We had an incredible stay at The Fives Beachfront hotel in Playa del Carmen for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, the service was truly next level. A huge thank you to our personal ambassadors, Alex and Yaremi, who went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of during our entire stay. At one point my wife got sick, and Alex and Yaremi immediately stepped in to help. They arranged for fresh chicken soup made from scratch and had it delivered to our room in about 30 minutes. That level of care and attention meant so much to us and really shows how much the staff genuinely cares about their guests. Our house cleaner Bryan was also fantastic. Our room was always spotless, organized, and refreshed perfectly every day. His attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The food at the resort was honestly the best resort food we’ve ever had. Every restaurant we tried at both resorts was excellent, but the absolute top tier is the restaurant ant the beachfront hotel. Everything is made from scratch and with fresh local ingredients. It takes a little bit of time to come out, but it’s well worth the wait every time. Overall, the quality was far beyond what we expected from an all-inclusive. The rooms are excellent - freshly remodeled and come with top tier amenities. They keep a minibar stocked with snacks and drinks and they serve everything in nice glass bottles (really helps to elevate the experience). If I had to mention one small downside, it would be the wait for the shuttle around the property. Sometimes it takes about 5–15 minutes, but honestly that’s minor compared to how great everything else is. The beachfront hotel does only have one restaurant and limited grab and go options, but the larger resort next door has lots of food and entertainment at all hours. The best part of the trip was being able to come back to our room in the peace and quiet, while also being able to experience the craziness next door on our own time and schedule. Overall, this was an amazing experience, and the staff truly made it unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!

I had the most incredible stay at The Fives Beachfront! From the moment I arrived, I felt so welcomed and cared for, but what truly stood out was how the staff went above and beyond to make me feel special on my birthday. They surprised me in the most thoughtful ways, turning my day into a memory I’ll treasure forever. 💖 The property itself is stunning — beautifully designed with breathtaking beachfront views. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, with so much variety and attention to detail in every meal. The cocktails were a highlight, and I loved being able to indulge while enjoying the gorgeous setting. The service throughout my stay was exceptional. Every staff member I met was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure I had the best experience possible (special shoutout to Carlos and Cristina). The nightly entertainment brought so much energy and fun, and the spa was pure bliss — one of the most relaxing and rejuvenating treatments I’ve ever had. This resort has everything: beauty, amazing service, delicious dining, vibrant nightlife, and ultimate relaxation. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday getaway. Thank you to The Fives Beachfront team for making my stay unforgettable. I can’t wait to return!

Traveling queen

We booked this resort based on the great reviews, but after a week-long stay, we left pretty disappointed. We stayed in one of the rooms with a private pool, and for a newer hotel, the rooms felt surprisingly dated and not very well maintained. They weren’t the cleanest or most well-kept, though we didn’t spend much time in the room itself. The pools were quite cold, and it seemed like there were ongoing plumbing issues — our shower had barely any water pressure and was cold most of the time. The food was also underwhelming, with the same limited menu served daily unless you went to their sister resort. Unfortunately, that resort felt more like a large, crowded hotel — not the intimate boutique experience we were expecting. Food options were also limited for anyone who doesn’t eat meat or seafood. Even though we had informed them ahead of time about dietary preferences, accommodations were minimal and seemed to be an inconvenience for the staff. The beach is public, very busy, and quite noisy. You can’t swim directly in front of the resort due to rocks and crowds, so you have to walk a bit down the shore to get into the water. Service was another disappointment — getting drinks took a long time unless you went up to the bar yourself, and no one came around to take orders or check in, which you’d expect at a luxury resort. Overall, it wasn’t the relaxing, private, or high-end experience we were hoping for. We wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to those looking for peace, privacy, or attentive service.

This hotel is one of the best. The service cannot be faulted. The food is excellent and the staff cannot do enough for you. Special mentions go to Samuel, Frank, Erik, Alessandro, Cassandra, Kevin and all the restaurant staff who go out of their way to make every guest feel special. We will be recommending you to anyone looking to visit Mexico.

Such a beautiful and relaxing spot. Rooms are beautiful and well appointed, food and drinks were always delicious. Beach is a bit rocky but you can go next door to the fives or enjoy the beautiful pool at the resort.
