My husband and I stayed at Secrets Cap Cana to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and we had an amazing experience. The highlight of our trip was our butler, Alexis. He was outstanding—helping with restaurant reservations, checking in on us throughout our stay, and making sure everything was taken care of. He truly helped make our anniversary special, and we would absolutely request him again on a future visit. The food at every restaurant was excellent, the staff throughout the resort were attentive and friendly, and the nightly entertainment was fantastic. We especially enjoyed Jon Sena from the entertainment team, who brought great energy and fun to the main pool area. We highly recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club for the exclusive pool, premium drinks, and exceptional butler service. While there was some seaweed on the beach during our stay, that’s beyond the resort’s control and did not impact our overall enjoyment. Secrets Cap Cana is a beautiful resort with outstanding service, great dining, and a relaxing atmosphere. We would definitely return and highly recommend it to others.

This resort exceeded every expectation we had and was one of the best vacation experiences we’ve ever had. What stood out most was the staff. Every person we interacted with was friendly, genuine, and seemed to truly care about making sure we had a great experience. You expect good service at a luxury resort, but the level of hospitality and attention to detail here went above and beyond what we anticipated. The cleanliness of the property was outstanding. Our room was the cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in at an all-inclusive resort, and that same standard carried throughout the entire property. Everything was spotless, well-maintained, and clearly cared for. We stayed in the Preferred Club, and when we return, we’ll absolutely be booking it again. One of the biggest reasons was our butler, Philieep, who was one of the highlights of our trip. Every morning he checked in to see how our previous evening went, sent us a list of activities for the day, and made sure we had everything we needed. His professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine care made a lasting impression. If you have the option to request a butler, ask for Philieep. The Preferred Bar was conveniently located, and David made some of the best Old Fashioneds I’ve ever had. Small touches like that made the experience even better. The food was easily the best I’ve had at an all-inclusive resort. Every restaurant we visited was excellent, and there was a great variety of options throughout the property. Our favorite dinner spot was Portofino, the Italian restaurant, but honestly you can’t go wrong with any of them. Rosewater quickly became one of our favorite places at the resort. We ate breakfast there almost every morning and always looked forward to it. The Market Café buffet also deserves recognition. I’ve never seen a buffet with that many options, and they continually changed the offerings so there was always something new to try. One unexpected highlight was the cigar boutique near the coffee shop. The selection was excellent, and the cigars showed the craftsmanship you’d expect from authentic premium brands. As someone who enjoys cigars, I only wish I had brought more home with me. Overall, this resort excelled in every category—service, cleanliness, dining, and overall experience. We left already talking about when we’d come back, which is probably the highest compliment I can give. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly relaxing and first-class vacation.

We had an incredible stay at Secrets Cap Cana and could not have asked for a better honeymoon experience. Our room was beautiful, and the housekeeping team kept everything spotless throughout our stay, which made it feel even more relaxing. What truly made this trip unforgettable was the staff. The bartenders and servers went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and taken care of every day. A special thank you to Sandy, Ariel, Raudi, Jose, Marisol, and Jenitza at the walk up pool bar. Their energy, kindness, and attention to detail made every day more enjoyable. The entertainment team was also amazing and so much fun. Oliver, Ice Cube, and Rihanna brought great energy and made each day memorable. This was the perfect honeymoon trip, and we are so grateful for the experience and the incredible team at the resort. The only downside was our travel experience on the way back. We booked the airfare bundle through Hyatt, and unfortunately had issues with the airline partner, American Airlines. This was not a resort issue at all, but something Hyatt may want to consider when choosing airline partners to ensure a smoother overall guest experience. We would absolutely return to Secrets Cap Cana and highly recommend it for a special and memorable getaway.

Please see notes! My fiancé and I traveled here for the purpose of meeting with the wedding team to solidify a few plans up, do a tour, and a tasting. We were immediately greeted right off bat when we were dropped off with champagne and a cool, damp, essential oil towel, which is a nice touch after traveling. I will say up front that the service we got was spectacular. Every time we passed someone, they were always smiling, happy, and offering to help in any way. Thats not an understatement...all of the employees at this location are absolutely wonderful. We were led to reception for check in which was initially fine, but then we got into a bit of a back n forth about the payment being completed ahead of time through the Love at First Site wedding program. I had proof of payment being completed, so it all got worked out. We were then introduced to Dariana, a wedding & events team member who solidified our meeting plans for the next day. We were then introduced to a guy (who I believe is one of the concierge/butlers) who led us to our room, pointing out places and things to note along the way there including restaurants and things to note. He also took a handful of minutes to explain things in our room to make sure we know how everything works, which was appreciated! Soon after our bags arrived and then our concierge Baretto came to introduce himself to us. He took the time to make sure we got everything we wanted for our room and if we needed him to make any reservations for us. He also checked in with us via WhatsApp and periodically found us around the resort. Loved having his help! He also arranged for housekeeping to do a special anniversary turn down for us with rose petals and chocolates! Dariana went above and beyond with our wedding meeting. Not only did we do what we expected, but she also set up for the photographers and the company that does the decor and flowers to meet with us as well. After meeting with them and doing our full venue tour, we went for our tasting. Samuel from the wedding & events team also joined us. We were blown away with almost every single thing we ate, which will make it hard to make a decision for the food for our wedding here next April! We had the best time talking with them, trying out the different food items (which I think they appreciated because they dont normally get to eat the resort food, making it hard for them to make recommendations normally), and getting to know each other. It will make our wedding day so much easier with them knowing us, our personalities, and what we will want & experience with our big day. I'm feeling 100x better about our wedding plans after experiencing the resort and meeting a couple of the different team members and vendors. When it was time to check out and we had an issue again with them asking us to pay the bill. I showed them the payment receipt again, and then they got it fixed up after about 5 mins. We were so sad to leave when it came time, but we are so excited to make our way back in April 2027 for a solid week for our wedding with family and friends!

We left Secrets Cap Cana disappointed. The property is beautiful, the rooms were very nice, the grounds were well maintained, and the close proximity to the airport was convenient. The gated Cap Cana community and security presence at the entrance to the resort also made us feel very safe. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to the premium price or five-star reputation. The biggest issue was management and the lack of follow-through. Throughout our stay, we repeatedly raised concerns and were promised solutions that never came. We even met with upper management before leaving and were told someone would contact us after we returned home. Despite multiple follow-ups, nobody ever reached out, and we ultimately had to dispute the charges with our credit card company. I’ve never experienced this level of poor hospitality at another all-inclusive resort. The food was mediocre (why is there little to no Dominican food?!), the daytime and evening entertainment/activities were underwhelming, and one of the events we were most excited about, the beach party, was canceled due to rain without being rescheduled. Even the drinks lacked consistency, with the same cocktail tasting completely different depending on where or when it was ordered. The pool experience was perhaps the most frustrating part of the trip. There were simply not enough chairs and umbrellas for the number of guests, despite 90-degree sunny weather every day. Guests shouldn’t have to wake up early and compete for a shaded place to relax at a resort charging these prices. The pool itself was way too warm to be able to cool off from the heat, there was very little shade, limited restroom access, and the multi-level design made it inconvenient to move between areas. Why are there no stairs to get in and out by the only swim up bar? Perhaps most disappointing was that it often felt as though service required either repeated pushback or cash tips. Requests for assistance with simple things, such as finding chairs or umbrellas or ordering food from Seaside Grill poolside, frequently went unanswered until we persisted. While we understand that tipping is appreciated, we did not expect the level of service at an all-inclusive resort to feel dependent on carrying cash. In our experience at other all-inclusive resorts, courteous and attentive service was provided consistently to all guests. The whole reason many people choose an all-inclusive is for the food, drinks, entertainment, and the opportunity to truly relax. For us, those were the areas that fell shortest. While there were certainly positive aspects of the resort, the experience ultimately did not justify the price we paid. UPDATE: We finally received a response from the Chief Concierge (is this even a manager?), well after the deadline we had been given and provided. Although the resort acknowledged many of the service failures we experienced, the only resolution offered was a complimentary Preferred Club room upgrade on a future stay. In other words, we would have to spend MORE money to return to a resort that failed to deliver the experience we had already paid for. After spending more than five hours of our vacation trying to resolve these issues (and even more after we returned home), we found this response extremely disappointing. What could have been an opportunity to restore our confidence in the resort ultimately felt like another missed opportunity to make things right.
