The resort is beautiful. The location is just okay. Hear me out. I was there for 4 days. I was a solo room occupant for a family wedding with a group of 30. The bad and the good. First, they “cannot guarantee room preference”. Then what is the purpose of a reservation. I wanted a king size bed. I got two full size beds. Score = 0. Second, it’s not “all inclusive”, it’s mostly inclusive. Up charges for steaks, beach cabanas, wine, special restaurant experiences. There are no water activities. Third, typical resort BS where people “reserve” beach and pool chairs and do not occupy them. If you head out at 10 AM, there’s almost nowhere to sit. Fourth, the main pool bar was severely understaffed. It literally took me 15 to 20 minutes to get one drink. And I still gave them a tip, but it didn’t matter when you came back. Two bartenders trying to take care of everybody and restock, wash glasses, there was no bar back. The beach: the beach is severely lackluster. It’s not very big, there’s tons of seaweed, they remove the seaweed all day, but you get to listen to the four wheeler and the tractor all day. Not very relaxing. The water itself is rocky and it’s not good for ocean swimming. If you want a good beach, go to Aruba, Bavaro Beach in the Dominican Republic, or seven Mile Beach in Jamaica. The good: The food was very good. There are five restaurants for dinner. I was only there three nights so I could only eat at two of them and the food was very good. The third night was for the wedding and we had a catered meal on the rooftop, which is also very good. The service: except for the pool bartenders, the rest of the staff was outstanding. The room: I had a couple of maintenance issues with my room that were taken care of in a timely manner. OK, but should’ve been fixed before I got there. The mini fridge: the only had am still ultra in the fridge. This is my fourth trip to Mexico, and this is the worst beer I’ve ever had. The technology: I didn’t like that I had to use my phone as my room key. I didn’t like leaving my phone by itself when I went to the pool. I didn’t know that getting a key card was an option because it was an offered to me when I checked in. The resort app would not allow me to order room service at night. I had to use my phone, but the phone didn’t work, it took them a day to fix the phone. The resort map was not completely accurate. It showed some of the facilities essentially out in the jungle/parking lot. The resort property is fantastic, there’s several different pools, some of them are intimate for a small group, the only downside is that the pools close at 6 PM The speakeasy nightclub is fantastic. The 24 hour coffee shop with pastries and ice cream was also very good. For the cost of a single occupancy room of $720 a night, I will never return. And this is soured me to ever going to a secrets again.

My husband had been to this resort two years ago and raved about the experience. Unfortunately, this time around didn’t meet the same level of expectation. We still had a lovely trip, but for the price, I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 star resort. If we visit Cancun again, we’ll try a different resort. Service: The service was sub par. We had to get our own drinks and water frequently due to slow service. At a 5 star resort, my expectation is to be frequently checked in on and have above and beyond service. That wasn’t the case. Of course there were some great employees who truly cared about the service they offered that I don’t want to overlook. Things like room service also took way too long and didn’t deliver on time. Food: The restaurants were also very slow to bring out our food. At times, we didn’t have time to wait any longer for the food because we would miss a show. Each restaurant seemed to have varying quality of food. My favorites were the Asian/sushi restaurant and Bamboo. I definitely had higher hopes for the food. I ordered clam pasta at the Italian bistro and basically got a mouth full of sand … You also have to use the app to reserve dinner times before hand which was annoying having to plan so far ahead. If you didn’t have a reservation, the wait time would be about 30-45 mins. Room: I loved our room! We had a private swim out pool which was lovely. Housekeeping was great and kept our room stocked with waters and clean towels. Property: The property was beautiful and clean. Super lush and the pools were amazing. They always have nice music playing so it’s very relaxing and romantic. There were plenty of pool towels and comfy lounge chairs. App: You have to use the app for EVERYTHING, which got annoying. From unlocking your room, ordering room service, making dinner reservations, asking for a pillow, etc. Shows/Live music: The live music each night was lovely. The quality of musicians was top notch! We went to the Elements show and were really impressed! Super interesting tricks and again great music.

We wanted to love this resort, but unfortunately, our experience was heavily impacted by the food quality. First, the positives: The property itself is beautiful, the pools are absolutely stunning, and our room was excellent with absolutely no issues at all. The staff members are also incredibly friendly, attentive, and work hard to provide great service. However, we paid a significant amount of money to stay at a 5-star all-inclusive resort, and the standard of food here simply doesn't match the price tag. We travel quite a bit and have a generally strong stomach, but the food here completely caught us out. On our second day, I got food poisoning from a room service order. Since then, it’s been a constant battle—either myself or my partner have ended up with a bad stomach immediately after eating meals here. The quality control is severely lacking. The breakfast buffet food is routinely served cold, and the overall standard is just very poor across the board. When you pay a premium for a luxury all-inclusive experience, you expect high-quality dining, not to be dealing with stomach issues after every meal. It is a real shame because the room, the resort, and the staff look and act the part. But until they fix their basic food hygiene and kitchen standards, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Where to start? This is a rather expensive resort to book so I have to be honest. The service..AMAZING. Everybody is top notch. I cant say enough about the staff. They are the best. The restaraunt food was to die for. But there is a learning curve. Just understand you can aleays order more . But....there is a timeshare pitch when you arrive. There is no explaination of how things work to reserve restaurants and everybody on the first night has to eat tacos because the restaurant wait time is 45 minutes. The room fully exposes anybody taking a shower. The minibar has only beer as alcohol so on your honeymoon?? I guess go to the bar and order 10 glasses of wine before you..begin? Given the price, you should not have to order a $30 bottle. The The toilet is separate from the shower..has no fan and smells like swamp water (bring a toilet disk like purple lavender ty d bol) and spray. The TV is useless. 400 Mexican channels with NO ABILITY TO STREAM you Roku. The pools: hot hot and more hot They feel like bath water..every one. There is no cooling off outside. And you only get 1 day at the spas cool pool if you upgrade to premier club. Bring a floatie. The shows were great..especially the Steam punk concert Quirky. Wow. Would not go again based on price but the people...Wow .every one was amazingly nice and accommodating but it confusing. For instance entertainment shows that there's a fire show tonight. But you also need to go early to ASADO..the barbeque to get a seat at a table and that is only available if you download the app. Go to Culinary experiences and scroll to the very bottom Asado. There is a Benihanna type experience booked 7 days in advance though the same app. Nobody told you?? You missed out. Dont book a restaurant in time? You miss out. Often 3 days in advance, our options were 6pm or 10pm.. The buffet is amazing but a bit over the top Pork shiskabob for breakfast? Prime rib for lunch and tacos with 100 sauces we've never seen? Is there jelly ..nope but there's a raspberry compote with jasmine truffle essence of jalepeno tempanade...What? Is there toast and jelly? NO. Anyway. The people..every single one .AMAZING. So nice..so helpful..Every one but they did walk into my room unannounced..no knock just BOOM..Im here to refill your minibar. If you dont leave the DND button on .they will walk right in. I have my favorites THIS one is at the bottom

Stayed from 8/14-8/22 EXPERIENCE FROM A VEGAN BELOW Check in - Check in was relatively easy, but I kept telling the staff I was starving since I hadn’t eaten in multiple hours due to short layovers, they still had me sit through the vacation club pitch, which I hadn’t really understood what it was, since other resort I’ve paid for haven’t pushed vacation clubs the second I checked in. They pointed me to a small snack area which had no vegan options aside from apples/bananas/and oranges, which didn’t help since I hadn’t eaten in 10+ hours. They brought me to the Coco Cafe since we were between hours for the restaurants, here they fed me a sandwich labeled vegetarian, which in retrospect was most likely not vegan. I didn’t enjoy having to learn new apps immediately upon arrival, but it did turn out to be a helpful tool. I’d have appreciated f the staff didn’t shove a vacation club down my throat when I was telling them how hungry I was. Premium upgrade - turns out I wasn’t paying for an upgraded room but paying for the upgrade to have access to the rooftop pool and rooftop restaurant, the observatory. Considering these were the two amenities my boyfriend and I used the most I would definitely recommend the upgrade. The rooftop restaurant was the best breakfast option for vegans in my opinion and my boyfriend loved all of the non-vegan options. The pool on the rooftop was amazing, such a beautiful view with a private bar and the most comfortable lounge seating. Concierge - The concierge service was lacking. We came on vacation for my birthday and my boyfriend requested the team move the birthday banner from the door and to see if they could provide vegan cake in the room for my birthday. The assured him time and time again thatchy would take care of it and they didn’t/ They ended up putting up the banner on the door with 2 hours left of my birthday and they didn’t deliver cake until the next evening, where they brought me a non-vegan cake which I couldn’t eat. These are small things that should be simple for a “luxury” resort where we paid premium prices to stay. Overall I wouldn't say this resort was quiet, romantic, or worthy of 5 diamonds. Overall our experience was OK and the only reason we would com back is because of the "vegan friendliness". I would just have MUCH lower expectations if we came back.
