Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

The resort itself is beautiful and the cast members are great. We loved the boat access to Disney Springs and the grounds. Our issue was the room- do not book a royal room here. While the princess decor and headboards are beautiful, they are extremely outdated. Wall outlet covers were not secure, no USB ports in the room, old TV’s (ours was on Spanish news when we arrived), multiple chips and stains on furniture, our plugs fell right out of the outlets, ironing board was ripped and stained and the AC was caked with dust and what looked like mold. The beds were comfortable though, and the room was spacious with enough room for four. The bed closest to the bath should be moved over, allowing more than six inches to get out of bed without hitting the wall. Storage was also lacking- there were three drawers in the dresser and a shelf above the bathroom sinks. We were on a bounce back offer and still paid almost $900 for two nights here which was way overpriced. After asking the front desk we were told all royalty rooms were like this and were due for renovation next year. The location of the total rooms were close to the main lobby. We ate at the quick service location and the food was good but they are very busy in the evening. We waited almost 40 minutes for our mobile order.

Had the most magical Disney vacation and Port Orleans was a huge part of that! We loved everything about the hotel! The rooms were great and I loved how even though it’s a large resort, it was still so peaceful and beautiful. The pools were perfect (and so much fun), and there were also so many other wonderful amenities offered by the resort (fishing hole, movies, arcade, boat rides etc). The food was great (and when mobile ordering, the food was always ready on time, even during rushes with guests returning from parks etc)! And every single cast member we met during our stay was fantastic, kind, and always willing to help answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this resort and hope to be back in the future!

The ladies at reception were great. Walked us through check-in and did everything they could to ensure our 2 rooms were near each other on the 1st floor for mobility issues. The room was spacious enough to accommodate a mobility scooter. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The resort is beautiful with easy access to the bus depot and boat dock. The food was some of the better we'd had on our trip. The Boathouse Restaurant was great. Our server ensured that we understood the dining plan and recommended delicious dishes. The Riverside Mill Food Court had great options too. I liked that the laundry area was close to our room (near a quiet pool).

We recently stayed at port Orleans riverside. We liked the room but for the price we paid the air conditioner should not be capped at 68 degrees... kind of ridiculous for the price we paid to enjoy this hotel. Even when set to 68 the room always stayed around 70-71 degrees which is way to warm for us coming from the north. I could see if it was capped at 65 and actually went down to that but 68 is way to warm. We don't even turn our heat up that much in the winter.

Despite having booked in for the Magic Kingdom, this was actually very convenient. Good sized rooms, plenty of parking and a central shopping/dining district within walking distance with lots of food options. Nice pool area with a bar next to it and 3 lifeguards!! The resort has direct buses to all the parks, including Magic Kingdom as well as a boat service to the resort next to it if you want a change of scenery or different dining options. The room was big enough, with a fold down bed for kids. Plenty of room for suitcases and even a table and a few chairs. The only downside was that you have to carry your luggage either up the stairs to level 2 or up 4 steps if you're on ground level. The luggage trolley cannot be wheeled to the room.
