We stayed at the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya for five days in November and had a really good experience. The resort is more on the boutique side and isn't massive, which makes it perfect for a shorter stay. Anything more than a week might feel a bit much, but five days was perfect. When we first arrived, there were a couple of issues with our room, but Jacob the hotel supervisor handled everything quickly and was really kind throughout the process. Luis also deserves a shoutout. He looked after us with food and drinks and was just an all-around cool dude. Everyone we met at the resort was super friendly, and the Pan American show on Monday night was very cool. The beach and pool areas are beautiful, and the hotel itself is very nice. Some parts of the property are starting to show their age a bit, but the rooms were updated, modern, and very comfortable. The Asian restaurant was my favorite. The only small downside was at Lola Beach Club, where the raccoon-like animals were bothering guests and looking for food. The staff could have done a bit more to keep them away, but it was just a minor issue. Overall, the staff, the beach, the food, and the whole experience was great.

Stayed for 10 days in November. Excellent stay. Food - Really nice, several different options. Buffet and sit down meals. Special mention to all the staff at Tempest, who served 3 excellent menus, and the coffeeshop, who worked tirelessly to serve what seems like hundereds of iced coffees a day. Staff - Unbelievably nice and accomodating. Special mention to Julio, the hardest working, friendliest pool attendent, and Fermin, who brough excellent energy to all the entertainment. Beach was immaculate, pool was immaculate. Drinks were nice. We had a tropical room view, which was massive. Only real negative was the relucatance of the reception staff to break our pesos into anything smaller than 100 peso notes, which made tipping for things like buffets, drinks and handling bags quite awkward. Possibly more suited to a long weekend or week's stay, as after 9 nights we did feel like we had tried all of the food options, but there certainly was a good amount to choose from.

A beautiful property with amazing service. Rooms are clean. Everyone from the bell boys to the pool boys to housekeeping were so friendly and helpful. The only exception was the spa. Be very careful with prices as they will upsell everything and the charge prices are different than the posted prices at the front desk. Do not book at the pool. You'll pay more. The spa attendant acted almost bored and annoyed that people were there. The massage therapist was wonderful though. Also, we had a problem with mosquitos and sand fleas, so bring off along with sunscreen. Food was fine. The Italian and Asian places are great. The buffet is adequate. Shout out to the people that maintain the pool. It's one of the cleanest resort pools we've ever seen. Overall, a great stay, but I would skip the spa.

My wife and I stayed from November 21-28 and this is my honest review. We stayed at this resort two years ago when they renovated and changed from Secrets Capri to Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya. Our room was 537 in the main building, we upgraded at the time of check-in. It was well worth it, as the access to everything in the main building is what you want. Pros: -The staff is what makes the resort so special. We had so many amazing helpful staff members elevate our stay. While I cannot remember all of the names, I wanted to highlight a few. Nelson Perez is the best bartender and has been amazing to us on the two occasions we have stayed. Also Alejandra at the lobby bar, Alexander for beachside palapa service, Nicole and Nicole for poolside service, and Guadeloupe at Lola were all fantastic. -quality of the food is great. If you are looking for a super high end 5 star dining experience, this is not it. You will find great food options with great taste here, I particularly enjoyed the seafood throughout and the rack of lamb at the Italian restaurant was perfectly done. -The Beach is one of the best in the Riviera Maya. During our stay, the beach had mostly yellow flags. It is very easy to walk into the water, we spent 3-4 hours in the ocean all day (there were many people in the ocean). You can walk to a cenote 20 mins away from the resort along the beach. -The overall vibe they have kept is to prioritize relaxation. There is entertainment throughout the day, including a fitness trampoline class (great!), bracelet making classes, and many others we did not attend. -Housekeeping was great everyday, we were provided with turn down service one night -small size of the property makes it easy to navigate and walk anywhere in 10 minutes -Gym is a good size, more than enough for a workout -Sports bar is great, although they have now put a theatre in the sports bar where they do shows (these used to be done in the theatre before). During the shows it can get quite loud, takes away from a chill sports bar vibe for me. -Good quality drinks! Areas for improvement: -I agree that the resort could use one additional a la carte restaurant, as long as it doesn't impact the quality. French or Indian perhaps? -foam party once a week would be nice! Additional comments: -They recently opened a "club-level" at the resort. We did not book this level. It includes a club level bar which maybe had 2-3 people inside anytime we looked, sectioned off beachside palapas (we never had an issue finding palapas on the non club sides during our stay), and an entire section by the pool, which was unused the entire time we were there. The club level lounge had only just opened when we were there. I do not think personally there is value in this, as for the higher price I believe you could book a higher end resort. It may be an experiment, but I truly think they need to keep the entire resort non club level and continue to focus on the excellent service they keep providing. Adding the club level has made accessing alcohol that was previously nonclub levelvmore difficult. You need to really spceify what bottle you want your cocktails made with. There are bottles that are always an upgrade, even before the club changes. Could you find a higher end resort with more luxury services. Absolutely, but you will also probably pay twice the price. I think this resort provides fantastic value for that they offer, which is a great experience to relax. We will be returning, based on the value this resort and experience the staff continues to provide for us!

My husband and I got back from our wedding at the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya and had absolutely nothing negative to say about our entire stay there. We had a group of 50+ for our wedding and every single person remarked on how professional the staff was, how clean the facilities were, how quiet and peaceful the entire resort was, and how much they really enjoyed the food and drinks. I cannot recommend you enough, if you have never been to an all-inclusive resort, start here! You will not want to go anywhere else. Special shout out to Fermin, who went above and beyond every single day to make sure our entire party was included in the festivities of the day. Somehow every day I lost my floats in the pool and every morning Fermin was there to greet me with the floats completely blown up with air. Our group really enjoyed all of the activities offered at the resort: especially the parties late night at Legacy sports bar. A variety of other daytime activities were well loved: bracelet making, guacamole class, various volleyball tournaments, etc. The location of this resort is wonderful, it is so unbelievably quiet and it feels like you are the only resort in the entire area. Our group really wanted that for this trip, we did not want to feel like we were in the middle of Cancun at an all day party. People really enjoyed themselves throughout. Highly recommend the Italian restaurant, but even getting dinner at the buffet was always a really good bet. The food here is just so unbelievably good, it doesn’t really matter where you go. The coatis broke into our room during our wedding reception, but it was a mistake we made when someone forgot to latch the outside door. People who were staying several floors up didn’t really notice them at all, if anything they were cute and mostly kept to themselves unless you openly invited them into the room with food or dishes in the hallway. I wouldn’t let them freak you out or scare you away from this property, they are very benign creatures. The room service is 10 out of 10. Definitely take time to explore what the resort has to offer: we found out kayaking and paddle boards were included in our stay and had no idea! The spa is just a quick golf cart right away and it is unbelievably beautiful. Even just going there for the hydrotherapy for an hour was such a wonderful experience. Every single opportunity to make our trip better, the staff took it. They were so thoughtful, accommodating, and made sure every single person had what they needed at all times. They stalk your fridge with the items that you want, I let them ahead of time know that we didn’t want alcohol in our fridge and they made sure the entire time we were there it only had water! They even went so far as to greet us with mock tails instead of champagne when we arrived. That kind of thing is really important. Overall, cannot recommend this resort enough. Whether you are going with a small group, a large group, just as a couple, or to celebrate a wedding on site - I have nothing but great things to say about this resort! We will be back for our honeymoon.
