We had a wonderful time at Grand riviera princess! We were in the laguna bungalows and the service was exceptional. A special shout out to the team at bar relax, Alex, Israel and Margarita! They took care of our every need whether we were chilling in a pool or a cabana. They really made our stay special. Also the concierge service and Karla were incredible and very attentive to all our wishes with bookings and resort services. As for the resort as a whole, the food was very good. The buffets were what you can expect from any buffet. Good quality for mass quantity food. The Al a Cartès were very good and had great service. The laguna bungalow is stunning and well worth the upgrade. Overall we had a wonderful week and will definitely go back! As for negative reviews on the construction, it didn’t affect us at all. If anything the resort was quieter so we could enjoy all the amenities more.

This place is fabulous. It's very beautiful. The entrance is grand, the grounds are all kept, and the beach is very nice also. All the staff has been really great and they keep this place spotless. There's lots of wild animals around and so many pools. The only beef we have here is that there is no where to get really good chocolate lol. But everything else has been good.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and 3 days. During our stay, everything seemed wonderful. The staff were friendly, always greeted us first, and the food and activities were excellent. Unfortunately, everything changed at checkout — and it completely ruined what had been a great experience. We had plans in Playa del Carmen and were informed the day before that the hotel offers a shuttle service to the city for 85 pesos or $5 per person. We confirmed this with the front desk and waited in line to board. Right before boarding, we were asked for our room number. When we explained that we had already checked out, the staff member immediately told us we could not take the shuttle. When we asked why, the response was abrupt and dismissive. Instead of calmly explaining a policy, the staff member said: “The moment you checked out, you are no longer our guests.” “You are not our customers anymore.” “You need to arrange your own transportation.” This was said in front of many other guests waiting in line. The tone was hostile and humiliating. We were treated as if we were trying to sneak onto something we were not entitled to — almost like we were being accused of doing something wrong. We felt a serious sense of humiliation and embarrassment in a public setting. It was an awful and degrading experience. If there is a policy that shuttle service is not available after checkout, that is completely understandable. We would have accepted it without any issue. However, the way it was handled — with visible anger, irritation, and a dismissive attitude — was completely unprofessional. When we went back to the front desk, they told us we were allowed to take the shuttle. But when we returned, the same staff member again refused and said the front desk had no authority. The situation became confrontational and unnecessarily aggressive. A pleasant stay turned into a terrible final memory because of one employee’s behavior. Clear policies should be communicated respectfully. No guest should ever be made to feel like a criminal simply for asking a question about a service. We left the hotel feeling deeply disappointed and shocked.

This resort is amazing. Because you are further away from the city there is lots of wildlife on the resort. The staff are lovely. I wanted to give a special shout out to Martin. On our last day at the resort I got up early to get a coffee and enjoy the scenery, and since there was basically no one else awake yet at the resort, Martin gave me a ride back to the other end of the resort on the tram and we had a very nice chat. Highly recommend!

Don’t listen to the bad reviews. Even with the construction which is hardly noticeable the newly renovated resort is lovely. There is multiple buffets to choose from with a variety of food. The beach is lovely, with workers constantly cleaning the seaweed. The bartenders are amazing, and everything is very new and modern. Only on our 4th day but so far everything is fantastic! Would recommend. The new rooms are also amazing !
