  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurants and bars at the complex - all the à la carte restaurants require prior booking and have a dress code.

If the resort was top-notch. Absolutely zero complaints. The food in each of the à la carte restaurants was amazing. However, our favorite was Dolce Vita. Two servers in particular were outstanding and made our time there particularly special. They were detailed oriented and very attentive. We had saved Dolce Vita for our last night, and I’m so glad we did, because servers Gilberto Lozano & Cristopher Morales accommodated our every request and made our final dinner celebration so special. Hats off to them for being excellent representatives of the Barcello brand. Thank you, gents! And thank you Barcelo for an amazing holiday.

Dolce Vita at Barceló Maya Riviera – Adults Only was, without question, the standout dining experience of my stay. From the moment we were seated, Gerardo Álvarez and Erubiel Caalal delivered service that was precise, attentive, and genuinely professional without ever feeling forced. The pacing was impeccable. Every course arrived at the right moment. Presentation was refined and thoughtful. The food itself exceeded expectations — not just “great for an all-inclusive,” but genuinely impressive by any standard. Each dish was beautifully plated, balanced, and clearly prepared with care. What truly distinguished the evening, however, was the level of awareness and attention to detail. At one point during dinner with my date, my lap napkin fell to the floor. Before I could even react, one of the gentlemen was at the table, discreetly removing the dropped napkin and replacing it instantly with a fresh one. No interruption. No awkwardness. Just seamless, polished service. That single moment captured the standard they operate at. Gerardo and Erubiel anticipated needs before we had to ask, maintained a professional yet relaxed presence, and ensured the entire evening flowed effortlessly. Their knowledge of the wine selection was equally impressive — and Dolce Vita’s collection is strong. The pairing recommendations elevated the meal even further. After experiencing several restaurants on property, this was hands down my favorite. Exceptional service. Exceptional food. Exceptional presentation. If you dine at Dolce Vita, ask for Gerardo Álvarez and Erubiel Caalal. They set the bar.

Really enjoyed our stay here! Definitely recommend making reservations at the restaurants. Our favorites were La Dulce Vita and Sapporo — our server Modesta De La Cruz was so lovely and the salmon was delicious! The rooms and the whole property was clean. Shoutout to Sarah, one of the activity directors at the pool too, she was so sweet and fun. The weather was gorgeous and it was a lovely week on vacation. The drinks could’ve been better though ;)

Our stay at Barcelo was fantastic—easily one of the best resorts we’ve visited in Mexico! The hotel felt modern and luxurious, with soaring ceilings and wide corridors. It’s quite large, so it took us around 10 minutes to walk from our room to the main areas, which we didn’t mind at all. The pool and beach areas were beautiful, with stunning ocean views. Being an adult-only resort, it felt peaceful and relaxing throughout our stay. Drinks were excellent, and the buffet was solid, but the highlight was definitely the quality of the restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was for an all-inclusive. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The only minor issue was that check-in could have included more guidance on booking restaurants and navigating the resort, as it’s so large, but it was a bonus to have access to all the nearby resorts as well. Overall, we were extremely happy with our experience and would definitely stay here again. The price is absolutely worth it for what you get.

Amazing vacation spot that is perfect for adults looking for some quiet relaxing time but with good adult activities!! Silver was great leading the dance classes and aqua aerobics class! Carlos at the music bar knows what people are looking for and gives generous pours! The beach area is so nice and spacious compared to the other Barcelo resorts next door, you’re never in anyone’s space which is amazing. And it’s also super easy to get beach chairs. Would recommend eating all your dinners in the restaurants - we loved Agave for both the sit down menu and the taco bar and La Comedie the French restaurant. Must eats are the shrimp main and al pastor tacos from Agave and the short rib & lobster from La Comedie! However, the service at the taco was a little slow since we were sitting at the high top tables on the side (not at the actual bar). Also have to mention loved the scaled back shows here - more music focused similar to performances you’d find at a jazz bar or other type of music bar. The Cuban salsa group and violin/Sax duo were great! These are great nightly entertainment options for people who don’t like the big production performances (although it’s super easy and quick to hop over to those theatres and shows with the double decker bus)
