Our stay at Alila Mayakoba was truly memorable. The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous, impeccably maintained, and feels peaceful and luxurious throughout. A special shoutout to Ommar and Oscar, who went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional — their hospitality, attentiveness, and kindness really stood out and made us feel genuinely welcomed. That said, the food was definitely overpriced for what it was, and unfortunately we experienced hair in our food on two separate occasions, which was disappointing. Despite that, the beauty of the resort and the outstanding service from Ommar and Oscar made our trip very enjoyable overall.

A Truly Beautiful Stay — Luxury Meets Nature This review is long overdue! We stayed here last May, and this beautiful property has stayed in our hearts ever since. From the moment we entered the gates, we felt safe, welcomed, and truly taken care of. The property is absolutely stunning, and the service was superb. Because the resort is so spacious, you can simply call whenever you need to go somewhere, and someone will come pick you up—such a thoughtful and convenient service. We were incredibly grateful to receive a complimentary upgrade to a beachfront room. Waking up and falling asleep to the calming sound of the waves was such a special experience. The sunsets and sunrises were breathtaking and made our stay even more memorable. The breakfast buffet was amazing, especially enjoying it with such a beautiful view. We also dined at Casa Amate and Saffron, and both were wonderful experiences. I highly recommend trying them during your stay. This place truly feels like luxury meets the beauty of nature. I may not be able to name everyone, but to the entire team, thank you for making us feel so special, comfortable, and cared for throughout our stay. A special thank you to Pablo at the front desk, who was incredibly kind and helpful when we checked out. Your warm service was truly appreciated. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be coming back. ❤️

This was our fifth stay at this property—four as the Andaz and our first since it became an Alila. While the rooms have been cosmetically updated, the service has declined dramatically. Our confirmed ocean-view suite upgrade wasn’t honored. Instead, we were assigned a room nowhere near the ocean. The only alternative offered was a standard room about one-third the size of our suite. When I asked if my suite upgrade award would be refunded, the front desk supervisor promised a resolution within 10 minutes. After waiting over an hour with no update, I had to find him myself, only to be offered the exact same room again. Unfortunately, this lack of communication and follow-through defined our stay. The property may look more luxurious, but the hospitality and execution are nowhere near the level expected of a true luxury resort. We used to enthusiastically recommend this resort, but we no longer can. If you’re visiting Mayakoba, I would recommend staying at Banyan Tree, Fairmont, or Rosewood instead. Our experience was so disappointing that we canceled the remainder of our stay after the first night and checked into another resort.

Alila was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The service was phenomenal, we had a watsapp chat with our personal helpers which made everything seamless and smooth! Meaning when we wanted to get a golf cart ride to the lobby they had someone at the exact time we requested. Tip everyone a couple of dollars the staff really appreciates it! They were helpful with giving us information! The golf course is stunning stunning stunning!!!!!! They just had the LPGA tour a couple of months ago! We stayed beach view which I highly recommend. The pools were clean and well maintained! The gym is state of the art with amazing updated equipment! The staff was awesome, friendly, warm, talkative! Watch out for Cwaties and racoons if you’re eating outside your room or by the pool, they are not afraid of you and will take your food! The animals are not an issue by the restaurants tho. Also we are on the same property as the banyan tree hotel and we wanted to go for dinner there and meet some friends. The Alila provided us with transportation as part of the room service and took us there. The beach is stunning as well. Overall it was a great experience! I highly recommend going you won’t regret it!

We stayed at Alila Mayakoba for 4 days and had an excellent experience. The hotel is new, not crowded, and has great vibes. The location, activities, and overall service were all outstanding, and the breakfast buffet was amazing. The staff really made the stay special—Miguel and Immanuel at the bar, Jan from the front desk, and all the buggy drivers were friendly and helpful. The GM was also very kind and approachable. A special mention goes to our host Anna, who truly went above and beyond on multiple occasions. She was incredibly helpful, well-informed, and reassuring, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was seamless and enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back!
