I would give this resort zero stars if I could. I honestly do not understand all the five-star reviews. We have stayed at many resorts in Cancun, and this was by far our worst experience. We paid extra for the Premium Level, but nothing about our stay felt premium. Food: The food was very disappointing. Even my kids did not like the ice cream. Restaurant reservations were almost impossible to get. You can only book 48 hours in advance, yet somehow the restaurants were already fully booked for the next five days. We also did not receive any noticeable priority or benefit from being Premium Level guests. Service: There was no poolside service. Every time we wanted a drink, we had to wait in a long line at the bar. Communication was also difficult because many staff members did not speak English, so we frequently had to use Google Translate. The staff member at the activity desk was especially rude. At 5:30 p.m., she refused to give my son a ball to play with because the desk was closing at 6:00 p.m. She did not provide any reasonable explanation. Rooms: The rooms were clean and comfortable, which was one of the few positive parts of our stay. Kids Club: My kids could not stay there for even an hour because they were so bored. It seemed like the staff mostly kept the children inside watching television instead of offering engaging activities. Also, be prepared to feel hot throughout the resort. There was little or no air conditioning in the lobby, theater, or elevators. The only place we could comfortably cool down was inside our room. Overall, we have visited many resorts in Cancun, and unfortunately, this was the worst one we have stayed at. We would not return or recommend it.

Barceló Maya Palace completely exceeded our expectations and changed our perception of what an all-inclusive vacation can be. The property is beautiful and incredibly well maintained. The rooms were big, clean, and comfortable, and the staff consistently provided friendly and attentive service throughout our stay. Every interaction we had left us feeling welcomed and appreciated. The food was a major pleasant surprise. We expected typical resort food, but many of the meals were genuinely excellent. One of our favorite perks was having included room service with the Premium Room upgrade, which was a game changer. Being able to order food to the room whenever we wanted added a level of convenience that made the trip even better. One of the kids said it was their favorite thing about our stay. There was no shortage of things to do. Between the pools, beach, wildlife around the property, activities, and entertainment, our family was never bored. One of our favorite things was the Flowrider surf machine. We paid for the 1hr private lesson and went from beginners to feeling confident, and can't wait to come back and shred it some more. It’s rare to leave a vacation feeling like the experience lived up to the marketing photos, but Barceló Maya Palace actually exceeded what was in the photos on the website. We had such a great time that we’re already talking about coming back. Highly recommended for those who want good food, and good vibes.

We are on our 10th day of a 10 day trip and our last meal is in the brasserie French restaurant. We’ve eaten here four times as it is our favorite. We want to give a shout out to our servers Carlos Yah and Reyi Campos who are so friendly and attentive, as well as the hostess Diana Merinero at the front door, who is always so welcoming. You must try the pistachio ravioli and the Lobster cappuccino soup at the Brasserie. We also love the lamb chops and the salmon. Congrats to chef Luis Mendoza for doing such a great job in the kitchen. We got him to come out and give us his recipe for the pistachio ravioli. On the whole, our stay here has been wonderful. We look forward to returning. We’ve been to many resorts in Mexico in the Caribbean and this is one of our favourites. We also recommend renting a cabana at the adult only pool. It’s calm, relaxing and beautiful. Last thing, we must say that the servers at the breakfast and lunch buffet, as well as the managers have all been so accommodating and lovely. They really do things right here at the Barcello Maya Palace!

What an incredible place to truly call a vacation! Our teens had the time of their lives, from the endless aquatic activities to the fun nightly shows; there was always something exciting to do. The views around the resort are absolutely breathtaking, and the food options were consistently delicious with so much variety to choose from. But what will truly bring us back is the outstanding service. Every staff member we interacted with was professional, kind, and genuinely committed to making our stay comfortable and memorable. Their warmth and attention made the entire experience feel personalized and effortless. This resort delivered everything we hoped for and more. We had such a wonderful stay here at Barcelo Hotel Buffet Mirador with our family! The resort was beautiful, clean, and so relaxing. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, and they made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Especially Rosa Mendoza and Natanaeal Soto at the buffet. Everything was well maintained, the atmosphere was peaceful, and there was plenty for our family to enjoy together. It truly felt like a perfect little getaway. We made such great memories here and would definitely love to come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and family-friendly resort!
