tasty and cooked properly. I would suggest once a year to change an item on the menu, this way in a few years there would be a new entire menu. Jimmy is a very. very good chef.

The First Club staff is exceptional. This was our first year using our membership so we didn’t understand the best way to use it. Alberto and his team did a great job of explaining everything. Merial showed us the best way to use our points for excursions and activities. When Alberto did not have a vendor for an activity we wanted to do, he helped us find a reputable alternative. Before our trip started Alberto was able to answer our questions about the resort since it was new to us. The Team also congratulated us on all the anniversary and birthday events we were celebrating and delivered flowers to our room. Gabriel and Ricardo from the vacation club team were incredibly helpful in assisting us for future trip planning and maximizing our membership. We used the first club lounge to play cards at night. It was great and a lot of fun. We have only been to 2 resorts - Xcaret and Cozumel. Both were great. Cozumel is much more laid back while Xcaret has a party all the time. We have enjoyed both and both resorts have been wonderful Thank you Cozumel staff for a wonderful time!!

Had a romantic dinner at Coral this evening and it was spectacular. Capitán Aurelio accompanied by Ismael ,Jhony, and Betty are amazing. Very attentive throughout the evening . The service was stellar. Must not forgot the chef who put careful thought into the special menu tonight. Also had a great experience when we went for our couples massage. Lizeth and Yaderi have great hands. Good pressure throughout the entire massage . Would go back and see them
