I stayed at The Canvas Hotel Dubai for work, not tourism, so while the location was not particularly attractive or scenic, that was not my main concern. The real issues were cleanliness, smell, noise, and breakfast quality. There was a persistent unpleasant smell in the room, and the cleaning standards were clearly below basic expectations. The toilet seat had visible stains underneath, which showed that proper checks were not being done. I even left the seat up so housekeeping could notice it, yet it remained unchanged. That made me question the overall hygiene standards. The rooftop music continued until late hours and significantly affected my sleep. When traveling for work, rest is essential. Unfortunately, the noise made it difficult to sleep properly, which impacted my performance during the day. Breakfast was also disappointing. The options were limited and not of good quality. When the hotel was full, guests were sent to a separate room with an even poorer buffet selection, which felt unorganized and inconsistent. I chose this hotel because most other options were fully booked or extremely overpriced due to multiple conferences in Dubai at the same time. However, this stay did not meet basic expectations for a business trip. I would not stay here again.

Great stay with my family of 4, staff very friendly. We were giving a free upgrade to a junior suite which was very nice. Food was delicious, IFTAR was very nice. During busy hours the service was disappointing at times, seemed like thw staff couldnt keep up. Pool was clean and tidy. Would recommend.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, mainly due to the lack of honesty and poor professionalism of the front desk staff. I arrived at the hotel at 6:00 AM after a long journey and was informed that a room would be provided “as soon as possible.” After that, the information kept changing repeatedly: First, they said 10:00 AM Then, they said 1:00 PM Later, they said 3:00 PM There was no commitment, no clear communication, and no respect for the guest’s time just constantly changing promises. This reflects poor management and inadequate training of the reception staff, as if the guest’s time has no value. The issue was not only the delayed room, but the repeated misinformation and lack of transparency. Had I been given a clear and honest time from the beginning, the situation would have been completely different. Instead, I experienced clear disregard for the guest. A hotel that claims to be professional should be prepared to accommodate guests arriving after long flights, not leave them waiting for hours based on unreliable statements. Based on my personal experience: In addition, I was provided with Wi-Fi that did not work at all, which is unacceptable, especially for travelers who rely on internet access. The photos of the pool and facilities online are very misleading. In reality, the pool and amenities are far below the quality shown in the pictures and do not meet expectations at all. Moreover, the location is far, old, and not convenient, which was not clearly reflected when booking. A hotel that claims to be professional should be prepared to accommodate guests arriving after long flights, not leave them waiting for hours based on unreliable statements, while also failing to deliver basic services and accurately represent its facilities. Based on my personal experience: One star is more than enough, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values their time, honesty, or expects respectful treatment.

I had a fantastic stay here at The Canvas Hotel. Service and the room were fantastic ! It was clean, affordable and comfortable. It is close to Deira which is great if you want to explore the old city, however, sometimes it can be a little far from the other side of Dubai but with Uber/Careem regular taxi etc, it's really not an issue !! Honestly, you can’t be close to everything at once anyways !! We will definitely be recommending this hotel again.

Loved the place. Located at Bur Dubai, and walkable distance from Meena Bazar and various vegetarian food outlets, this place is bustling with activity. The service was top notch. The night duty manager during our stay in December is a total gem. Always enthusiastic and with a smile on his face, he certainly impressed us with his professionalism. I am a disabled person, and he did his best to accommodate my requests. I however have a few suggestions - the food options, particularly the desserts need to be improved for the buffet. Secondly, the rooms certainly need refurbishment as they look worn out. Thirdly, with more disabled people venturing out, having only 2 disabled friendly rooms is not helpful. Lastly, during the check-out only one staff was available to help with the luggage which led to severe delay in receiving the luggage almost causing us to be late for our flight, leaving us a little disappointed.
