I went there with my wife for a couple of nights this past weekend. The location is good, but the real deal is the service and the organization. The rooms are great (at least the one we stayed in) and the restaurants provided every type of food for every taste. Our dietary necessities were taken into account, and met once we communicated them to the chefs, and employees. All in all we had a great time and the fact that it's an all-inclusive resort makes it even more appealing. I look forward to taking my family there next time, including sons, daughters-in-law and grandkids.

We had the most amazing one-week holiday at Tivoli. Everything exceeded our expectations. We spent our days swimming from morning until evening, and our 5- and 4-year-old boys absolutely loved every minute of our stay. The food was delicious, and every member of staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. The Kids Club truly deserves a special mention—it was the highlight of the holiday for our boys. They couldn't wait to go every day! The daily programme was creative, varied, and so well organised, with different activities each day, plus a fun mini disco every afternoon. The Kids Club team was outstanding and made every child feel welcome, helping them make new friends and create wonderful memories. I also loved the wellness centre. The spa, sauna, and peaceful steam room were the perfect place to relax while the children were happily enjoying the Kids Club. We already miss this holiday and can't wait to come back. Thank you to everyone at Tivoli for making our family vacation so special!

Starting with the positives… The location is superb, situated a 5 minute drive from the beautiful town of Alvor and only a 10 minute walk from the nearest beach. We used the hotel transfer several times during our stay and it was highly convenient. Housekeeping were great and provided clean towels every day. Mad Med restaurant was fantastic and leagues above the other restaurants. We visited on an evening where Portuguese chicken and chips was being served and it felt authentic. The staff were great too. The kids’ pool features 4 slides and was a real hit with our 3.5 year old. She spent hours on the slides every day. Negatives: On arrival the reception area was incredibly busy and we didn’t experience anyone being there to greet or welcome us in the way that we have with other hotels. There were only 2 front of house staff dealing with a mix of people checking in as well as existing guests with queries. There was a significant queue of people and I can only assume that front of house consider this “normal”, as they didn’t seem phased by it or appear to do anything about it. Why not have more people on front of house during busy periods, and why not dedicate some staff specifically to checking in guests and others to answering guest queries? On the contrary, there were two women sat at the guest relations desks who didn’t appear to be helping anyone. When we were finally seen to, we were told our room wasn’t ready. We arrived early, so this was fair enough, but we were also told we would get a message when the room was ready and never received this. When we returned to reception about an hour later, it was just as busy as before, so we asked the guest relations person if they could help and they gave us our room keys. We weren’t, however, given any explanation of where things were in the hotel, no briefing on restaurants, and no information about the pool towel situation, which we later found out about when going to collect towels and being told we needed cards. Our room was fine. It was more or less true to what we’d seen in the pictures, although I would say it looked a little tired and was in need of some TLC. It also smelt a little musty and we weren’t met with that clean hotel room smell that you expect when opening the door to your hotel room for the first time. The bathroom was clean, but there was black mould in the corners. It just missed the bar slightly in terms of feeling luxurious, and I do feel the pictures paint a slightly more luxurious image. We really struggled with the food. The Italian restaurant in particular was pretty poor. Everything lacked flavour and we were told that the fish is reheated rather than freshly grilled. Potentially our expectations were too high, but it was bad enough that we picked at the starters and completely left the mains. The manager of the restaurant was very friendly and did his utmost to rectify our experience, which we appreciated. All in all, I think it’s a good family style hotel, especially for people with young kids and could be even better with some small improvements being made.

Hotel Tivoli was like an oasis of calm and serenity. My room was gorgeous, my villa was near the adults only pool and even though that is not far from the family pools, it was so peaceful and relaxing there. The service was excellent. From Hugo and his team at reception, I felt so welcome and cared for by everyone. They were so kind and happy to help out. The golf cart to my room was a new experience for me that I loved. My driver gave me a tour of the facilities as we passed by and was very friendly. The food was very impressive. There was something for everyone's taste and at lunch one day, I saw a chef come to talk to someone who was celiac and offer to make them their own individual meal just in case the gluten free options had been cross contaminated in the buffet. I had 3 course meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner 😅 it was too nice not to try everything in the buffets! The hotel was fully booked but it never felt crowded. There was always room at the pools or in the restaurants. It gave a very luxurious feeling to relax and know there will be space everywhere. I am looking forward to coming back next year!

We booked a 7 day all inclusive with Thomas cook. Stunning resort with an abundance of pools . However we stayed in October and it was full of families with young and school age children . There are different all inclusive options that were never explained or offered. Your all inclusive drinks vary depending if you are all inclusive basic or premium. For instance an Aperol Spritz is not available on a basic all inclusive. There isn’t any local information unless you travel with Jet2 . The food times vary depending on your package The buffet is a let down , no traditional cuisine. Everything is cooked and left so it gets cold and dry. The coffee tastes bitter. When you book the exclusive restaurants that you are entitled to on a few nights depending on the length of your stay , it is still bland, for instance the cod was dry and bland , the pizza undercooked and soggy . The rooms are stunning with everything you need. Lovely Nespresso pod machine with coffee pods , kettle and teas . Water and milk are provided. Shampoo , conditioner , body wash , toothbrush , shower cap , cotton buds and pads , sewing kit , hand wash and body cream , dressing gown, towels and slippers . However The body cream in our room was full of hand wash . The bathroom and patio was full of ants. The room had a damp musty smell . We arrived at midnight so even though we had all inclusive we had no food till breakfast the next day. When you check out it’s all 12 and you can use everything. But we basically fell short of 3 meals on our stay . The pools are mainly for families with one pool at the back for adults only that gets packed . The towels provided are in need of replacing. The bar at the adults pool has limited drinks and you have to walk around to the Salty bar .
