My wife and I stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and again a year later with friends, and we absolutely loved it! The staff, the service, the views, the spa, entertainment, and amenities are all fantastic for a good value too. The food and pools are also very nice for an all-inclusive -- maybe not the best compared to other resorts in the area, but such a great experience. Would love to give a special shoutout to the entertainment staff who made our experience wonderful, including Aranza, Sergio, Fermin, Karely, Juan, and Jazmin!! Y'all are amazing! I was so thrilled to win their "Secrets Idol" contest that they throw, and they made it such a memorable stay. I'd advise caution when participating in their sales meetings to join Unlimited Vacation Club. Remember that they are optional. My wife and I had buyers remorse at first joining UVC years ago, and while we've been happy with the decent use we've gotten out of it, their tactics to get you to join are a bit aggressive. All of that said, I'd highly recommend this place!! It's also so close to lots of other places for day trips like Xcaret, cenotes, etc. Enjoy!

We were with a group of 10 people and upon arrival the check in process took too long (about 1 hour). We were not shown to our room but directed to it, and our luggage arrived 30 min later. We also were not shown the amenities in the room. Every day we had an issue with our TV and maintenance was called multiple times over stay. The lighting in the bathroom could be brighter. Attempted to call room service later one afternoon and could not get through (attempted 4 times). Overall the resort is beautiful, service was great in bars and restaurants, the staff was friendly and our room was cleaned everyday. We did appreciate the light on the outside of the door showing if you needed housekeeping or not. We've had better experiences at other resorts that have cost less. It feels like you pay for the name "Secrets".

The resort is beautiful. The location is just okay. Hear me out. I was there for 4 days. I was a solo room occupant for a family wedding with a group of 30. The bad and the good. First, they “cannot guarantee room preference”. Then what is the purpose of a reservation. I wanted a king size bed. I got two full size beds. Score = 0. Second, it’s not “all inclusive”, it’s mostly inclusive. Up charges for steaks, beach cabanas, wine, special restaurant experiences. There are no water activities. Third, typical resort BS where people “reserve” beach and pool chairs and do not occupy them. If you head out at 10 AM, there’s almost nowhere to sit. Fourth, the main pool bar was severely understaffed. It literally took me 15 to 20 minutes to get one drink. And I still gave them a tip, but it didn’t matter when you came back. Two bartenders trying to take care of everybody and restock, wash glasses, there was no bar back. The beach: the beach is severely lackluster. It’s not very big, there’s tons of seaweed, they remove the seaweed all day, but you get to listen to the four wheeler and the tractor all day. Not very relaxing. The water itself is rocky and it’s not good for ocean swimming. If you want a good beach, go to Aruba, Bavaro Beach in the Dominican Republic, or seven Mile Beach in Jamaica. The good: The food was very good. There are five restaurants for dinner. I was only there three nights so I could only eat at two of them and the food was very good. The third night was for the wedding and we had a catered meal on the rooftop, which is also very good. The service: except for the pool bartenders, the rest of the staff was outstanding. The room: I had a couple of maintenance issues with my room that were taken care of in a timely manner. OK, but should’ve been fixed before I got there. The mini fridge: the only had am still ultra in the fridge. This is my fourth trip to Mexico, and this is the worst beer I’ve ever had. The technology: I didn’t like that I had to use my phone as my room key. I didn’t like leaving my phone by itself when I went to the pool. I didn’t know that getting a key card was an option because it was an offered to me when I checked in. The resort app would not allow me to order room service at night. I had to use my phone, but the phone didn’t work, it took them a day to fix the phone. The resort map was not completely accurate. It showed some of the facilities essentially out in the jungle/parking lot. The resort property is fantastic, there’s several different pools, some of them are intimate for a small group, the only downside is that the pools close at 6 PM The speakeasy nightclub is fantastic. The 24 hour coffee shop with pastries and ice cream was also very good. For the cost of a single occupancy room of $720 a night, I will never return. And this is soured me to ever going to a secrets again.

Absolutely flawless service from start to finish. I've travelled the world and have stayed in hundreds of 5 star hotels and I can tell you non come close to the level of service and attention to detail from that service. The staff training here is a benchmark for all 5 star hotels to follow. The property itself is a massive overwhelming luxury hotel that offers the world to its guests. Absolute perfection and I will be telling everyone in Australia to come over and experience what true luxury feels like. Thank you for making my Mexican holiday one I will never forget

Newer resort, and overall in good condition, but the food and other portions fall short of even a 4 star experience. The food is really the most dissatisfying. The breakfast buffet is vast, but unless you get something made at a station, the food is cold and rather bland. We tried all of the restaurants except the French restaurant and they all were disappointing. The most disappointing and one to stay away from is Ember. The steak had a consistency that was unsettling, almost like a Salisbury Steak. There is an opportunity to buy “upgraded” options, but we did not. We did buy wine during a couple of services, and I would suggest to buy this as you sit down as the bottle took a while to show up and in one instance arrived at nearly the end of dinner. We were also overcharged for the wine at checkout, which I didn’t have the time to fight, so make sure you review the bill carefully and give yourself extra time for that process. Finally, as many have mentioned, the lighting in the rooms is insufficient and we had additional issues during our stay with both the power and separately the television. Both were addressed, but the television issues were never resolved. Overall, it’s nice, but it is not a 5 star or even 4 star experience for me.
