I think this hotel and resort is very nice and to standpoint on this review, I think it deserves it’s 4.4 star rating (at the time that I’m writing this) there is still a lot that I think could be improved especially what I would love is that they have a bracelet/band system that divides the kids between the adults(I am 19 M) I was here with me, friends, family, my girlfriend and my dad plus a few friends that we met online and figured out that they came that makes us. A group of 12, which to be honest, wasn’t easy to get a reservation at the most sought after restaurant, but I didn’t think it was that good I think the food quality was pretty good. The rooms were very mediocre. They weren’t like other resorts. I visited where they have treats but they have a lot of drinks and personally top 10 best cocktails I was also here during the Fourth of July event.(a.k.a America’s Independence Day) and I think the party was pretty fun. The entertainment team is very nice and I love that they have their own subgroup for their entertainment which I think are the best. If you would have to ask me I think the best restaurant wasn’t actually a restaurant but a taco truck beside the waterpark next to the special drink bar. i’m going to write a separate review about breathless sense. It was a completely different story, but to put it in a conclusion about it was awkward as hell only me and my girlfriend plus a few friends of mine that came along could enter a since they were above the age and we kind of left a little bit of the younger kids behind since they weren’t above 18 I think the staff are amazing and do the best they can what I find funny is me and my girlfriend and my friends family, the oldest of the sons when we try to get drinks we get yelled at because they think we’re under age. That’s why I would really like a band system because then you can determine from the adults to the kids. We had to bring our IDs everywhere and if you are reading this preview and you were between the ages of 18 and 21 or a very young adult that looks like a kid not to be offensive but you are going to need you to bring your ID everywhere. Absolutely everywhere since the bars are completely scattered in conclusion. I think there is some things to improve about this resort, but between the food drinks and entertainment I would give it a 4.5 star review

We recently stayed at Dreams Onyx Punta Cana for 8 nights (July 28 – August 5), and while there were some positives, our arrival completely overshadowed what should have been a relaxing family vacation. We booked our vacation through United Vacations for 2 adults and 3 children (ages 3, 6, and 10). Our reservation confirmation clearly showed children—not infants. After traveling for more than eight hours, we arrived at the resort with three exhausted children only to be told that their system showed we had booked infants instead of children. Rather than trying to investigate the discrepancy or work with us, the front desk staff simply told us we had two choices: pay an additional $2,500 or leave the resort. I asked to speak with the manager, hoping someone would understand the situation and help resolve what was clearly a reservation issue. Unfortunately, the manager repeated the same response with no empathy or willingness to assist. Imagine arriving in a foreign country late in the day with three young children who are exhausted, hungry, and upset, only to be told you can either pay thousands of dollars on the spot or find somewhere else to stay. It was one of the most stressful travel experiences our family has ever had. We had no realistic option but to pay the additional $2,500 so our children would have a place to sleep. That is not how a five-star resort should treat its guests. Once we got past check-in, the resort itself had both positives and negatives. The positives: * The bell staff were outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help. * The pool areas and water park were excellent and our kids really enjoyed them. * The food was generally good with a decent variety. The negatives: * Our room was average at best and not what I would expect from a five-star property. * The refrigerator made loud noises throughout our stay. * The shower handle was broken. * Several outdoor tiles around the resort were cracked or damaged. * The air conditioning could not be properly adjusted, making the room uncomfortable at times. * Service at the bars was inconsistent. Some bartenders were excellent, while others ignored us and served other guests first, even after we had tipped. Overall, Dreams Onyx has a nice property with good pools and family activities, but the customer service during a serious reservation issue was extremely disappointing. A five-star resort is judged not only by its amenities but by how it treats guests when something goes wrong. Our vacation started with unnecessary stress because no one was willing to investigate or resolve what appeared to be a booking discrepancy. Instead, we were simply told to pay thousands more or leave. That experience alone makes it difficult for me to recommend this resort, regardless of the property’s other positive features.

Had a great trip here with my family. Carlos, Ventura, and Abraham made our trip so much better by their amazing customer service everyday we were there. I was also able to go Breathless next door that was adults only and had a casino. First all inclusive would do again because of the entertainment and amenities of the resort.

The attention and care we received from Freddy, his team, and our personal butler, Mr. Albert, truly made our experience unforgettable. I had my wedding at dreams onyx with 46 guests, and it was an amazing day and week for everyone! My husband and I have been to 2 other resorts in Punta cana, and dreams onyx is easily our favourite of the 3. The food was surprisingly delicious, especially for an all inclusive resort. As a foodie, I actually looked forward to trying out the different restaurants and foods for once at a resort. The resort was perfect for keeping our wedding guests entertained as on top of the typical resort amenities, there was a very fun water park, lively night life at the neighbouring adults only resort (breathless), events every night in the lobby area, coffee and gelato shop open 24/7, etc. The resort was not too small and not too large; I was perfectly fine walking everywhere but some people preferred to travel some places by trolley. Some small details I really enjoyed were there were no wristbands we had to wear or towel cards to keep for exchanging towels. They were also very accommodating for some of my guests that required room changes for various reasons. Restaurants were also first come first serve which I prefer over the reservation system. The wedding department was also amazing, and I have to thank our wedding coordinator Nicaury for all her help. The fountain gazebo where we held our ceremony was beautiful. We unfortunately had to move our reception indoors due to the rain, but still had a great time and appreciated the professionalism of the staff. My only criticism is that I'm not sure the 'preferred club' was worth it. For example we had a butler that I was anticipating more help from based on our experience with having a butler from a previous resort. I won't let this affect my rating though as it did not affect my enjoyment of the resort.
