This is for Sunrise Alma Bay Resort in Hurghada. I want to start by saying this resort is absolutely stunning. The pool, the sea, the rooms and public areas are nothing other than beautiful and clean. The pool is huge and has different depths so the kids and adults can play and swim without being out of their depth. The staff are so wonderful, especially the guys in the bars and the room keeping department. The real heroes are the staff like Mohamed in the pool bar who runs around all day to get you drinks so you don't need to get up (so tip this wonderful man) and the other barmen in the bar near reception. They are all so wonderful. There aren't a lot of sunbeds but if you get down to the pool at 8am you will get whichever ones you want. The only downside, is the food. There isn't the greatest selection and if your kid is fussy and will only eat chips, pizza and chicken nuggets, then this resort is NOT for you. All in all though, this resort is an utterly wonderful, happy and joyful place with amazing weather, amazing staff and amazing facilities so I highly recommend. And if you have a late flight, the hotel allow you to stay onsite and use the facilities inc food and drink. And for an extra charge of 30€ you can keep your room until pickup time. Thank you to all the staff who made mine and my families trip so memorable. Also, check out wild safari for quadding and speak to the Panorama Submarine guy and go out and see the corals, fish and go snorkelling! Truly wonderful experiences all round!

Overall the resort is fantastic, the waiters are fabulous, they can't do enough for you. It is important to tip them a few Egyptian pounds, in note form as coins can't be changed in their banks. The resort has a red flag system when sunbathing at the pool and beach, which is meant to stop the dive guys and spa, beauty guys from selling their products, the system doesn't work, we were still hassled by them! On arrival we were told we had booked a junior suite which didn't have 3 beds, even though our room was booked for 3 adults. The manager said he would give us another bed in our room for free, which was funny as we had already paid for a holiday for 3 adults, so we accepted the extra bed. The bed never appeared in our room, it was fine as 2 of us shared a double bed but we needed to ring reception for an extra set of towels for the extra person. The day before checking out we requested a late check out and were told there was a charge, we said we didn't really want to pay as we hadn't received the extra bed. The next day we discussed the charge with the manager who said we needed to ring reception for the extra bed and because we didn't do that he assumed we didn't want it, he didn't state this, he said he did, the room was an extra £26 for a late check-out. Apart from this we can't fault the resort. The food was plentiful and tasty. There is 2 a-la-carte restaurants, which can be visited as many times as you want during your visit. We visited the Asian restaurant and the meal was beautiful. The beach at the hotel is clean, with a lifeguard on site at all times. There is lifeguards on duty at the pool at all times. A beautiful resort with fabulous staff.

Alma Bay Resort Hurghada We spent 2 weeks at the hotel. The atmosphere of the hotel is calm, pleasant. The staff is excellent in every way, helpful, kind and cheerful. The rooms are large enough, the kettle, coffee and tea are useful in the morning. The daily cleaning is excellent. The pool is cozy and large. It is easy to enter the sea, not too rocky. The restaurant has a wide selection of food. In addition to the main restaurant, you can book 2 thematic restaurants (Asian, Italian). The hotel gardens are beautiful, tidy, with wonderful flowers, trees, palm trees. The service providers (massage, beauty salon, Dr. Fish...etc.) are not intrusive. The hotel staff are all helpful and kind. Thanks to all the waiters named Ahmed at the Island bar. Thanks to the elderly but always smiling Ahmed, who helped the bars, the festivals and everyone else all day as a delivery man, cleaner, dishwasher. Thanks to the gardeners for the beautifully kept gardens, flowers and trees. Thanks to Ali the lifeguard for his attention. Thanks to Chef Mahmoud and his colleagues and all the kitchen staff for the delicious food, the wonderful decorations and hygiene. Thanks to Mr. Wale the night manager for his kindness, the beautiful room, his helpfulness and all his kind words. Thanks to Mr. Ibrahim the hotel manager for his helpfulness and for running the hotel properly. Thanks to the staff at the main entrance and the main building gate for their kindness. Finally, we would like to thank all those who contributed to the perfection of our holiday. The only negative thing about the hotel is the currency exchange. Unfortunately, the machines in front of the hotel do not exchange money and we were not able to exchange money at the reception on any occasion. This would be a good thing to change. We couldn't use the Wifi in the hotel, and there was no internet even after connecting. This would also be a good idea to improve it so that the Wifi can be used in the rooms as well.

The resort itself is excellent, has a very fresh and a refreshing feeling as you enter and is very welcoming. The swimming pools are of a good standard and enjoyable for all age groups. There are bars outside of the main restaurant which serve drinks and hot food, although I would mention that the food is an everyday repeat with nothing new. Small bars beside pools server usual drinks, chips, burgers and hot dogs, nothing else. The food in these small huts are the same food daily, no variety whatsoever. I would also like to stress that the main restaurant is not big compared to other resorts I've stayed at and it is always very hard to find a table and sometimes your have to wait ages for new plates to be put out again, leaving you hanging around for a while which is very unpleasant. The food itself in the main restaurant is of good quality though. The room I stayed in was a mega family room with two adjoining rooms and both had balcony overlooking the pool and beach which was excellent. Only thing I would like to add about the room is that the inside door handle broke and kept falling off and took ages to be fixed and was only fixed on our last full stay. The evening shows were not really good, very basic and short, nothing exciting compared to other resorts I've stayed at in different countries. The resort could make more of an effort in introducing good evening shows such as adding choreographed dancing, magic shows, stunt shows and various other shows that other resorts do. The resort itself is good but does have several points to improve on.

I liked the hotel grounds, friendly staff, great animators, very tasty food in the restaurants, decent drinks in the bars, excellent room cleaning, cleanliness in the hotel and on the beaches, staff assistance in any matters and questions. I didn't like that soft drinks weren't added to the minibar every week, I ask that more attention be paid to this. I mentioned this incident at the reception, but the request was not fulfilled. I didn't like the price of the hotel services, we agreed on one price, but when we signed the contract it was already different, I ask that more attention be paid to this.
