Distance from resort centre

The hotel is a resort within itself with several restaurants and spa. If you do fancy venturing out, there are several other bars and restaurants within walking distance approximately 850m away in Tangalle. A great way to explore the local area is by bicycle or tuk tuk. You can take numerous trips and tours of key attractions from Anantara Tangalle Peace Haven Resort and Spa. It’s a 30-minute drive to Mulkirigala Rock Temple. Uda Walawe National Park, Mirissa for whale watching, and historic Galle are all approximately 1.5 hours’ drive away.

Distance from airport

Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport is approximately 216km away from Anantara Tangalle Peace Haven Resort and Spa. The scenic drive takes about 3.5 hours. It’s also possible to take a 45 minute flights to Dickwella, which is 10 minutes-drive from the resort. There’s one transfer flight per day or it’s possible to charter a private flight.

Hands down one of my favourite hotel stays in Sri Lanka! 😊 Our stay at Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle was exceptional and exceeded all our expectations from start to finish. A special thank you to our host, Yashani, who was absolutely outstanding! She was always polite and quick to respond, incredibly helpful and somehow always one step ahead in organising everything we needed, making our stay completely effortless. The food was fantastic! The quality of the produce, the variety of the menus and the attention to detail in every dish were truly impressive. The service was excellent! Every member of staff we encountered greeted us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality. Although we didn't manage to get everyone's names, we appreciate Thisari, the restaurant team, housekeeping staff, the poolside staff, the front desk and guest services team and gardeners who all played a part in making our stay so memorable. The hotel itself is stunning. From the beautifully designed rooms with amazing ocean views to the thoughtful welcome treats, luxurious amenities, pool, gym, complimentary activities and the variety of excellent restaurants, every detail has been carefully considered. One of the most memorable touches was that the hotel surprised us with two beautiful cakes to celebrate my parents' anniversary and aunt's birthday without us even mentioning it. It was such a thoughtful gesture! So whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to be pampered, I couldn't recommend Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle highly enough. We had a wonderful stay at Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle and would definitely love to return. We stayed in one of the villas, which was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. The resort itself is stunning, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. The staff were warm, friendly and always happy to help. A special mention has to go to Wiraj at the restaurant, who was exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and friendly, and always went out of his way to make sure all our requests were taken care of. His genuine hospitality really added to our experience. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Anantara Tangalle.

Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle has been a favourite destination of ours for years, and dining at Il Mare has always been a favorite part of our visits. This time, however, our experience was truly exceptional! We had some of the finest Italian dishes we’ve ever tasted, thoughtfully prepared and served by Chef Nipun. Every dish was outstanding, making this visit to Il Mare even more memorable. A huge compliment to Chef Nipun for delivering such an incredible culinary experience. We’re already looking forward to returning and discovering what else he has in store for us! A well deserved five stars for every dish at Il Mare! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This hotel has a wonderful family resort feeling to it. Improvements: International cuisine could be better. For the international prices of restaurants like Verele I expected better quality. Rooms are starting to look a little tired. Positives: The resort itself and the landscaping around the resort is beautiful. Where the international food was okay, the Sri Lankan food is outstanding. Really some of the best Sri Lankan food I've tried. The biggest positive is the service, which I found exemplary. Everyone was incredibly warming with standouts being Niroshan the Journeys restaurant manager, Lakmal from Verele was fantastic with our kid, he's just had a new born, congrats to him. The senior lady at the hoppers stand in Journeys was so warm and friendly. A couple of young guys serving outdoor seating in Journeys are incredibly efficient and no request was too much for them. Overall, the staff and their service made this hotel special for us. Thank you everyone for making it a memorable trip.

A great resort, with exceptional staff at your service in every step of the way - day and night. The facilities are simply great. The resort is clean and well maintained. Every detail is carefully thought of. The room is immaculate. Every time we stepped out of the room and returned, someone has made the room. Special touches though simple go a long way. The food in the restaurants are of high quality, sourced locally. The resort focuses on minimising waste and this is evident throughout all areas. The spa is truly magical. I had my best ever spa treatment here. Overall, this is the perfect resort for a peaceful, quiet way to relax and unwind. One of the best stays ever. Thank you to all staff, from checkin to check out, it’s the staff that makes this resort so magical.
