Wonderful Stay at Grand Palladium We had a really enjoyable stay at the Grand Palladium. Everything was consistently nice, with friendly and attentive service throughout the resort. The food was excellent—plenty of variety and high quality across the restaurants—and the beach was beautiful with calm, clear water perfect for relaxing or swimming. The swimming pools were a highlight too: multiple options, well-maintained, and never overly crowded. In the evenings, the shows were a pleasant surprise—professional performers, great energy, and entertaining for all ages. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortably furnished. The only minor drawback was that some villas (including ours) are quite close to the highway, so you can hear a bit of traffic noise if the balcony door is open. It wasn’t a big issue for us, especially with the door closed and the AC on, but it’s worth noting when choosing a room location. Overall, a fantastic resort with great facilities and staff. We’d happily return! Highly recommended for families or couples looking for a relaxing all-inclusive getaway.

Our experience at the Grand Palladium took a shocking turn during our visit to the spa—an area that should be the most carefully maintained part of any resort. When we approached the spa pool, something was immediately off. A viscous, slightly bubbly residue floated on the surface—impossible to mistake for anything other than what it was. We later learned a wedding party had just finished, and some very intoxicated groomsmen had been in the spa beforehand. Accidents happen; vomit. We informed the spa attendant right away, fully expecting the pool to be cleared, treated, and temporarily closed. Instead, nothing happened. No testing, no filtration pause, no sanitizing protocol. The pool stayed open as if everything were normal. Guests kept getting in, unaware of what they were stepping into, and I found myself warning people personally—something I never imagined doing on vacation. Coming from a tourism region myself, I know any resort can build impressive amenities and hire plenty of staff. What separates the good from the bad is how they handle moments like this. When the crown jewel of the spa—the hydrotherapy pool with the Roman faucets—isn’t even closed after a bodily fluid incident, it speaks volumes. It shows a willingness to overlook basic sanitation for convenience or optics. And once you see that, you can’t unsee it. This wasn’t just gross—it revealed resort’s true standards, and they fell far short of what any guest should accept

Our experience at Grand Palladium Colonial had some highs and lows. Check-In: Check-in was a disaster. We were a group of 40 and ended up waiting over an hour to get checked in. There was no organized line and not enough staff at the front desk, which made the process frustrating. Rooms: The rooms are villa-style, which is nice for a nature vibe, though it does require walking to reach your room (mini golf carts are available to help). Our first room had mold in the fridge and shower area, so we were moved to another room. The AC in general didn’t cool very well, and the motion sensor system meant the room would warm up quickly after being outside in the sun. The décor is slightly dated but fits the natural theme. Dining: Dining requires planning—reservations are necessary for the À la carte restaurants, or you’ll be stuck at the buffet. They also try to upsell wine or premium menu options if you don’t have a reservation. The buffet is limited, mostly featuring Mexican cuisine. Our favorite dining spot was the sports bar—it’s air-conditioned, serves good À la carte bar food, and makes excellent drinks. The wedding reception service could be greatly improved. Guests were served food they did not order or could not eat, and the cake was sliced and eventually discarded without consulting the bride and groom. This was very disappointing and something that the resort should address. Pools & Beach: The beach area is well-maintained, and the pools are massive with swim-up bars. Note that some areas of the pool are quite deep (5.3 ft). There are plenty of lounge chairs, huts, and trees for shade. You can bring drinks to the pool, but food is not allowed. There are also ping pong tables, slides, and a kids’ area. Amenities: The resort has a simple chapel, which is perfect for a small wedding—likely one of the main selling points. Other amenities include mini golf carts for easier transportation around the resort, several bars, kid-friendly areas, and spaces for outdoor activities and relaxation. Overall Vibe: If you enjoy walking, nature, and a resort surrounded by trees and some wildlife, this resort is a good fit. However, if you prefer to be steps away from the pool or beach from your room, this might not be the ideal choice.

We spent a week at Grand Palladium and loved it! We stayed at Colonial but had access to all the resorts, including the various restaurants and pools. The food was great and had a lot of variety, even at the buffets. Our favourite restaurants were the Brazilian rodizio, Mexican restaurant and daily poolside lunch (fresh paella!). The property was large and each resort had a unique feel to it, all while being immersed in nature (lots of wildlife including plenty of Mexican racoons, iguanas, and monkeys). Everyday was filled with activities and night life, with different themed parties (UV party, white party and fire show, Latin and rock nights, Mexican street festival). There was truly something for everyone and every age! All the staff were so welcoming and hospitable, but we especially loved our POP staff Carlos (best aqua gym instructor!!), Diego and Samuel, and our bartenders Javier, Miguel, Jesus, Antonio and Victor! Also shout out to the mixologist Christian at Churchill bar for his informative tequila tasting!

La Adelita Restaurant is the best!!! This was the best meal I have had during my stay. I am vegan and celiac. Our server Juan was fantastic. He quickly determined the needs of all at our table (one picky child, one celiac, one celiac +vegan and two with severe nut allergy ) the manager and chef came to the table for a discussion about our needs and the appropriate dishes required. We all felt safe and well taken care of. Juan has such positive, amazing energy through it all. I would highly recommend that you eat here. The food was delicious. Thank you to the chef for my personalized, delicious meal. And thank you Juan for such a lovely evening. You are the best!!
