The resort has met all our expectations, well equipped for several different activities, an amazing beach, pools and restaurants. The food is various, great for any kind of taste, different themes per night which allow you to experience different flavours and cuisines. The entertainment team is the best part of the resort, always up for a game or a dance lession or a fitness activity, never pushy and always smiley! The dancing classes were my fav! The room met our expectations, clean and spacious, just a small down side, it was a bit humid and the clothes felt a bit wet. A special thanks is for our super amazing concierge, Bella. She has been just perfect, smiley, lovely, always ready to help and give advices, address us to the right people and answer to any of our questions, plus for my birthday she managed to sort out special treats for me and i couldn't be happier! A definitely positive experience very recommended to all.

We had a room in building 5 on the top floor. The room itself had a huge vaulted ceiling and the bathroom was fantastic! A couple of problems - we had two rooms for my party of 7 (my wife, kids and I). The room with the ocean view was tied to the older kids while my wife and I had the garden view. The first night, the air conditioner was dripping water and we woke up with a wet bed ☹️ The beach was beautiful, but very packed! Lots of guys that want you to go parasailing and do other water activities. This was nice as there isn't much to do on the resort outside of swim, drink, eat, or play ping pong. The resort offers some in site shopping. The buffets were ok...nothing to write home about. Buffet foods were bland and didn't really have any Dominican flavor like you would find once you got off of the resort. The Japanese and Mexican restaurants were great, while the American restaurant fell flat. It was extremely tough to get refills unless you went to a bar or got them yourself. Even getting drinks during your meal can be tough. Not a lot of English spoken on the resort and those that do speak decent English want you to go to the "timeshare" breakfast so they get their points. My wife and I decided not to go to the breakfast and we were hounded daily by the front desk staff about going. We didn't not see any travel agents on the resort (Amstar or any other travel service). The resort is really close to the free shopping - a nearby store called Worldmart. This place doesn't offer a local shopping experience like you may find further away. Zero negotiating and you are clearly not supporting locals. Overall, this was a super clean and beautiful resort, but service and food were mediocre at best. The staff was very friendly, but really pushed timeshares.

Beautiful perfectly located on Bavaro Beach. Very clever canopy design, you'd have to pay attention to know that everything except the bedrooms are not enclosed. Bathrooms and food could be updated. Everything else just lovely..

I had such a great time at Iberostar dominicana! Fourteen, Baby Black, Little Sexy, Chris Brown, Chocolate, Ray, Heime, and all the staff were amazing, super friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable. There were always many fun activities and crazy games to play and the shows were very entertaining. The food and drinks were good, rooms were clean, and the pool and beach were beautiful. Would recommend and come back!

We stayed at the Iberostar Waves Dominica for 4 nights, and had a good experience overall. Here are some items of note- it’s a bit long, but hopefully helpful! -We checked in super late (around midnight) as our flight arrived after 10pm. The folks at reception were still upbeat and happy to help us (gracias to Juanes and Jose!!) As we were celebrating a birthday, Juanes was kind enough to book our à la cartes for us, saving us from having to do it ourselves; this was a nice bonus! The Higüey buffet had hot food, even after midnight, so this was awesome after a long trip. -Our room was nice, it was clean and the lady who cleaned our room did a great job! We didn’t get her name, but she was lovely and really took pride in the work she did, we were very grateful for a clean room! Our room was huge (3 double beds) and on a high floor, located close to the beach and pool. The only thing is that our room faced the back of the resort, so we were close to the loading dock and staff area, which tended to get loud in the mornings and evenings. -The food was good overall, and there were a lot of options. The best part was the grilled meats at the buffet, and charcoal grill at lunch by the beach. The drinks were also good, definitely better than other resorts we’ve visited. Try their mixology cocktails (Punta Cana and Dominico) and the classic mojito.. these were delicious! -The beach was nice - it was quite windy (red and yellow flags) so there were a lot of waves and seaweed. The beach was cleaned every few hours of the seaweed, so it wasn’t too bad. It’s also a huge beach (shared with Iberostar Waves Punta Cana), so we had no issues finding beach loungers under the shade. Just be aware that vendors are constantly walking around asking you to buy their products or services, so it’s not the most relaxing, but they were not overly pushy for the most part. -There was a lot of entertainment and activities at the pool and beach; everyone was having fun and the staff were very engaging. The one big negative: The timeshare reps (‘concierge’) - they were all over the resort (moreso by the buffet, bars, and hotel room entrance lobbies), and were always looking to ‘help’ guests. I understand they may help in booking reservations, etc., but they were quite pushy, and we learned later that they wanted to approach guests with the offer of help in order to convince them to attend timeshare presentations. We said no several times to various people, but that line was crossed when at 5pm on our first evening, we were showering and getting ready for dinner and one of the ‘concierge’ knocked repeatedly on our door! We thought it was an emergency or something (that’s never happened to us before at a resort) so we answered- she insisted on speaking with us, and after asking several times what for and if it was important, she finally said no problem and asked us to meet her in the lobby the next day at 10am. She never explained why, but after doing some research, we found out it was to get us to attend a timeshare presentation(?!) We know the concierge are just doing their jobs, but as a guest, this was totally uncalled for and annoying for what should be a relaxing evening. Unfortunately, this is one reason we would not return to this resort (or perhaps Iberostar at all if this is common practice). There are a lot of great reviews on here about the concierge, so maybe we just had a negative experience, but definitely keep this in mind when you visit this resort. Aside from that, it’s a typical resort experience and we still give 4 stars for the quality and service received. The staff were lovely and we had a good time overall!
