have visited Cancun Zona Hotels&Riviera maya numerous times stayed at different hotels and never have been treated as well as we were treated at the dreams hotel! The staff is incredibly attentive,understanding,respectful and 100%customer service!Thank you to the manager Antonio who went above and beyond to make sure me and my wife were happy and comfortable. Thank you to employees Aaron,Blanca,Xiochil,Enrique, Manuel,Abraham,Angelica,Angeles,Sharon at the spa,they all deserve recognition because our family is returning because of them. The food was good lots of options especially impressed with the buffet,the rooms were comfortable spacious.I highly recommend this hotel, will be back soon !

Within minutes of arriving, staff was harassing us to visit their sister resort for a “special breakfast” and throwing coupons at us if we agreed to go. It seemed fishy so we turned it down. We literally JUST arrived and got off a long flight. Later, after my husband and I had some drinks, staff hunted us down and again tried bribing us into this breakfast. At that point we said maybe, but the next morning, staff found us again and asked “why didn’t you come to the special breakfast?! We were waiting for you!” And we felt uncomfortable. Hours later, staff AGAIN found us and chased us down about signing up for the breakfast. It honestly went on the entire trip. Extremely offputting. Communication wasn’t great- we split our reservation with Hyatt points and cash, and staff couldn’t figure it out upon check-in despite us trying to explain. So they ended up calling us halfway through our trip and thought we were supposed to check out, and started calling our phone. We had to run over to the front desk to sort it out. We had to run back to our room to get our passports and re-check-in, it was all very silly and should’ve been handled upon check-in. Other than that - the food was decent, 7/10 most days. The Italian and Asian restaurants were the best. Drink service by the pool was pretty good, it’s nice to have waiters coming around to your chairs. Wish more spots were open for lunch, options are limited around that time of day. Beach was pretty nasty but the resort had a truck going all day to scoop up the sargassum - But I will say, neighboring resorts seemed to have much cleaner beaches than ours - do they have a better system/barrier? Our beach was much more soiled/stinky than theirs. We walked down the beach and had a better time off our resort. The resort itself is clearly older but it’s actually pretty well maintained. Our room was making strange noises from the drains at night, but cosmetically it’s not too bad. Spa was amazing and I highly recommend doing a treatment there and using the included amenities- so worth it! Unsure if we would return but the experience overall was pretty decent for the price.

We went to Dreams Riviera for our family vacation and loved it! It was a very beautiful resort. Some small points to deduct would be for the beach, it was very bad with lots of seaweed, despite workers trying so hard and cleaning it a lot. It was the first time we went somewhere that we saw an empty beach, empty lounge chairs and we missed the clear blue waters a lot. The rooms were amazing, clean and spacious. We even had a hot tub in our room inside and one outside, and that was standard, didn't have to pay extra. We were disappointed that they closed the buffet after our first day due to repairs. The fridge had broken down and they were renovating for the whole time we were there. The El Patio restaurant upstairs, replacement wasn't as great, less selection and smaller. We had no choice. I can't really deduct points for this as it's a temporary thing and I am sure would be fixed and open in the near future. The a la carte was nice. We did the Chinese and the Hibachi teppanayaki fire show. Loved that! It was fun and entertaining and the food tasted great. The pools were amazing. Loved the design with the steps and laying in the water. The infinity pool has a bar in the pool and it's very relaxing but adults only. Regarding the entertainment team, we had the most interaction with Edwin and Solidar. Both of these guys were so friendly and nice. We played a fun volleyball match in the pool and somehow, a whole joke started with my husband and Solidar, (and he called him Rico Suave every interaction we had thereafter lol). He chatted with us around the pool and at Desire lounge encouraged my husband to sing at karaoke night which was also fun. Another day I did the aquarium aerobics in the pool with Edwin leading it and it was such a fun activity! (I wish I had done it more than once). We danced and worked out and stretched and the last 2 exercises were our favourite. I did it with my kids, (boys aged 5 and 8) and they enjoyed it too. I would say for families this resort is great. If I could have a rating, I would probably say 4.8 just because of the beach and it was a little old. Everything else was great. The Kids club was also great. We dropped our kids and they played, had rock climbing, treasure hunt, safari tour and face painting. The girls were so nice and reassured me since I was worried, being my first time leaving the kids in kids club. It was our first time in Mexico and we enjoyed it so much and will be back for sure.

I spent the last week there for my birthday. My daughter's birthday and my twin granddaughter's birthday. The granddaughters worked selling Lemonade to upgrade us to preferred. For which we received nothing. We got no extra service. We were ignored by the waitress at the pool cause we apparently didn't tip her good enough. When we checked in we told the lady that we were on a birthday trip and told her my birthday my daughter's birthday and the day we wanted to celebrate the twins birthday. She told me I had to speak with the concierge. We'll the next morning I went to do that and stood at the desk for 30min being ignored while the lady was on her personal phone. So I walked away. On my birthday there was no acknowledgement no cake nothing. Any other time I have been preferred we all ways received cake and champagne and a birthday sign on the door. Here nothing. The next day my daughter emailed them and complained and they sent a stale pice of cake with happy birthday in chocolate on the plate and put a happy birthday sign on the door. Was only done because of the complaint. That day we celebrated the twins birthday and all we got was bad service and nasty attitudes form the wait staff and the bartender in the preferred club. The girls were very much upset over it cause they didn't feel good about the way they were treated. Then I complained and they gave us a bali, bed on the day of my daughter's birthday after I told the lady I didn't want it because it was away from the pool and we were spending the day in the pool. Then she asked where we were going for dinner and she said she would make sure we were taken care of and again it was a big let down service was horrible and we left after dinner as the waiter never came back to ask if we wanted dessert. For the money we paid for this place it was disappointing as we received no preferred service. I would never recommend Dreams resorts as this was not the first bad experience with this brand. The saddest part is that my granddaughters saved to have an upgraded experience and they got nothing for the hard work. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

We recently spent a week at Dreams Riviera Cancun as part of our eight-week Cancun resort research project, and it quickly became one of our favorite Hyatt Inclusive Collection resorts. The two biggest reasons were the outstanding food and the exceptional staff. Antonio and his food and beverage team consistently delivered some of the best meals we experienced during our two months in Cancun. Portofino and El Patio were our favorite restaurants, and Armando and Chef Eddy made every meal at El Patio a memorable one. Our room was spacious, modern, and extremely comfortable. We especially appreciated the thoughtful layout, with the beds facing the balcony instead of a wall, allowing us to wake up each morning overlooking the beautiful tropical grounds. If your budget allows, we highly recommend booking one of the ground-floor rooms with a private plunge pool. The Fourth of July celebration was another highlight of our stay. The resort put together an incredible poolside barbecue with paella, steak, chicken, fresh coconuts, a margarita bar, followed by evening entertainment, a fire show, and fireworks. It was one of the most generous holiday celebrations we have experienced at an all-inclusive resort. A special thank you to the E Team, Antonio for his leadership, Armando and Chef Eddy at El Patio for consistently outstanding meals, and the amazing Coco Café team, who somehow kept the coffee and pastries flowing quickly no matter how long the line became. We also appreciated the countless employees who worked tirelessly every day maintaining the beautiful grounds and keeping the resort looking immaculate. No resort is perfect. We didn't feel the Preferred Club upgrade offered enough value for the additional cost, and unfortunately the sargassum kept us out of the ocean during our stay, but neither issue took away from an otherwise wonderful vacation. Would we return? Absolutely. Dreams Riviera Cancun is a beautiful, well-managed resort with exceptional food, comfortable rooms, and a team of employees who truly care about their guests. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
