I don’t know where to begin. We went with 4 other families and had 10 kids between us all. An utter disappointment is an understatement. Staff was extremely rude as if we were bothering them being there. The beach was littered with trash. There are vendors in canoes blocking access to the ocean selling items and cat calling to get people over to them to buy stuff not to mention asking beach goers to get them food. The lady at the burger shack was extremely rude, always with a scowl on her face. We were ignored a few times trying to order food for the kids. The jerk chicken shack was delicious and the staff there were great. The buffet hall reeked of fish past its expiration date and fried oil. It was disgusting and very unappetizing. The food overall was mediocre at best. The pool area was super loud. Constant music or someone speaking into a microphone blaring through one speaker. I enjoy music by the pool, but the volume of it was unbearable. There were also no smoking signs everywhere at the pool area, but not enforced. A group of guys in their 20s were smoking joint after joint and there was no enforcement for them to stop. Not family friendly at all. The entertainment at night was in the open courtyard area and was so loud it seemed like they were right in our room. It was hard to fall asleep at night with all the noise. Not to mention the kids were up all night because of the noise. The rooms are in major need of an update. They are basically falling apart and held together by a bandaide of very noticeable caulk and plaster. Lipstick on a pig. I would not recommend this resort to anyone looking for a family friendly or relaxing vacation. There was no fitness center or spa on the property. I will say the grounds are kept very well and I appreciate seeing them mop down the pool area every morning, as well as never running out of towels at the pool area. Other than that it was not an enjoyable stay.

I had the most amazing time staying the Waves resort. My concierge Roxanne is a gem, she has such a lovely personality. She book my Japanese reservation and activate some credits that I used to get some discount at the spa. My favorite restaurant was the Jamaican, you can feel the friendliness. Entertainment was just wonder and all the staff was just great. Feels like home away from home.

Absolutely loved the entertainment team! They’re all extremely talented dancers and put on an amazing show! KK, Finez and tooshort were so kind and made a point to remember my mom and my name! There was always a fun activity happening for all ages!

We had a really great stay overall! The service and location were excellent, and the staff truly make the experience special. Everyone was always smiling and friendly, which made the whole resort feel welcoming and fun. Two employees in particular really stood out and deserve recognition. Too Short from the activity team was absolutely amazing. She took the time to remember guests’ names and little details about people, which made everyone feel noticed and included. She was constantly joking around, making people laugh, and bringing great energy wherever she was. You could tell she genuinely enjoys her job and cares about the guests having a great time. She really made our vacation more fun. Jada from the sales team was just as wonderful. From the moment we met her she made us feel welcome and comfortable. She has a great personality and sense of humour, and she made every interaction enjoyable. People like Jada are the reason guests feel so comfortable and happy at the resort. I also saw a staff member go next door to sing Happy Birthday to a child in the room beside us, which was such a thoughtful moment. Those small gestures really show how much the staff care about the guests. The food was great, especially the fish which was delicious. I also tried dashine for the first time, which was a fun new experience. The only small issue we noticed was that it sometimes sounded like running water coming from our bathroom, even when nothing was on. It wasn’t a big problem but something the hotel might want to check. Overall we had a wonderful stay, and employees like Too Short and Jada are exactly what make this resort such a great place to visit.

Rooms where dated, but overall location is good. Food is average but staff were amazing. Pool and Beach were also good, however finding chairs is a real challenge. You need to up at 6 to have a shot. Overall if you are looking for a smaller resort and location, pool and beach is your priority it's a nice place to go
