Had a family trip in mid May 2026 with three rooms. We were in the building closest to the Lobby area, which was nice for evening dinners. I loved my room and the shower was amazing. Our concierge, Alberto, was so helpful. My phone didn’t work and he had it fixed within a couple of hours. He set up all our dinner reservations and was available whenever I had questions. The food was quite good and room service was hot when delivered. The housekeeping service was excellent as was the gentleman who stocked my water. The grounds were lovely and the pool was very nice. Great bartenders and yummy drinks. The only thing I wish they had was poolside drink service. Loved the Michael Jackson show. This is a much smaller resort than we usually go to, but I’m older so I liked not having to walk as much. Another plus was that you could get para sailing and jet ski excursions right from the beach in front of the hotel. Four of our group even went skydiving which was very close. Would definitely recommend.

I came to Playa del Carmen with my sister for a relaxing getaway, and this resort exceeded all of our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with their friendly and attentive service. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing stay. The resort itself is beautiful, with top-notch amenities, spotless facilities, and everything you need for a stress-free vacation. There was always something fun to do. Special thanks to Brandon, the entertainment was outstanding and truly five-star quality. Also a special thank you to Ricky our Concierge who made sure we were well taken care of. Whether we wanted to relax by the pool, enjoy great food, or take part in the activities, there was never a dull moment. If you’re looking for the perfect place to unwind while enjoying exceptional service and incredible amenities, I highly recommend this resort. We had an unforgettable vacation and can’t wait to come back!

The best part of this resort was the staff. They were genuinely kind, upbeat, and excellent at their jobs. We loved interacting with the entertainment staff; Mariana, Alexis, and Brandon did a great job with all of the activities and made things fun! The food was very good at all of the restaurants, no complaints there. The pool staff were kind and attentive as well. Ricky and Armando were excellent concierges as well. Again, the staff was excellent here. I took off a star for the rooms because the air was stagnant at times and would have liked them to be cooler (same with the restaurants).. Originally we were in the honeymoon suite, which was nice, but the air was not working and the view was of the garden and a wall to another resort, so it was not what we were looking for in a room. The staff was accommodating and we were able to upgrade and move the following day. We ended up staying in the presidential suite with an ocean and pool view and the room and service was excellent for that room and location. The room was gorgeous and was extremely clean as well. This resort was smaller, but personal. It depends on what you are looking for in a resort. My review is based on our specific room and our interactions with the staff, which were all wonderful. We will miss the staff for sure!

We just spent a phenomenal week at Royal Hideaway Playacar, and it completely won us over. While the grounds are impeccably kept and the location is absolute paradise, it was the incredible staff that truly elevated our vacation. We actually witnessed some incredibly entitled guests treating the team poorly, yet the staff handled it with absolute grace, professionalism, and a genuine smile. That speaks volumes about the caliber of people working here. The atmosphere was fantastic, especially the intimate vibe of the restaurants. Instead of massive, noisy dining halls, the smaller venues made every meal feel special and exclusive. The food itself was consistently outstanding (though we unfortunately missed out on Spices due to an HVAC repair). The bartenders were wonderfully generous with their pours, and Mariana was an absolute standout—her kayak tour was incredibly relaxing and refreshing! I don’t typically do all-inclusive resorts, but after hearing other well-traveled patrons rave that Royal Hideaway is hands-down the best in the area, I can safely say we will absolutely be back.

Bradon was an outstanding activity host at the pool! He made the activities so much fun and kept everyone entertained, but he also knew how to strike the perfect balance. He wasn’t overbearing or pushy, so there was still plenty of time to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. His positive attitude, enthusiasm, and friendly personality really added to our vacation. Thank you, Bradon, for making our pool days so enjoyable. You truly made our stay even more memorable!
