We stayed here for a week 2nd - 10th May . Hotel was lovely and clean rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble . Breakfast buffet was very nice with lots of fresh fruit/ vegetables /breads /pastries . Also a hot buffet . We would definitely recommend to others . We really enjoyed our stay , it was my husband’s birthday while we were there and was surprised with a birthday cake and a bottle of bubbly complimentary of the hotel .

We had a quick getaway in the weekend. The hotel is sparkling clean! Reception was fine, could do with a little more attentiveness & smile. The room was good size and impeccably clean . Had a drink on the lounge outside w an incredible sunset. Spa day for €15 for the circuit & the gym is open 24/7. The hot tub comes in at 30-33 degrees & the indoor pool is 27 degrees. Clean and very relaxing to hang out and start the morning. Glad that we went early at 11am many children came to enjoy the indoor pool at the hot tub was full of people-takes away from the zen. Sauna & Hanmam were clean and soothing. Didn’t have time for a spa service but will return.

This is easily one of the worst managed hotels in the world. The GM - Ana Reis has no interest in customer satisfaction, in dealing with issues as they arise. In fact if you stay here you can expect (as a Diamond Elite customer): Loud announcements in the middle of the night known as the fire system. Rude managers who will speak to you impolitely and then a coercive cover up operation to make sure you can never raise a complaint. In my experience the staff will inform IHG that complaints are already resolved when they are not. They will hide behind their keyboards and not put a single name to emails, refuse access to the GM and refuse access to the Complaint Book which the have a legal obligation to provide in Portugal. The toxic management style has led to a stalinesque approach where there is no redress for any issue. It is also the only IHG hotel in the world that gives a solo drinks voucher when you are two people, yes you must share your welcome drink. Stingy, badly managed by Ana Reis and the team of people around her such as Joao who will treat you rudely, with contempt and surely you’d like to ask, why would I want to spend any time in a 5 star hotel where they’d do this? Absolutely not, go anywhere else! It’s a shame because there are nice areas of the hotel.

Just returned from a fabulous holiday from this fabulous hotel. Cuisine excellent. All staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Excellent location for walking, cycling. Worth the additional cost of a room with sea view.

NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL OR AN IHG property. IHG, THE OWNER. MANAGERS AND FRONT DESK AT THIS HOTEL ARE INCOMPETENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Back in June of 2025 we made a reservation by phone. Later while checking the IHG app we made a second reservation on the IHG app getting a Corp rate. We were planning on getting two rooms so we figured we'd keep them both at this time. A few weeks later (and weeks before the cancel-by date) we emailed the hotel and asked them to cancel our reservations. We received an email response from the hotel that the reservations was cancelled believing all reservations were now cancelled at this time weeks later (and still 24 hours before the Cancel-BY date) the Crowne hotel front desk clerk contacted us directly with a "pre-check-in" email. We immediately emailed him back and told him that we had cancelled our reservations. The clerk then informed us that we had only cancelled one reservation and that there was a second reservation in the system that was still live. Again we immediately responded telling him that we believed all reservations were cancelled and to immediately cancel the second Corp rate one. INSTEAD THE CLERK (AND MOST LIKELY AT THE DIRECTION OF MANAGEMENT AND OR OWNER) THEN PURPOSEFULLY DID NOT RESPOND BACK TO OUR SECOND EMAIL UNTIL THE CANCEL-BY DATE HAD PASSED IN ORDER TO PROCURE A LATE FEE OF A ONE NIGHT STAY ($700). The clerk and Manager then continued to play email-tag with us sending back senseless and cryptic emails but still never cancelling the reservation to ensure we would miss the cutoff date. WE ESCALATED THIS TO IHG CORP SEVERAL TIMES BY PHONE AND IN WRITING. But IHG continued to respond back by saying not to worry, that they would reach out to the hotel and cancel the charge. But after several calls and emails with IHG (and the hotel) IHG claimed the Hotel would not budge and the matter was out of their control. In my view this constitutes fraud and deceptive practices by this hotel. IHG is also guilty of being complacent in the matter by letting this hotel perpetrate this fraud. I also asked AMEX to cancel the charge, but the AMEX representative told me that "the hotel is their client" not me and refused to cancel the charge after a lack luster job of investigating. What's worse is the second reservation on the app doesn't even have the correct spelling of my name so in my view this reservation could've been made by someone else without my knowledge and should be cancelled. IHG, the Hotel owner and Manager and AMEX are not concerned.
