The resort is very environmentally friendly. There is amazing wildlife roaming the grounds like peacocks, coatis, iguanas and agoutis. They also have flamingo, turtles and monkeys. The fitness classes are world-class with Sergio and Omar. Julio remember us and had a table ready with our beverages. My only negative is the rooms. They are very dated with stucco and no drawers to put your clothes way. The housekeeping is top notch we would go the gym for a class and return to a clean room! Overall great experience!!!

Stayed here with my family and it was a great place to stay with kids. Adiel was great with customer service and the kids pool activities. Edgar was the best bartender, he made me 1,000 of the most perfect skinny margaritas. The fries at the beachside snack shack were a huge hit and a daily treat for us. Absolutely loved the daily pool aerobics, so fun for all of us!! The beach and ocean were the highlight. Super clean beaches, powder soft sand, front row beach loungers, and lots of clean towels. Overall, super fun resort. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic Family Vacation at Iberostar Waves Tucan! Our family of six recently returned from an 8-night, 9-day stay at Iberostar Waves Tucan in Playa del Carmen, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. We chose Iberostar again after loving our stay at the brand’s property in Punta Mita last year, and once again they did not disappoint. The beach and pool area at the Tucan are outstanding — beautiful, clean, and packed with things to do. I especially loved the sunrise yoga sessions on the beach, which were such a peaceful way to start each day. Our eldest son took private tennis lessons during the trip, which were very reasonably priced. His instructor, Marcus, was fantastic — thank you, Marcus, for making those sessions such a highlight for him! A big shoutout as well to Jose at the Tulum Restaurant, who took great care of us at breakfast and lunch. The entire staff throughout the resort was consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We also really enjoyed the resort’s beautiful jungle setting, the excellent gym, and the variety of activities available every day. The food was very good with plenty of choices for everyone in the family, which is no small feat with four kids! We stayed in a family room, which was spacious and comfortable. The rooms are beginning to show their age a little — particularly around the bathroom ceilings where some seepage was visible — but everything was very clean and well maintained overall. One of the highlights of our trip was a family photoshoot on the beach with the resort’s onsite photography service. The pictures turned out great and captured our vacation perfectly. All in all, we had a fantastic vacation and would happily return. Thank you, Iberostar Waves Tucan, for another memorable family getaway!

I cannot find fault with this hotel. Okay yeah the rooms are slightly dated but there is nothing wrong with them & they have mentioned closing for a renovation next year. The buffet food has been tasty, I would definitely recommend the Italian & Japanese Restaurants! The Service staff have been wonderful - always so kind! The hotel itself is amazing - the wildlife , the decor, the pool & beach, I liked walking around this hotel. The entertainment team (especially Abigail)are the BEST! Always working so hard & so friendly, we loved spending an evening in the reception bars joining in with the Quiz, Bingo , Karaoke or Mexican Lottery! I would definitely be booking again

Overall we had a great time here. The food was good, snack bar by the beach had great hotdogs and burgers. We really enjoyed the restaurants. No complaints about food at all! We travelled with an infant and felt safe. When we arrived, there was no crib in our room as requested multiple times. I requested it when booking and I also called 3 days in advance to make sure since this was very important to us. The front desk first told us this was not possible anymore and to wait until the next day. I was panicking as we cannot sleep with an infant in our bed for safety purposes. I was still able to make it happen eventually but it took some convincing. Drinking water was easily accessible on each floor, they had a water filter where you could get water refills. This helped since I had to wash baby bottles with filtered water and didnt have to request multiple bottles of water. We stayed in the #21 block, close to the beach and pool. I preferred this as it was close to everything but it is further from the lobby. It was a really cool walk to the restaurants everyday through the jungle. The jungle part of the resort was a unique experience that I never had at other resorts. The pool was deep! 5.5 ft all around but there was a separate section/pool area for kids that was not deep. The problem with this is if you wanted to just relax in the pool without having to swim you could only do so in a small area. Other than that you are constantly swimming. Beach area was huge and no seaweed! Very clean and was one of the best beaches I’ve been to. Entertainment mainly finishes at around 10pm and the resort becomes very quiet after that. If you’re looking for a relaxing and “no party” vibe then this is it. Overall I would highly recommend this resort for the food, jungle feature and beautiful beach. It’s a good family resort for people with babies/infants. It was exactly what we needed and was looking for.
